PC power supply is not a good solution. Why? Cause L3+ works continuously. Cause needs 9xPCIE.
Good 850W/230V computer power supply is 87% efficiency (80 plus GOLD), so only with Gold, Platinum Certificate. But power should be greater - do not use 90-100% power supply limit. However, good power supplies can handle it such as the Corsair CS850M, which has a continuous power of 850W for 12V line and peak power of up to 935W. But what if it has only 4 PCIE slots?
Better use power supplies for servers. So APW3++ from Bitmain will be ok.

Yes, I was planning on taking the gold version. There are 8 PCIe connectors. Another one from the Molex through the adapter.

My advise is, that take the HP 1200W server power supply or supplies (depending how many miners you got, 1 Miner = 1 PSU) and you are good to go.

Yeah, word of caution, I received my L3+ machines two weeks before my APW5 power supplies so it may not be a bad idea to purchase your power supplies elsewhere to be sure you have them ready to go. The ones from Bitmain aren't any more special than similar server power supplies you can buy elsewhere for similar prices.

But use the calculators available online and you can look at it yourself.

You could use it instead of a heater during the winter, it would cover your electricity cost. Now when it's getting colder my 1080ti x 7 GPU rig warms up the living room.

PC power supply is not suitable for continuous operation generally and even if you have a strong 12V line you will probably need to restart it at some time. So be careful with that choice.

Do not buy anything from BITMAIN until , 5 days delivery or new policy ,
They changed their strategy since they has strong enemies , so they will fool all their clients to maximize profit . It is like their last hit.
They are selling excessive amount of miners to dominate market but when you receive miner it already become heater,drier whatever else.
Dont buy ant antminer anymore ,my suggestion.

Yup, I call it " Procrashing ". Went from my primary to my tertiary pool. They don't have enough capacity and doesn't seem like the brothers are in a hurry to expand. When it goes over their capacity they kick some miners off. Seemingly randomly.
