The Litecoin arms race begins No no no, no arms race, Litecoin is just a fad, as are all Alt Coins. Bitcoin is where it is at. Focus on that and just ignore the other coins, they are just Bitcoin Wannabes. I mean what could you do with a measly 650Mh? We bitcoiners are doing TERAHASH stuff. RIGHT?!?! Preaching to the wrong guy here mate, I'm right beside you. Preparing for a lot of Neptunes, the only reason I'm going to add the Titan to my arsenal is to take advantage of any boom that LTC might see and trade those for BTC. I was more suggesting that LTC hardware companies are now really competing against each other. Personally LTC is not for me.

KnC flood the market everyday with 400000 dollar worth of BTC from their mining operation. At this moment they get less than 400000 dollar, BTC price dropped. Taiwan Semicondutor Manufaturing Company and other companies who sell parts to them only accept dollars. Those bastards keep expanding their farm.
They're killing bitcoin. They need to be shut down. This is why I suggested ages ago that the Bitcoin protocol should have included a punishment to discourage centralization. Once the people lose the monetary printing press to an elite few, Bitcoin becomes no different from fiat, and you lose the community. If you want to teach them a lesson mine MaxCoin on a GPU instead.

Except in 50 minutes Alpha Tech will start taking orders on their 650Mh unit:
We say this as we anticipate by the time competition’s product is released our next batch will be due shortly ensuring we can again stay one step ahead. At this point we would like to guarantee a minimum of 650 Mh/s for our second batch, this figure is just a preliminary minimum and it is more likely than not to be higher.
What? No magical rainbow unicorn included? That's the least they can include with their made-up 650 Mh my a__ miner. So Alpha-T had gone from having a top-of-line scrypt miner capable of only 25Mh to 95Mh and is now capable of designing a 650 Mh in a matter of 10 days? Really what do you expect them to say? We can't compete and everybody will just ask for a refund and they die without being able to pay for taping out. Come-on now KnC, you can for sure make the Titan 1TH with all the cash from your bitcoin money machines!

Why would LTC see a boom when everyone who mines LTC will be dumping LTC for BTC? The LTC/BTC ratio could go back to 0.02 or even below.

I get my equipment from reselling, never paid for a unit in my life, it's all profit after electricity so the ratio doesn't mean much to me, just more BTC in my wallet.

The miners are expected to ship within Q2. We have finished designing the chips and now expecting for them to arrive. We should have more specific information and updates once the chips arrive. Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you have further questions.

Altcoins could be worth dirt after Titan arrives.... or they could skyrocket.... Think about it.
Scenario 1.. Every GPU will be rendered obsolete for mining overnight. Those who had GPU's sell off.... and nobody want to buy alts anymore, driving the price into the dirt.
Scenario 2... Titan owners hold coin for much longer than GPU owners causing a shortage which drives the price of alts higher through simple supply and demand.
The facts: Either scenario will be controlled by Titan owners, so if you decide to use the roaming altcoin pool that cashes you out to btc automatically with a Titan; you will be responsible for the big drop in price. killing your own profits. The only that Titan will ROI the wat you hope... is if most Titan owners mine & hold.

Bitcoin will be finished when ASICs arrive.... Think about it. doggone, didnt even knnow i had a draft saved before the post.. uuugggh. but...yeah...could be same too. This is more so, and wildly drastically different. That only works if Titan owners mine and hold *If 90% of the altcoin mkt was mining to trade immediately for btc....

Bitcoin will be finished when ASICs arrive.... Think about it. Since you will be converting LTC to BTC, clearly, a scenario where LTC/BTC ratio will dramatically decrease is more plausible. Mining with expensive rigs looks less and less attractive as a hobby. I can play with my ants, contribute a few coins for the benefit of mankind, pay a small tax fee, etc.

Bitcoin will be finished when ASICs arrive.... Think about it. Bitcoin finished? Bitcoin will never die but these Alt-coins will because they haven't taken the baby steps that Bitcoin has taken, they are more or less the "get rich quick" crypto currencies with a short life span. Fortunately for me my Neptune will be contributing to increasing the difficulty levels of some of this alt-coins which I will turn in Bitcoin's!

Will be a great show anyway..... Poor Alpha Tek says there's no need to match KNC's new offer because they will be out first, quickly retracting the matching of Mh/$ statement when KNC announced 250 minimum. Matching KNC would bankrupt them easily, and they only took 1/3rd down... much of which is PayPal. This really must have tightened the belt for Alpha. I'll be surprised if they survive Titan.

But Bitcoin will never die.

Exactly what I expect most Titan owners will do. i decided to make a ceiling on my btc sell price - as soon as it dropped below €450, all btc I gather from mining is getting put straight back into my cloud contracts. by the time btc is up over that ceiling again, i'll have accrued a nice sized contract on the cloud - which will keep hashing for the duration of my contract... and still have my small rig at home to keep running as a hobby.

Maybe, but there's a lot of market to saturate with Scrypt ASICS. By that I mean: there are only a few SHA-256 coins to which you can point a Bitcoin ASIC, and they're all still alive. There are over a hundred Scrypt Alts, which more being created every day. There's a lot more playing field for each device, so I don't necessarily think that the Scrypt ASICS will be the end of the road for Alts.
