The Bottlecaps CryptoCoin Explorer is now up with the first public build of CCE3.5.

Still some tweaks and a few features to add, but one will get the general idea.  Smiley

Wow! Nice splash. Although maybe an idea to make it a little less prominent below the ticker to improve on readability?
I like this explorer a lot. It's fast and provides in the most important figures!

The number 1 rich list address is a little richer in this explorer too compared to the other explorer so he'll like this one too i Guess!  Cheesy

Is this also the splash that is mend to be on the wallet loading splash? Would work for me. I like it. Although current one is also nice...

Awesome images guys  Grin

that can be used as a splash - and its telling the user to "stand by"

: D

i can upload it as PSD and PNG - but i didn't change the Spec apart from the fact its a little bigger - but as far as i understand a splash can be that size ?

Throws back a bit to Bitjohn's ideas about a custom skinnable wallet - a TV woudl be cool for CAPS each button is a tab etc -

Flound you should put these on the front page for people to see let them comment on prospective Splash - even a Vote.

Is there a recommended block size for this coin? I thinking of buying some!

The bigger the better because that way they stake faster compared to smaller blocks and faster staking means stronger compounding interest. But don't make them bigger than 10K because you risk hitting the max stake reward of 1KCaps.

I think it also makes sense to have, say, at least 1 block staking per day. It's more fun that way.
So for example if you want a position of 10K total, your block size would be somewhere in between 500 and 1000 if you ask me.

is the max stake reward per block a declining equation or does it "taper"

i.e does it start higher than fall off on a slope until it reaches 1000 max per block?

or does it just stop at 1000 total stake and then you would have to move it i guess?

It just truncs the amount at 1000. No sloping or anything. So I guess the best advice is to keep blocks relatively small and stake them regularly.
By doing so, the blockchain is also better protected from attacks as is the money supply against sudden increases from large old blocks staking like once a year. As far as I know, for these reasons HBN will also get a max stake reward in version 1.5

ok i think i understand the motive here now - ok quite a good idea -

PoS is complex and interesting, but its psychologically engaging also, i have noticed.

one more Question  if that's cool..

assuming if staking is 15 days -

and this policy is not in place ( say HBN)

if bob has a 1000 HBN address (block)

and Sally has a 1,000,000  Block -

lets say they both acquired the blocks at exactly the same time etc.

wouldn't they both stake on day 15?

or would they both begin the process and the 1 million block would take a lot longer to actually stake?

they would both start staking at the same time but the 1,000,000 block would, with very high probability, stake first as the bigger the block the faster it gains stake weight.

An example with more real world numbers, I have some cap blocks of less than 5 caps...these can take days of staking before they ever stake, whereas blocks of say 5000 caps tend to stake within a few hours of becoming able.

Hey guys,

I was thinking of getting a few of us that have a decent stake in CAP together and scope'ing out what services and developments we might want to see for Bottlecaps. It would just be pretty casual for now, maybe some exchanges of idea's, plans for implementation and things like this. We could see what we liked and maybe even start on implementing  some of them.

So yeah, anyone that a decent stake in CAP (so we know we know we all share the same plans)  and interested in sharing some ideas send me a pm and I can organise a time for community members to get together online. If things go well we could organise a Caps community development club or something of the like. Anyway, I'll leave the idea out there for a bit and let me know what you think.

ok thank you - but the 1000 max cap would cut the theoretical 1 million block off at a max of 1000 cap return, thus the effective policy of distribution incentive right?

its seems like a good policy.

thanks for the information.

If max reward is 1000 should I split my balance to 12.000 CAP blocks ((12000*200%)/24=1000) to get max possible PoS reward?

Best thing to do is consider max stake age of 45 days.  My formula would then be:

1000 = X * (2/365*45) --> 1000/(2/365*45) = X --> X = 4055.556

You could also change your stake target to be 15 days (the min stake time) but you are more likely to run into the max subsidy because it hardly ever stakes at that time.

Blocks of 5k that were in wallet before 7/4 fork Staked at about 820'ish CAP each after the full 30days. This stake round I tried a larger block size - 12180. Those larger blocks hit 15 days from the 16th-18th. After that I'll likely let them sit split into 6590 CAP blocks until the next stake or I may even re-dist one every day like someone suggested in a prior post so I'm not staking on the same rotation as many others here.

The Bottlecaps explorer at cap.cryptocoinexplorer.com has been updated to the latest build of CCE 3.5

Changes:

The top 100 balance list has been replaced with the "rich" page. The new rich page displays the top 1000 balances and has an owners field. The owners field is a future update that will allow people to claim an address by verifying ownership with a signed message.

The coin information page now includes the genesis block time-stamp message.

A navigation button has been added to the main CCE home page.

Awesome! And nice as well now HBN and CAP are some sort of united on CCE. I noticed little differences in the top addresses compared to http://cap.blockx.info/richlist/ btw.

Any Idea what that could be? Not important but strange though.
