Even though I had my chips refunded, I'm hoping to hear what is available for purchase now that everything is working. Is it looking like a miner can be purchased with instock chips? Patience, I know, patience.

Im not clear on how the fans are powered. I thought they were powered from the Klondike itself.
Do we have to get cables for the fans? what kind of cables? Molex to 2 pin adapters?
Yes you need to power them,I made my own 4pin molex cables Why did you make the power connect? We will have a diykit included with our miners...

What exactly are those cables, then? I don't see 4-pin ATX type there. What is the one plugged into itself? Six-pin PCI-e extension cable?
I have been trying to prepare for my boards, I have a bunch of power supplies that have four or five four-pin ATX plugs that used to be for old-style IDE hard-drives, I was going to get a bunch of converters to turn those into six-pin PCI-e, is that what I need?
What is that little cable, for the fan? What does it need from the power supply? A local shop has a lot of things that splice in a tree pin female fan connector with only two actual pins in it between a male and female ATX four-pin so as to allow the four-pin still to be useable while the fan connector also gets in there. Would that work?

Because I needed longer cables with more "outlets" or connections & I figured I'd save Steamboat a few bucks(I picked mine up in person,so he he could have the shipping fee too),not much, but every bit helps

Yes,its a 6 pin PCIE extention or a splitter, they have them also.Next you need a USB to mini cable, like for camera. The little cable on the bottom is for "daisychaining" I got some of these, get the pins too: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1926/ele-94/FrozenCPU_ConnectRight_Standard_4-pin_Male_Connector_-_Black.html& scavange the 2-4 chained molex cables from old PSU's Same for PCIE: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8620/ele-361/FrozenCPU_ConnectRight_6-pin_Male_PCI-Express_Power_Connector_-_Black.html?tl=g51c385s1005

Yike I don't want to crimp my own cables. I picked up a bunch of cheap old power supplies and am looking for adapters to use with them.
The place I got them has converters that will convert one four-pin ATX to one six-pin PCI-e and it looks like I will have enough without needing to split one into two.
Any idea how much actual power the boards use? Most of the power supplies are in the 200 to 350 watts range I think, hopefully each of their four-pin ATX connectors can power one board.
This is the first I heard of needing some special kind of USB cable, don't they come with cables? I paid for the whole thing, assembly, testing, no DIY...
All the boards and hubs and so on I got in the past all came with whatever connector cables they needed for data. These don't?

I expect there will be people still chasing chip repayments.
Because I've already paid for a miner/assembly/testing/shipping I expect Steamboat would prefer to go ahead with the order.
If anyone wants to sell 16 chips let me know. Now we have a working unit and we know SB is alive I'm happy to take a miner.

I figure 50 watts per miner as worse case scenario, especially if you OC them above 350-400MHz.Yes one dual 4 pin to 6 pin per board should be fine.200 watt unit I'd only run 3 miners so you don't overload the PSU,always leave headroom power wise.Do not assume 200 watts can do 4 units, its too close to the max of the PSU.Better safe than sorry. The miners do come with cables (PCIE extention & splitter if more than 2 units ordered,USB cable) as seen in jesse's post pic,if you ordered more than one I believe they will include a 6 pin splitter for every two units

Some older power supplies were optimized to output current at 5 volts. If the miner uses 50 watts then the current will be about 4.2 amps for each miner. Make sure your load on 12 volts is less that the current rating of the supply your using.

I see reports of miners shipping. Does that mean the USB bootloader code is finished, or did you have the units shipped as-is?

Pretty sure they are only shipping out as-is units without the USB bootloader code. With any luck, we'll get some good news on that front real damn soon now.

Great packaging no damage. The units look great and had all the cables to connect the units. Great job Steamboat! Edit: These are as-is units as I can get the hardware to program them.

Can you hash with the units as they are? If they are hashing fine, and the bug in the firmware has been fixed, why would we need to re-program them? Just for a 0.5% drop in HW error rate? I've got some units I ordered, and I'd actually like to hash with them before the end of 2013.

Yes they work just fine as far I can tell Not sure what the new updates can do for these, but at 350MHz I'm gettin 5.5GH Temps are 52-59c,but a good fan blowing on the backside helps alot.
