Hello everyone ... who can explain to me how the problem of the difficulty works Huh and how can I set a good compromise for my hardware Huh??

On ckpool I started with difficulty 4000 (4K) but the pool automatically set me to 40 and then to 20 ....

so what should I do??

thanks,ultimate64

You probably selected a port with a vardiff (variable difficulty).  If the pool offers a fix diff port you need to select that port & set your diff to reflect an optimal diff.  This  would require some experimentation.

All that being said, unless you have a specific reason to set fix diff, most pools operate with a very good variable diff & will yield the best results.

hello everyone,

can anyone help me with the voltage setting?

i'm struggling to get stability with anything over 100 on one of my sticks. my black one runs at 175 no probs. but my green one will only just at 175 for a few hours. they are both nicely cooled and i'm using a 3amp Orico USB powdered 7way.

I have tried turning the little voltage key a little bit in both directions but that doesnt appear to make any difference. maybe i should turn it more? i didnt want to over do it!!

ideally i was hoping to max these out at like 275 or even 300 but that now seems very unlikely.

any help much appreciated.

thanks
zac

Are those seconds sticks, the ones sold at a discount because they're pretty much guaranteed to be not as good?

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!

Pounds? How did you get a green stick in Europe? Who did you buy them from?

The "official" place to buy anything GekkoScience, basically, is from me. Unless you're in Europe in which case you talk to bitshopper.de (MacEntyre on this forum)

What are the device serial numbers you see in cgminer (GSD 1000xxxx)?

Any black stick with a BSD serial is a proper stock stick sent to bitshopper.de for resale. The green stick, serial 22394, is not a seconds stick but I don't know how you ended up with it in UK unless you bought it second-hand. Either that or I have a reseller breaking the rules.

Let me ask again, who did you buy them from?

Sidehack FYI.

I ran two of the TTbits at the standard freq. of 100 (zombie if you raise the freq.) on their software with one Gekko at 100.  All run, but not flash acceptance of shares.  Mostly said stale share, then a bunch of acceptance & then back to a number of stale shares.

Set up the Gekko on another computer & ran at 150 on your software.  Outperformed the TTbits by 2:1 with no stale shares.  Think their software is one issue with the almost constant 'stale share' bit & the other issue is the marginal actual working performance.  The (A) readings snapshot is:

Gekko A; 6640

TTbit (2) A; 2965

Conclusion is that the difference in performance indicates the TTbit should sell for less than USD$25.00 based upon performance, power/hash & poor software.

Comments?   Other test I should try?   Cheers Vezpit.

this is gekkoscience thread, any questions regarding the ttbit should be directed to their btctalk thread or at least back to your seller

Yes agree,  this was the conclusion of a previous discussion with 'Sidehack' & relates to the differences between the two sticks.

I bet nobody's speaking up because there's references in the first post.

I read the first post. There's a link to a thread which is of no use at all.

i'm using a 3amp Orico USB powdered 7way.
I´d think that 3 amps is not enough for two sticks at higher frequency.
Turning the pot clockwise is setting the voltage up. But this causes higher power consumption. Try both of the sticks alone in the hub. Do they work then?
What happens exactly when they stop working? Do they go into zombie mode?

Hi thanks for the reply.
Yes trying them on their own was the first thing I did. Black one is stable green one not.
I'm going to read the description again for the usb hub. Maybe I'm wrong about the 3amp.

When I discover that the green one has crashed it just says OFF. It has a solid green led. No hash/flash.

Thanks for the clockwise tip. At least I know I'm tweeking in the right direction.

Thanks

P.s. yes it says DC output 12v 3amp. Which I stupidly thought would be each port. But that would make it a 30amp draw for the whole thing which would be extremely scary lol
