400 GH will probably only earn around 5 BTC mining nonstop from now until it is no longer viable.

That assumes a perpetual exponential rise in difficulty of about 80%, which isn't sustainable. E.g. by the end of the year, ASIC companies would have to ship 5000ph of mining power per month, or the equivalent of 4 million KNC Neptunes.

There isn't another leapfrog in technology available like there was from GPU to ASIC.

I would like to think that hashfast would have been smart and like they said have the best interest for their customers by just shipping the MPP right away with the units but instead we will basically end up waiting another probably 90days for the MPP to ship

Never doubt that the mining community will find a way.

I would suggest the future is going to be hosted mining farms. With end users having to pay for pre-purchased slots for computing power.

The next gold rush are miners who have colocation contracts that can handle at least 25 miners. The pre-purchased slots (like version 2 of Pre-Order schemes) will pay for the entire farm long before it pays for the slot.

Seems like it would be more efficient to just buy Bitcoin than rent an asic farm.

I just got tracking. It is Priority Overnight.

Shipped today at 5pm. Expected delivery on Monday before 10:30AM.

Is this what Fedex calls Overnight? 4 days?

It's the weekend bro! FedEx has their regularly scheduled soccer match (with your boxes) on the weekend. Give them a break Tongue

Yeah... I noticed that it said "Deliver Weekday, Residential Delivery, Direct Signature Required" on my tracking.
It was supposed to arrive today before 10:30, but it didn't actually make it to my door until 2PM (left hashfast in California wednesday).
That "deliver weekday" seems that they can realistically only ship Monday through AM Thursday.
The box was moderately, beat up... but there was some pretty hefty styrofoam in the corners, and it is mining steadily at about 420GH/s reported in minepeon, 380GH/s at eligius.

LOL @ refunding the extra you paid for your shipping.

I still don't understand why more people aren't suing these guys.
I guess they'll just get away with it and laugh it out like BFL did.

BTW, Ninjarobot, did you get that call about the MPP today as promised?

They will, just bring it up.

UPS Overnight AM is next day. Not in 4 days. There is definetly an error. Make sure to get a bit of coin back.

I am sorry. But I just don't see them shipping us MPP. HashFast has taken bets on us and failed. Except instead of them paying the price, we do.

Just don't see it happening. I also doubt we get our upgrades within a month.

This should be a lesson for all of us, always good to be truth. The only thing  that Hashfast can do is cash fast your money like hash. fcking pre-orders.

For people who have these running: What hashrate can you push the unit to?

I've put up the first release of cgminer that I've personally tested on real hardware with substantial improvements:

I think spending 5 million on someone else's hardware is a bad move.  With that much capital, they could have hired some asic designers and owned their destiny.  Right now they will never be able to compete against those who really control the keys to the kingdom.
