In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency. I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.
I do not think that the Ethereum will catch up with BTC for the price. Especially to overtake in the price. But it would be very good, because I now invested in the Ethereum. The fact that the total marketcapitalization of etheruem is a half from the bitcoin and it's really possible in my opinion. My guess that the ethereum will try to eat more and more bitcoin market dominance. But i just waiting for the new scalability and hybrid network system that will be implemented in the ethereum. to gives another hype to buy ethereum then. |

I think it's impossible for ETH to go beyond BTC.
Although the ETH is 2.0 block chain, with smart contracts, but please remember that each country only admit the value of the BTC, and there are very few countries directly recognize the value of the ETH, so I want to BTC can never been surpassed.

I think Ethereum can't overtake Bitcoin in few decades at least if not ever. Ethereum is really good for ICOs but overtaking bitcoin is not easy for Ethereum.

I think if ethereum will overtake bitcoin, this won't happen within 1-2 yars. We need much longer time for this to happen, probably around 4-5 years. Plus, ethereum's upcoming pos transition should be successful for this. |

I think Ethereum rised up quickly because of ICO's. They claim their money with Ethereum and they trade them in markets. This situation affect the market volume and market price of Ethereum.

If ethereum over take bitcoin in 2018, that will be a very good news ethereum holder. From all consideration and how famous bitcoin is, it will be very difficult for ethereum to overtake bitcoin in 2018. Bitcoin will continue to dominate among all crptocurrency for so many years ahead.

I really doubt Eth reaches BTC ever. I think ETH will have a great year but don't see it passing BTC.
Anything could happen, I do agree with what you state though most coins will drop in value when they see that no shops want to accept their coin. |

I'm not sure, that it is possible that Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin but I don't think it will happen this year because Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are very strong currencies. If there's a chance it would happen, then it might be on next year, but things keep changing. For me, either Ethereum will overtake all most expensive currencies or not, it is the number one in the Top Altcoins.

We'll never know if it is true that Ethereum will overcome bitcoin. But one thing's for sure. Bitcoin is the first crytocurrency. Bitcoin established a good reputation and makes people trust them. So Bitcoin will always be a number one. It is just that at the moment, bitcoin prices gets dump these days. But I have faith that bitcoin will recover from it and will pumps again.
