Finally updated the Block Explorer code ( http://ancblockchain.com ) . It is little faster.  You wont notice any change in the frontend though. But currently, it runs on nginx . Serves static files using nginx and apache for Abe Explorer.  I am still in touch with @Jtobey , and we may get a lot of performance improvement very soon.

Geekz, backup config etc to make sure you got copies of <working settings> in case of shit/screwup. A snapshot of a VM if it's running in one is maybe the absolute best! Smiley

Yes.True. Will do now.   Smiley

Meeh: I think the article on Anoncoin was not well written and got deleted. Most importantly , What we have to do is , create more sites based on Anoncoin.  Write  more articles in different news sites.  We have to accept that , even though Anoncoin is older, It has received very less press coverage compared to the shitcoins.

What we need is more content on ANC Wiki site and We have to get Other bloggers to write about Anoncoin.
For info, the last wikipedia deletion had nothing to do with the quality of the article. It was deleted on the grounds that Anoncoin is not notable.  In particular, all facts need to be referenced by respectable sources: github, BCT, the anoncoin web site, twitter, and several of the crappy cryptocoin web sites don't count. The first version of the article was poorly written and not notable. The second version (which I wrote) was a speedy deletion, meaning that there was almost no deliberation as the article had been already deleted once before.

I'll combine Meeh's list of press coverage with those on the wiki here by the end of the day: https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Articles_about_Anoncoin_and_Zerocoin

The trick will be referencing these in the main text (as opposed to just listing them as reading material at the end of the article).

......And this is why I created a bounty on 1) Get it there , or 2) Get those other fucks out of there.

If wikipedia mods want war, they shall have it!

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.

Genaral Meeh, we are ready for war!!

The page at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anoncoin is up now. I can edit it and add more information to it, but the test now is passing the wikipedia mods with the base article.

Please check for errors.

There is no rational explaination for this. Most of the Coins listed should normally be deleted, they aren't.
It was the same with Zetacoin, we did a very great page on Wikipedia about it, with references, mentionings and many more stuff.
Deleted.
I think it depends heavily on the people who are guarding these kinda things.

Eventueally.. when Coins gain members and broadly attract some media, they might be staying for whatever reason.

@meeh, don't get mad about it ... ANC will get more media coverage once things are being done... right now it's a wasteland.... sadly.

We would need videos on youtube... a new wallet version with coin control... some tutorials and in the end ZC.

+1

We do not need them, we have wiki with more info than all info in 5 coins what is not deleted.

But lunokhod2/geekz will resolve that soon I think.

On a separate issue, an old quote from https://forum.anoncoin.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=499
"Hi Anoncoin, we are BTC38, the bigest exchange from china.
Hope everything is fine.
Any news about Anoncoin, please send me a copy. thanks.
email: btc38.business@foxmail.com "

Almost all of their volume is in Chinese yuan, very little in btc. So Chinese people are trading anc basically without news, reacting in a very delayed way to cryptsy. It would be nice to give some news sometimes to them.

When a Chinese person looks at btc38's description of anoncoin, and this is perhaps 90% of potential anc Chinese enthusiasts, under "problems with this coin" they see "Inadequate application of small, official support is not big enough" according to google translate.

So some effort has to be made to solicit opinions from Chinese and other non english speakers.

Then once we have their opinion we can invade their country and teach them english.

Yes. True. I will email them about ufo-client. I am sure they would like to publish the news.

 Cool

You can get credit for the taoist reference. Lao Tsu was a real master. And Meeh can get credit because one of my best teachers was a norwegian guy in the 1970s who barely spoke english but was somehow an english teacher. Sigard Haaland was a wwii hero and one of the best people anyone would meet but how he became an english teacher is unknown.

Still, english is the international language. If your country is going to be invaded, most likely the invaders will be speaking english.
The american empire is about over now. If you are going to be invaded, it is likely that they will speak chinese.

There is no work of Gnosis. This is just a copy/paste of the unfinished zerocoin release, nothing to see here.

I'm curious if September is still a realistic estimate, something tells me it's not.

September was expected date x2 by Gnosis.
I ask me why Ian Miers's team stopped working on Zerocoin for a better version named Zerocash?
And today, another coin promise zerocoin and make the news instead of anoncoin:

1. Because it's easier to implement zerocash, zerocash is not trustless.

2. Librexcoin uses zerocash, see 1.

From anoncoinwiki:

Zerocash is the name of new anonymous cryptocurrency protocol developed by some of the same authors of the original Zerocoin protocol. Although Zerocash and Zerocoin share several similarities, there are some important differences. Anoncoin will not implement Zerocash as it requires trusted third parties for the initial setup.

Pros
In Zerocash, there is only "one" currency, as opposed to Zerocoin which possesses two (the anoncoin base currency and zerocoins). Confusingly, in the paper of Ben-Sasson et al. (2014), the Zerocash anonymous currency is referred to as zerocoins, even though these are different from those of the original Zerocoin protocol of Miers et al. (2013).
All Zerocash transaction are anonymous: There is no need to convert between zerocoins and a base currency as was necessary in the original Zerocoin protocol.
In Zerocash, there are no restrictions on the amount of a transaction. This is opposed to the original Zerocoin protocol, where zerocoins are minted only for a given denomination (or set of denominations).
In Zerocash, not only is the payment origin and destination hidden in the block chain by zero-knowledge proofs, but so is the transaction amount.

Cons
Whereas Zerocoin can be set up in a trustless manner using RSA UFOs, Zerocash can not. The initial setup of Zerocash will require trusted third parties.
The total money supply of Zerocash can not be monitored. If there is a security flaw in Zerocash (either with the initial setup parameters being known or cracked, or with software bugs), this would go undetected, potentially resulting in massive inflation of the money supply.
