I got this from wikipedia

Quote
In Sweden and Finland, meteorologists use a definition for the seasons based on the temperature. Spring begins when the daily averaged temperature permanently rises above 0°C, summer begins when the temperature permanently rises above +10°C, summer ends when the temperature permanently falls below +10°C and winter begins when the temperature permanently falls below 0°C. "Permanently" here means that the daily averaged temperature has remained above or below the limit for seven consecutive days. This implies two things: first, the seasons do not begin at fixed dates but must be determined by observation and are known only after the fact; and second, a new season begins at different dates in different parts of the country.

so it would be entirely possible to have a different summer dates to the US

Wow! If this definition isn't restricted to meteorologists that makes for quite some fuzzy timetables.

You mean discounting the fact that Hashfast is less late than KnC is at the moment?  KnC promised summer delivery and didn't ship until the middle of October.

you realize right Sweden summer is at a different time of year then USA right.

Hum, solstices and equinoxes happen at the same time everywhere and mark the start of the same season for every place in the same hemisphere... Last time I looked the USA and Sweden were both north of the equator. Did one of them happen to travel to the south?

How do Swedes know it's fall?

Well... Apart from linguistic differences and other details... That's exactly the point. It's summer in the southern hemisphere, winter in the boreal one.

I guess that this goes in the list right after "several".

At this point, I just realized that this thread DOES read like a Monty Python skit. Hell, some of HashFast's principles even resemble some of the characters.

Correct. Glad someone corrected that. Or they may have travelled here to Jakarta where there is no winter and it is perpetual summer. There are also things like Spring creep etc so if anything the Summer would come sooner and stay longer I suppose that might have been the posters thinking.

Thats why it was a brisk 20 degrees in Fukushima Japan on March 11, 2011 and it was called Winter locally.

Yet in the USA it was a warm 70 to 85.

You didn't realize it was still winter over there....until you heard all of the reports of people "freezing" due to all their Japanese reactors going offline in the middle of pretty cold weather. That and the radioactive steam that was pluming out of the newly destroyed structures causing radioactive snow.

http://answers.yahoo.com/activity?show=HLN46U7RZTLPZ6HTITSEP3PDPY&t=g

You must not live in the US!  I highly doubt that the entire US was between 70 to 85F on March 11, 2011, lol.  I live in Phoenix, Arizona where it is currently 57F but in Minneapolis, MN where I have family, it is -3F.

On Mon, Jan 20, 2014 at 8:38 PM,
:
Just got a call from Hash Fast to verify my shipping address. Sounds like they might be shipping it soon. Just FYI. I was a Batch 1 Backorder.

  • HF (Aug Cool - Buy your BJ now!  In stock! Shipping Oct 20-30! Payments in BTC only.
  • Me - OK. I'll buy a BJ. Here is 60 BTC
  • HF - Thanks! You can totally trust us. We want our customers to succeed!
  • Me (Oct 30) - Where is my product?
  • HF - There is no product. Did we say Oct 20? We meant Dec 31st.
  • Me (Jan 1) - Where is my product?
  • HF - There is no product. Did we say Dec 31st? We meant Jan 28.
  • Me - If there is no product there is no sale. Can I please get my BTC payment back as per the ToS?
  • HF - No. But here is a USD check worth 7.2 BTC (or 4.5 BTC after paying taxes)
  • Me - ಠ_ಠ ~Dafuq!?
  • HF - Have a nice day! Come again!

Given all this, here are some calculations and estimations, for batch 1 customers.

 * Accepting the offered USD refund would mean a ~88% loss. (Or 92,5%, if you have to pay income taxes after your "sold" BTC.)
 * According to some calculations (which are hard to make, since the delivery date of the MPP is not known), accepting the late delivery,
   and starting mining would mean a ~ 80% - 90% loss.

For those who don't like either of the above two options, especially since we got pulled into this situation by the dishonest behavior of HF, there is a third option: litigation against HashFast.

As I have already mentioned, we have a lawyer, who is managing the mass action case against HF. (For batch 1 customers that have paid in BTC.)

So,
 * if you are a batch 1 customer, and you have paid in BTC, and you have not yet done so, you might want to contact "Ray E. Gallo" <rgallo@gallo-law.com>, and ask to join the case.
 * if you have already contacted him, and got your contract draft, then you were probably invited the the second t-conf, which was held ~5 days ago. If you would like to continue the discussion, please send me the agreed password (or the pass-code of the t-conf), so that I can add you to the relevant mailing list.
 * If you have already signed the contract, you have no further tasks, for now.

I got this from wikipedia

so it would be entirely possible to have a different summer dates to the US

Wow! If this definition isn't restricted to meteorologists that makes for quite some fuzzy timetables.
It is confined to reality.

People are the ones who made up time tables which may or may not match up with actual [sustained] weather patterns.

If you have traveled the world, especially in the airforce, it should be pretty apparent. Considering our BFL friends' attitude, he was probably down below servicing toilets to notice the change.

My first meme ever.

If you really wanted to get your money back, surely you have better things to do than this? It doesn't help your situation in any way, just gives others - who my not be HF customers - an opportunity to hijack your thread.

If I was part of HF's management, I'd be watching this thread in total disbelief.

I liked it.

It reflects the absurdity of the situation.
