[...] I can't really remember the last time I required anyone else's time. I guess I could rent someone with really long hair to flop it over me and shuffle behind and that'll be cheaper than a wig so make the move worthwhile.
It is 6AM and I have tears in my eyes laughing. Good start of the day, thank you Gentleman. Can relate though, it may look crazy to some but even when for free I rather do things myself. Nothing wrong with a bit of manual labor and learning how to do or fix something. I enjoy it actually.

Is your scrapper fast enough to get the original post before any edit/addition is done to it? Try it Loading the page after posting takes a few seconds, editing takes a few seconds, so try What is the delay you are using for your scrapper? I prefer not to post the exact delay, but I've also noticed it sometimes takes a tad longer (maybe because of lag, and because of the time needed to process the data). Or maybe there is a way to retrieve the original/unedited post from bitcointalk? As far as I know, edits within 10 minutes aren't saved by the forum.

Without considering language, I was also thinking about Greece (including Corfu), some Mediterranean islands (Crete, etc.), maybe Canary islands. Maybe I should learn Spanish or Portuguese, finally.
Suggestions?
Greece has very good climate. Just note that in Crete it's pretty hot in the summer and Corfu is quite rainy in non-summer months. Central and northern Greece is better for dealing with heat but of course it'll be a bit colder in the winter. Athens is becoming a shithole though, due to extreme migrant inflow from islamic countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan... foreigners are easy prey to criminal islamic gangs.

Good morning WO's, Indeed it is over $9000 looking at 9155 and climbing. This is fine. Tet is coming soon and the karaoke parties are starting. I'm expecting prices to follow the celebrations of the next 10 days. Friends and atmosphere all in place. Here's a shot of our back yard currently. Any sleuths out there find this? Shouldn't be terribly difficult. My guess is Vietnam too. Tossing at Phantom Rang (no clue why... just hinting because of kites in the background and googled kite destinations in Vietnam and liked the name).

I’d like to see something similar passed in the UK.
Well, we do get a 12 grand or so tax free allowance per year which could be worse. Capital gains is not one of those taxes that the average voter pays or gives a shit about so I can well imagine it'll rise at some point. It's a pretty soft target. And it would've been 90 billion per cent had Labour gotten in. I’m really not happy at the thought of paying 20%, that sucks man. Why should I pay so much money when the majority of my coins were bought for so little. The government does not deserve to take so much from us. What I like is the idea when its paid, then its paid. Live free and happy no nasty taxman visit or whatever

Where is the world it is pleasantly warm, but not hot at least 8-9 mo/year? A sea and or a lake is required, preferably english speaking (at least in a large part) populace. I cannot think of anywhere apart from few small places in The Caribbean, with a threat of hurricanes, etc. I've been through several hurricanes already, it's a thing to avoid if possible. Without considering language, I was also thinking about Greece (including Corfu), some Mediterranean islands (Crete, etc.), maybe Canary islands. Maybe I should learn Spanish or Portuguese, finally.

Canary islands is probably what better fit that description. Not too expensive. Warm weather all year round (for foreigners... the summer is too dull for me) and plenty of english speaking zones/communities. Malaga coast also have a lot of english speaking zones/resorts but the weather during summer maybe is a bit on the hot side for foreigners. Also more expensive but still very affordable in comparison to other countries. *Many* UK/German/etc retirees there specially in Marbella. Palma de Mallorca another option. With a lot of english speaking people there. But the *WET* weather (humidity) is absolutely ridiculous. Portugal, there are also some reasonable options, like Portimão, etc... Lived there 6 months. Christmas stroll along the beach, awesome. Yes I also met a few retirees, living a great life on the cost of heating a room back in the uk. Probably more now but it was about 80p a pint, 80p fags, 80p full English etc. etc. Plus lots of touristy entertainment, live music acts etc.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still going sideways preparing for another assault on $9k I see... currently $8646USD/$11312CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Ho. Hum. “The most subversive thing you can to with bitcoin is saving” It's a shame but it's absolutely true. How times change. I guess I'm showing my age but when I was a kid saving was considered a virtue. Usury was a crime. Loan sharks were sleazy gangsters akin to pushers and pimps. We were advised to save up to buy things we needed. Borrowing to buy things was considered foolish weakness, like drug addiction or gambling. Bank accounts were for saving, not spending. Sure, some payments were made by cheque (i.e. utility bills) but most purchases were made with good clean honest cash. Bank credit was for businesses, for earning money, not spending it. Individuals borrowed mainly for mortgages or home improvement loans which were themselves a form of business loan. For everything else you saved until you could afford to buy with cash. Consumer credit was on a small personal level. People would send their kids to the neighborhood grocery store for a few things during the week and the grocer would put them on your tab to be settled up in cash when he delivered your weekly grocery order on Saturday. Banks paid people to save money which they then lent out to businesses. There were no service charges for regular services like deposits and withdrawals. "Prizes" like toasters or other household appliances were given as inducements to open accounts. No identification was required (nor asked for) to open an account. The fact that you trusted them with your money was enough. Benjamin Franklin in his wisdom said, "neither borrower nor lender be". How sad that we have allowed ourselves to become wage and debt slaves. "Hodling" is emancipation.

Decentralized digital identities and blockchain: The future as we see it.To that end today we are sharing our best thinking based on what we’ve learned from our decentralized identity incubation, an effort which is aimed at enabling richer experiences, enhancing trust, and reducing friction, while empowering every person to own and control their Digital Identity.
1.Own and control your Identity. Today, users grant broad consent to countless apps and services for collection, use and retention beyond their control. With data breaches and identity theft becoming more sophisticated and frequent, users need a way to take ownership of their identity. After examining decentralized storage systems, consensus protocols, blockchains, and a variety of emerging standards we believe blockchain technology and protocols are well suited for enabling Decentralized IDs (DID).
2. Privacy by design, built in from the ground up. Today, apps, services, and organizations deliver convenient, predictable, tailored experiences that depend on control of identity-bound data. We need a secure encrypted digital hub (ID Hubs) that can interact with user’s data while honoring user privacy and control.
3. Trust is earned by individuals, built by the community. Traditional identity systems are mostly geared toward authentication and access management. A self-owned identity system adds a focus on authenticity and how community can establish trust. In a decentralized system trust is based on attestations: claims that other entities endorse – which helps prove facets of one’s identity.
4. Apps and services built with the user at the center. Some of the most engaging apps and services today are ones that offer experiences personalized for their users by gaining access to their user’s Personally Identifiable Information (PII). DIDs and ID Hubs can enable developers to gain access to a more precise set of attestations while reducing legal and compliance risks by processing such information, instead of controlling it on behalf of the user.
5. Open, interoperable foundation. To create a robust decentralized identity ecosystem that is accessible to all, it must be built on standard, open source technologies, protocols, and reference implementations. For the past year we have been participating in the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF) with individuals and organizations who are similarly motivated to take on this challenge. We are collaboratively developing the following key components:
* Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) – a W3C spec that defines a common document format for describing the state of a Decentralized Identifier. * Identity Hubs – an encrypted identity datastore that features message/intent relay, attestation handling, and identity-specific compute endpoints. * Universal DID Resolver – a server that resolves DIDs across blockchains. * Verifiable Credentials – a W3C spec that defines a document format for encoding DID-based attestations.
6. Ready for world scale: To support a vast world of users, organizations, and devices, the underlying technology must be capable of scale and performance on par with traditional systems. Some public blockchains (Bitcoin BTC, Ethereum, Litecoin, to name a select few) provide a solid foundation for rooting DIDs, recording DPKI operations, and anchoring attestations. While some blockchain communities have increased on-chain transaction capacity (e.g. blocksize increases), this approach generally degrades the decentralized state of the network and cannot reach the millions of transactions per second the system would generate at world-scale. To overcome these technical barriers, we are collaborating on decentralized Layer 2 protocols that run atop these public blockchains to achieve global scale, while preserving the attributes of a world class DID system.
7. Accessible to everyone: The blockchain ecosystem today is still mostly early adopters who are willing to spend time, effort, and energy managing keys and securing devices. This is not something we can expect mainstream people to deal with. We need to make key management challenges, such as recovery, rotation, and secure access, intuitive and fool-proof. Tl;dr Microsoft will build the decentralized IDs (DID) system on top of Bitcoin using Lightning.
