I don't think that Bitmain adds more algorithms to the D3 miner via update, rather they bring out a new miner. Baikal is well known for multiminer, believe that bitmain will definitely not happen.
It won't happen for D3. The D3 is ASIC. The Baikal is FPGA (i.e. less efficient but programmable asic). The ASIC from bitmain is not programmable.

Antminer D3 can work with x11ghost? can i mining sibcoin with antminer d3 ? stratum+tcp://x11gost.eu.nicehash.com:3359 work?
Every algo is unique x11ghost is a algo sourced from x11 but is not the same. x11 mean x11, x11ghost mean x11ghost

@Voskcoin, i epriciate you youtube contribution and your openes. Thaks for the Panda miner warning.
Could you remind what that warning was about, please ? The warning was about the fire hazerds it did caused by users more often then other equipment. Beside that some info about the high noise level and low quality psu. About the overclocked D3 miner, i just read about it. Have no experience with overclocking.

@Bibi187; so if i understand it right. The FGPA chip can change algoritme by bios update (software) and ASIC chip can change algoritme only by a other controllerboard (hardware)? Because todays controllerboard of D3 is only designed for X11.

Not exactly FGPA can be programmable for anything you want with software engineering. ASIC need some hardware engineering, same for hash board. So they can be programmable if when you build it, you do what needed for future implementation.

However in real world, building this stuff in an asic is waste of space and lowers the space efficiency because you'll have parts of the silicon that are not being used. It also increases development costs too. Nope, forget D3 being used for anything else but X11 (which it does very very well).

Lets say if there was some miracle with unicorns walking around and stuff, and that the D3 can be updated to add more algorithms, I doubt Bitmain will make that available. 99.99% what they will most likely do, is build the same D3 with updated algorithm and resell them under another name. Bitmain is all about that money!

They will mine the shi*** out of it for a month or to and then start dumping batches out to ruin the ROI for thoes algos as well. But hey, in the end we ruin it ourselves by always buying what they offer, praying for a (good) ROI

Sorry I still don't understand is it possible to change for mining another X11 coins, besides Dash? Many coins use X11 algorithm, don't they?
