I'm not even seeing where they are selling the 28nm yet when it says "Mass production available starting from the second week of December 2013" so, are they late? First time I saw this. Seems like they wanted to play 28nm, but came late to the game to me. Where is the 28nm offering from them? what product of 28nm are they selling? If not, let me explain... Bitmine made Avalon clones. That's what they mean by Gen 1 devices. I'm not endorsing Bitmine. In fact I would never buy a device directly from them. But they do have a working 28nm chip and have released them into the wild. The more affordable A1 chip-based devices appear to be real, working knockoffs from stolen chips or questionably licensed Intellectual Property. |

like women's issues 'late' or just your normal average bitcoin mining rig 'late'? it's difficult to ascertain which is which, these days. Late and overpriced with terrible customer service. Between them, Hashfast and Blackarrow they make KNC look like baby Jesus. I'll bank on that. Thank you. I thought I'd missed something. I'll stick with what KNC has to offer, thanks tho. seems alot like investing in Rocket science to me.... Don't even want to look at noobs. |

One time I ordered a nice sony 80" TV from China off Alibaba, and they sent me a tracking #. I "Tracked" that baby for six weeks, and when my nice new pair of panty-hose arrived...... AAaahh! I Hope they get a real machine.... Then maybe KNC WILL deliver in April...hehe |

yes I am with you, there is money to be made many places, just the arbitrage between the same coin on one exchange to the next can net you 10% a day.
Early on I bought a lot (ahem) of Dogecoin for 0.0000008 per and it did not take long for them to be worth much much more!
I miss the doge train due to naivety and lack of proper attitude. I hope to learn from that missing profit :/
re: security, paper wallets are the only way to go.
When I get X coins (different for each coin) they go to a paper wallet.

But compared to the rest, it was light and day. Yes facing serious competition. I'm counting on them to overdeliver or be compensated. If not I'll ask for a refund or sell it.. With ASICS we are still in the age of performance over power savings.
This is with zero impact to performance. Hashing at 760-770GHz, clocks all at 1000MHz, errors at same level as before tune, just less heat and less power. Actually for me it's "improved" my hashing performance as I had one PSU kicking off on hot days and now the PSU also runs cooler. +1 here. I followed your idea and got my November Jupiter down to 825W from 960W whilst still hashing at 760GH/s. So that's a power reduction from 1.263 W/GH/s to 1.086 W/GH/s. And temps are down a few degrees C as well. Well worth the time taken (for me, about 30 minutes doing then 30 minutes monitoring for those last few HW errors to stabalise). |

I followed your idea and got my November Jupiter down to 825W from 960W whilst still hashing at 760GH/s.

Classic! Here's my theory on these guys - they used neptune pre-order money to pay for DC. Cat got out of the bag that they weren't close to getting said tunes out the door. Refund madness occurred. They needed more cash to pay for DC, so neptunes went on sale again. Nobody bought them because we're just not that stupid and learned how to do math. Bummer, what to do? The offer scrypt miners for 10G and no refunds. That way they've got the money and don't have to give it back when new people learn how to do math. Bonus smartness comes in when they will convert neptune orders that had the possibility of a refund over to the new "terms and conditions" of no refund scrypt miner. The last bit stinks of Hashfast. Seriously, who is running the business over there? Do these companies all get together in some bar or strip club and compares notes? That's exactly also my theory. Add to this that with no refund possible and their right to delay shipping as much as they want, they may end up never sending you anything at all, and still owing you nothing. Look at their Terms. You send them 10k but they have no obligation to deliver you anything for that. You have to just hope that they will. Yes, they've likely spent part of the Neptun pre-order money for things that has nothing to do with the Neptun (their mining farm), they've got in trouble with the refunds and so they came out with this new project, which is so well defined that they even can't tell which will be Titan's power consumption. |

Just look at the founder, " extensive mining experience.... through mining Bitcoins... excitement for its concept, growth, future"? That's the best bio they can come up with? Seriously? At least they are honest about their utter lack of experience/expertise. So if they are late and can't deliver on their promise then you really have no one to blame but yourself. All I can say is they only took partial deposits for their scrypt miners, so what were they supposed to do when a large, proven, well-capital competitor announced a LTC miners that is at least 4x more powerful at the same price (ok $1000 more)? They really don't have a choice but to say they will match KNC's performance figure. Otherwise they might as well close up shop since they have yet to tape-out and people can request for a 75% refund of their 30% deposit within 3 months = only losing £409 or file a claim with PayPal (if used) and try to get the entire deposit back. Either way Alpha-T made the rookie mistake of not taking 100% Bitcoin deposit without refund, but again I supposed they are honest or they don't think anybody is willing to give full payment to a new/unproven company with serious lack of expertise. Regardless, you really can't blame anyone if you give them your money/bitcoin and receive an under-performing/late scrypt miner. At 100 Mh/s, it is almost impossible to ROI if you are only looking at Litecoin, better off buying LTC. Things do get more interesting if KnC over-deliver (150 Mh?) and if they can deliver middle of Q2/Q3, tape out in early May and ship by end of July? If they would allow refund then it might be a good hedge against LTC price drop since unlike buying LTC, you are not locked into the loss if you can get a refund before shipment and you still gain if LTC value goes up. However since there is no refund, the other advantage as someone has already pointed out is there could be some newer and more profitable scrypt-based alt coin (like dogecoin) in the future that can become more popular and make the Titan profitable for longer. Unlike Neptune since bitcoin is so dominating, there probably won't be a new SHA-256 coins that will become popular and gain much value, so you are stuck mining bitcoin that will continue its decline in profitability. |
