It depends mostly on pool and not on coin itself.

So how would I determine profitability on a site like whattomine, based on what is portrayed on hash-to-coins.com?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Is this even worth it if its 2 months behind?

a month ago the L3+ was producing 1.35 LTC a day, now its down to 0.8 LTC a day... in two months, it'll only do 0.2?

I'm thinking about ordering but it seems the price went from $1300 to $2300 ....

It is my concern too ! My order for 5 pcs L3+ should arrive in october ! 2017

Where can I see the producing LTC a day ?! or how much can i expect to earn in october when "everybody" will receive the antminer L3+  Huh Embarrassed  Huh

By october hashrate will easily be doubled...youll be lucky to be getting .25 LTC per machine/day by then.

Can do both. Or can just leave on Prohashing or Nicehash.

If hash-to-coins. Then check best coin for 24h period and mine it. Beware that some coins might be pumped and will lookmprofitable in 24h, but won't be as price will start to increase, but there will be a big increase in hashrate.

You Old Miners, what kind of Router / Hub / Switch (POE) or (Not Poe) are you using for your own rig, and any Surge Protector?, can you guide us please,  Wink  Thanks

I found this one, Cisco SG110-16 , unmanaged, not poe and 100-240V AC

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/sg100-16-16-port-gigabit-switch/model.html

I use cheapest hub, working without any problem with 15 meters lan wire. More important is this thing: https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Display-Protection-SMART1500LCDT/dp/B009TZTGWK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1499421980&sr=8-3&keywords=ups+3000va
this thing is useless and just adds extra cost.

Half-Load Runtime: This UPS system will support a 50% load (450 W) for up to 10 minutes.

So im confused... I have four l3+ coming in in september and about a week ago i ordered 4 apw3++ (the july batch) psu's too, i dont have a problem with installing another 220v circuit (i have one rn) So how many can i put on one 220v? will one be able to power all of them?

I would drop in a 30amp circuit and then yes you can run all 4 on one circuit with a little room for expansion.  I always go overboard, but just dont load the circuit over 80% load and you should be fine.

30 amper? its huge value for 220v, need minimum 4mm2 wire.
like i said i go over board a bit.  It gives you room for expansion if and when the opportunity comes up.  Thats why i build in more.  If you want to go minimum amperage with your 4, you can get away with a 20amp at 220.

So do you guys reckon that it is worth buying an L3+? How fast would the ROI be on a unit like this if it arrived in October?

The problem I see is the next batch is priced at 40LTC, that's what you have to ROI not the spot USD price.
I think pricing the miner in LTC is a bad idea. If LTC is $100 when the Sept batch ships, and the difficulty has doubled, then your are going to feel mighty silly that you didn't just hold onto your 40 LTC in the first place.

This happened to me with Butterfly Labs miners, and the Antminer S1, in both cases I would have been better off just holding onto my crypto.

I think 40 LTC at today's prices is too expensive, it should just be priced in USD like the last batch, just look at the curve of LTC/USD prices over the past couple of months.

The danger is most getting equipment after JULY are 'expecting' or 'betting' that a jump in scrypt pow coin price and/or ltc from $50 to $75 bucks

will let them ROI. But that is a 'dangerous assumption"

then again I've done such in the past too...just don't exactly follow that logic anymore

I have 4 L3+ for sale, willing to take 35 LTC or 0.69 BTC for each w/o PSU.  They are in the September batch to be shipped.

PM me if interested

Hey miningmania,

I already have my machines bought from bitmain. But why are you selling them? You bought them to sell them? especially for 35LTC?

I would suggest you get into mining, because with 4 machines you can mine wonders!

And don't be afraid about difficulty .. it will increase slightly until end of July , but even with calculation done with the difficulty double from the current one, it is still great mining with 4 machnes Smiley

I finally received a message of Bitmain regarding my PSU.

For everyone who ordered way back with the "shipping within 10 days after payment" it will be send with miners or other products in one package....

Don't know why that answer took them 4 weeks...

Then why we have to pay separate shipping for the unites and the PSU? Why don't they combine shipping on checkout...

Don't they do that? Shipping was based on the weight. The heavier the package the more shipping. and if its 2 separate shippings it should still be roughly the same price.

well,

the way i purchased the machines was that i was purchasing like 1-2 machines every 10-15 days. So i had to pay shipping for each order about 85$, even if it was for the same batch..

I enquired about circuit setup from an electrician here in UK .. apparently 800W requires 3.5amp (approximate) ... so in theory you should be able to run 8 machines off one 30amp/32amp circuit

NO!  Not even in Theory!  A constant load should not be greater that 80% of the circuits capacity.  So a 30 amp circuit should not have a load of greater than 24 amps.

So 6 is the most you should run on a 200-240 volt 30 amp circuit which would be a continuous load of 21 to 24 amps depending on the voltage.

Also a little secret is that these units are using over 800 watts at the wall. 825 to 850 at the wall a more accurate number depending on your PSU.
If you are using less than a platinum rated PSU, or one that delivers a efficiency of 90% or less then it could be closer to 900 watts at the wall.
Any overclocking will increase the power usage as well.

Mining LTC and other alts since 2014 when I thought I missed the BTC train.

People are speculating about a difficulty "explosion" for several months... Many said that at that point the difficulty would be around 400k, 500k, 600k... BS! It's still below 280K!! Obviously the difficulty will grow considerably until the end of the year. But all predictions about the difficulty since the beginning of the year have gone VERY far from the truth. I'm expecting a considerable increase as I said, but people saying it will grow 3x until October... No way! Most people are mining other coins with L3+ (not litecoin).

I personally think that in September the difficulty will be between 320k - 370k .
And if you do calculations, it is still profitable to mine at this difficulty.
I've done calculations with difficulty at 450k , and that made me push the button and buy miners. Litecoin genesis contracts are sold out for too long now.
Also, there arent that many LTC miners. Regardless of the Bitmain ones, the others are lame with a mere 60MHS speed etc..
I don't know how many pieces Bitmain's batch have... But i dont think it's in the thousands... way below 500 units i think...
Anyway, all is good , positive vibes only!

Thats what I mean. I paid for my 4 miners and PSU over 400$ shipping (import tax excluded)  If I had bought them separately it would be roughly the same price.

Was just looking in amazon, and some advert came up pointing to the site https://bitsmain.com. Looks like official one, but one letter misspelled - bitSmain !!
I guess these are scammers, am I right?
Anyway, any guys here from UK? What is the best option to pay when purchasing Antminer L3+ I guess wired transfer in dollars does not work from UK  Banks, so should I pay in bitcoins?
And what is your experience with UK Customs?
