I'm trying a series of experiments to raise Devcoin's profile (trial and error to see what works and what doesn't). Need people to help to make it work though.

The old devcoin client we are still on uses older openSSL(openssl-1.0.0d)... im not sure if older openssl's are affected or not.

Apparently pre-1.0.1 aren't vulnerable http://www.openssl.org/news/vulnerabilities.html

Had a look at code docs https://gitorious.org/devcoin/devcoin/source/4e23c180945785c49bbab682b7f6c6e1eda29b05: and all I could find confirmed what you said - version 1.0.0d (with references to Unix 0.9.8g and OSX version 1.0.0). New client's still in merge-mining test?

I am so sorry Smeagol Sad It has moments of brilliance... when my $*&^% hosting provider actually provides.

I have got new hosts migrating my sites now, so mad at my current ones I could slap someone, all my clients sites are down, server status s "degraded"...should be "disgusting" to charge money for this sh**. Phone support have no idea what they are doing and now they have "lost" my client sites? This, after previous BS has finally prompted me to move (after 7 years loyalty)

Besides sucking for my clients who must be almost ready to bail on me by now, the whole fiasco makes me look like a dick when I launch a newsletter across the internet and no-one can access it. It doesnt do Devcoin any favours either. I am really, really sorry guys.

I am sorting it as quick as I can but for the next few hours 'Im going to sleep while the new hosts migrate everything because it's been a rough night and there is nothing more I can do this end.

If you end up looking for a new host in the future, let me know. I dealt with one I hated for many years before moving, and after 8+ months I absolutely love my current one. The support I get is AWESOME, the uptime has been awesome (99.98% over 8+ months), and it's just been a great experience.

Who are you with Ranlo? I am already having hiccups with the new one. For now we are all back online, Yay! (very quietly in case a loud noise knocks it down again...)

I use FlipperHost. They're cheap and when you ask for support, it's usually the actual owner that ends up helping out. He's been understanding and patient with me while I try to learn how things work (prior to moving to FH I had never used a VPS before, and now I have no issues with it).

He did have one downtime period for like a day (planned maintenance to migrate to a new dataserver) and as a result gave like 7 days of free time or so -- more than other hosts in the past did. Out of almost a year, this only happened once though.

If you have any questions about them, feel free to let me know!

Thanks, I will, since I posted that I have to say, the new guys with the hiccups got right on the problem, found the error and applied the fix, then gave me my next months hosting free for all the drama! So far migrations are working, 4 sites across to get it right, finally right on he 5th one...will see how it goes from here but if they keep performing the way they are I may have found my new cyber space Wink

There's a problem with the Linux binaries. They're dynamically linked to OLD ASS versions of libraries. I could recompile them if you want.

Please do it, and give the code (method) so others could repeat your work.

Where would they send them?

I may be able to set aside a share for you (about 100k devcoins).
What is your address and is it on your computer or an exchange/web wallet?

Also, are there any objections to this 1-share award?

Hello writers, I am in need of a few people to assist in writing full instructional documentation for crypto and related aspects. PM me if you are interested. I will be paying out in devcoins and we will be creating articles continuously for likely a few months or longer.
