wow..... Well to be fair, the website wording is a bit misleading. It says something like they ship based on payment, which means when things /are/ shipping, it is shipped based on full payment. It can be taken to mean they ship when you pay.

Lord almighty is helping me to make the right decision about Neptune. Since I have neither enough cash nor btcs to spend, I think Lord almighty has been clear enough.

wow..... Care to explain yourself? i feel if you have read any of the past comments, you would see that knc delivered 1 DAY late, compared to bfl's 1 year.....pretty self explanatory.

Reading, a useful skill I can highly recommend. Pointless trolling here is a waste of time, we all have 1st hand experience that KNC deliver and the products are good. We're past that "will they" stage, now into "will it pay again next time" stage. We all seem to have a view on that, but it's a gamble we'd probably all agree would be better taken with KNC than most other manufacturers. Hope your ebay sale goes well Pheonix, that would be just about the ideal scenario ..buy rigs, mine them at their peak then dump them for a large enough profit to pay for the upgrade to gen2 and still keep the BTC mined If you'd been told you could do this 2 months ago you'd not have believed it I bet

from http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-pre-orders-next-asic The 20nm chips will be fabricated by the firm’s current ASIC fabrication partner, TSMC. He
said that the non-recurring engineering (NRE) cost for the chips would be around three
times that of the 28nm device (this came in with a total NRE of $4.7m, although not all
of those costs were attributable to TSMC).
so (guesstimate) NRE costs for 20nm are about $12 mln, devided by 1200 units of first batch = $ 10000 / per unit

I bought my jup with this method and as long as you follow knc instructions everything will be ok. if you've already placed the order you'll find the instructions at the bottom "PROFORMA INVOICE" you should have received via email.

Man I was really hoping for more concrete info about gen2 before they opened the order-book and while I have a lot of faith in KNC, my spidey senses are starting to tingle a bit. They've turned this into a big gamble once again. I'm very surprised that they are taking pre-orders with a "Q1/Q2" ship date. Might was well say "first half of 2014" which is a HUGE 6 month variance making it close to impossible to estimate BTC yield. I personally believe that they didn't initially plan to start taking orders this early with so little gen2 info but were tempted by the record exchange rate knowing it would allow them to sell more at a higher price. This article, published a little over 10 hours ago, says "Cole is taking the same approach with the new box, saying that its 2TH performance is a minimum figure" yet their announcement shortly after says 3TH so I'm not feeling like they do not have a concrete plan for gen2 yet. Next they are no longer accepting PayPal leaving only non-reversible payments which is slightly suspicious. What happens if BTC price crashes early next year and everybody starts asking for refund after they've spent a lot of funds on RND? Could be a nightmare... I just sold $13k worth of Avalons and am SOOOOO tempted to order a Neptune but there's such a huge variance in the estimated BTC yield I can't really accurately compare to investing directly in BTC. While I'm happy with my Jupiter, my difficulty prediction was way off and I would have been better off investing directly in BTC and do not want to make that same mistake again. Decisions decisions... /$0.02
