I'm noticing increased talk of X11 ASICs in existence.
I they are real I think this will be great for Quark since it brings back attention to the fact that the Quark algo with its RANDOM hashing rounds is super secure and still ASIC resistant after more than a year (a long time in crypto).
Indeed good news for quark, but i think quark maybe is not that popular yet to build an asic for it or maybe it's not worth it to build an asic for it because of the low price and 1 quark per block maybe?

Yeah for sure for mining Quark at present, even if it was possible, it would not make financial sense to develop ASICs. But ASIC is more difficult for Quark than X11 because Quark has random elements whereas X11/X13/X15 are a stepwise linear process. Dealing with random choices is tough for the ASICs. Not very many poplular algos have remained ASIC free for a long time so that is an accomplishement...Quark and Scrypt-Jane are what come to my mind (XPM prime and PTS momentum etc not included since they are relatively unique not widely cloned). X11 has long been advertised as ASIC resisant but from day1 it was just another obvious mistruth in the long list of DRK bullshit. Problem is many/most people believed in it and believe that it is superior to Quark algo. It will be nice to see the question put to rest. I'll bet if X11/X13/X15 ASICs hit the market we will see another surge of Quark algo based coins being released. Will that have any positive benefit? Who knows but at least Quark is back in the spotlight where it belongs.

I was wondering if it's possible to add a feature to Quark that runs on top of Counterparty?
Perhaps Clearinghouse would be more appropriate, to better match the speed of QRK. Please explain the concept.... Do you mean a trading platform ? Even if there was a good idea, there is no dev activity, i know max is still here maintaining the code but he pretty much left the community in the dust and screwed everyone. yet every day a little anus opens and releases another little turd nugget and it floats to the top of this forum, but never floats to the top of the BNC index?? http://bravenewcoin.com/price/price-index/because these little turds need to be funded by the mother-ship Turd which is of course Bitcoin. but if Bitcoin doesn't keep rising we can't keep funding the little turds? yet Quark stays where it is? and what of the turds that are already floating out there? : D Little turds aplenty, paid in trollcoin probably, floating to the top like meringue on a sweet potatoe pie. Don't worry. Nothing lasts. Even toilet bowls need a rinse once in a while

I'm sorry for those who have done their best for this coin, but max should be ashamed of himself. fuck him and fuck digitalindustry

Actually max guevera did more than average crypto dev - at least he is updating the code. Quark simply didn't get enough steam in highly competitive crypto environment and is slowly fading into oblivion. This was nice try though. digitalindustry is an epic dude that pretends to be some sort of crypto\economics expert(lol ), its sometimes funny to read his ravings.

Is quark still the best option for levelling the playing field in terms of mining capacity in hardware? (most resistant to big industries monopolizing the mining capacity)

Wall like that means someone trying to push price down to buy more cheap. For only ~$5000 I'm thinking of buying that entire wall...pretty tempting.

Max Guevara doesn't exist. Max Guevara is the name of Jessica Alba's character in an old fox tv show. Do you guys now see what I told you months ago? There is literally nothing holding quark together except bagholders, a few angry and disgruntled whales, and large exchange wallets. The community is getting smaller and smaller. If quark drops below 1 million marketcap, which is a real possibility, expect quark to continue to plummet down the coinmarketcap list. There is no technical support for quark below .00001. NONE. Countdown to emotard spewing more BS about quark's "resilience" and "stable" marketcap. Quark is much worse off now than when I sold everything months ago. So glad I got out when I did. I even recovered most of my lost BTC. I hope the rest of u are smart enough to see that you are being given the current gift of undervaluation in other altcoins. Take what little value is left and transfer them to an altcoin with momentum and a real future. By doing so, you are proactively taking control over a longterm mistake and gain a real chance to recover your lost funds. Quark is theoretically a very unique coin but the management of it's value is absolutely dreadful and cannot be trusted whatsoever.

Quark is theoretically a very unique coin but the management of it's value is absolutely dreadful and cannot be trusted whatsoever. So, you suggest to sell with 95% loss against btc and another 66% against usd? Should buyers at the top price really try to recover loss of 97-98% buying another coins with momentum? What is momentum? What do you think who will buy this coin at further possible fall?

Darkcoin goes from scam to scam to scam and people still keep coming back to eat more. Funny that once again their heralded anonymity once again has been shown to be anything but. What a long list of lies...i mean technical mishaps.
Why even compare it to Quark if you have any social conscience?
Strange there has been a number of proDRK comments immediately after my comment about DRK X11 asics in the wild.

"Strange" that there appears sockpuppets of Kolin to confuse people here as soon as something bad about Quark is written in this thread
