Any opinions about this theory regarding a whale dumping 1.2million btc yesterday to crash the market?

Oh boy $1.2 billion

Looks legit  Cool

They gotta tell us the addresses or it didn't happen.

Which exchange? Did that exchange actually lead the dump? Are the 1.2 million all sold already? So we gotta work hard to buy back all them cheep coinz.

Yeah, legit for sure Cool

Now 52 BTC.
What a joke. Interest in Bitcoin isn't that high, i guess?

It resets each day.

So it is about 61 as I type.

https://www.theice.com/products/72035464/Bakkt-Bitcoin-USD-Monthly-Futures-Contract/data?marketId=6137541

The first day was about 72
The second day was 216
And so far the third day (still early in the day) is 61

Thanks, also fillippone cleared that up for me.
You know any further bakkt statistics resources, btw?

I'm curious how they are making money on this zero fee crypto exchange, I'm assuming it's a loss leader and they expect a typical member to also be buying stocks that do have fees?

Today's meaningless hopium...  The current 4 year CAGR implies a halving price of $23k, a peak of $700k followed by a crash to $100k.

As far as I know that is the only source.
I am sure there will be more in the near future (pun intended).

All you folks got far too little patience expecting new highs around the corner. That spike that happened in December 2017 - chances like that don't come around like buses. That is gone for a long long time.

This chart here has about the right timeframe. Although the peak of each high is exponentially higher, the time between such surges gets longer and longer.

We're looking at 2021-2022 to recapture 20-20k again and 2023-4 for new highs.

@toknormal - That chart has been posted loads of times before. It has us at $3,000 in October 2019.
So you have us hitting the halving at what, $4,000?

Come on, man!

I got this from an inspirational speaker some time ago.

Quote
You know some important people around the world. What do you think the next ten years are going to be like?

Gentlemen, I do know the right people. I can tell you.

Gentlemen, based on the people I know and from the best of my own experience, I’ve concluded that in the coming ten years, things are going to be about like they’ve always been.

I said that to make a point, but also because it’s accurate. Things are going to be about like they’ve always been. The tide comes in, and then what? It goes out. That’s been the case for six thousand years of recorded history, and probably long before that, so it’s not likely to change.

It gets light and then what? It turns dark. For six thousand years. We are not to be startled by that now. If the sun goes down and someone says, “What’s happened?” he must have just gotten here, I guess. It always goes down about this time of day.

In rotation, the next season after fall is winter. And pray tell, how often does winter follow fall? Every time, without fail, for six thousand years that we know of. Of course, some winters are long and some are short, some are difficult and some are easy, but they always come right after fall. That isn’t going to change.

Sometimes you can figure it out, sometimes there’s no way to figure it out. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it gets in a knot. Sometimes it sails along, sometimes it goes in reverse. That’s not going to change. The last six thousand years read like this: opportunity mixed with difficulty. It isn’t going to change.

I disagree with your chart. I think $100,000 per coin by late 2021.
Either way though, I’m 33, I can wait until 2023-24 for crazy life changing money, no problem.
