Maybe for a minute but not longer than that. Ethereum will always be number two to Bitcoin but they will always both be unique and aren't even comparable.

I am also confident that the ether will never overtake bitcoin. Bitcoin has already taken the position of a leader and not a single coin will replace it.

I do not think that this will happen, since these two crypto currency have a different functional meaning. ETH will be a very successful altcoin, but it is unlikely to be higher than bitcoin. However, the crypto market is very unpredictable, so we can only observe and have investments in both currencies.

ETH and BTC are not comparable and both have different functions in cryptocurrency. ETH - the platform for smartcontracts , Ethereum should not cost incredibly expensive, then transactions in the network will be high.

In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.

If you are referring of what percent of profit we can get into bitcoin or ethereum then i will go to ETH as this coin is not high price token like bitcoin and we can still make 100-500 percent any time. as of bitcoin with high price like now a 100 percent if a short period of time will be hard to get.
but if you are referring to ethereum will have the price more than bitcoin have now, this will be very difficult and maybe next to impossible.

maybe and maybe not cause now as there are very few bitcoins that are left to be mined, once the mining is done and if the demand of btc continues to increase, the supply will get limited and all bitcoins would already have been mined and hence increasing the demand as well as price of bitcoin. whereas eth will surely continue to rise, but has long way to beat bitcoin. anyways let me know what you think mate Smiley GL

Maybe can do that but I think even if it ll overtake cant stay long time there, it ll be for short time. I think btc is boss of crypto and always will stay there.

the biggest of crypto currencies is eth and btc. btc has made a rapid rise and is constantly changing. eth is more stable. It is impossible to cross the bitcoin.

I cannot see ETH taking over BTC. BTC, at least for now, is the biggest and most recognised coin, and name recognition goes a long way!

I do not know if it will overtake the etherium bitcoin, but I do not think it's going to be something like that, but it's not so easy to predict what will happen tomorrow

Ether will not beat bitcoin this year. But in the future it is possible. Many projects start on the ETH.

I think this is a possibility in the future, but we are talking about way in the future.

Remember Bitcoin has been around a lot longer.

I also admit that in several years (less than 5years probably) Ethereum will overweigh Bitcoin and it can cost even more than it. However, I do not think that we will see it in the nearest future (1 year at lest).

I hold both BTC and ETH and hope they both will grow. Also I hope Vitalik could solve the problem with scalability and then we will see ETH for 5000-7000$ in autamn. And I think BTC will go down to 5000-6000$. Whatever it was still have both in my investment portfolio.

Ethereum and Bitcoin are the most popular and currently occupy the leading positions, but no one knows for sure which coin will become the No. 1 in the future. The market of crypto-currencies is not predictable, so no one will answer this question with accuracy

Although ethereum is a very necessary and useful coin, however, there is practically no chance of overtaking bitcoin in value, all the more so already this year. Despite the fact that ethereum is now growing well in price, bitcoin is beginning to eliminate its shortcomings and thus, it may soon and itself begin to grow rapidly in price. It may even be that the price difference between them will not decrease, but only increase.

Why there are a lot of threads about bitcoin being overtaken by ETH, being overtaken by shitcoins, bitcoin is dead and so on. There's no need of telling these things, bitcoin will stay no matter how many speculations out there will  come out about bitcoin. And look on how many challenges that has been threw to bitcoin that contains a lot of FUD, bitcoin is the king and it will never be dethrone for now.

That is very unlikely  Huh  But it is also very likely that BTC is trading too slowly and too expensive. ETH is extremely fast and the transaction costs are very cheap. ETH in 2018 will grow strongly but still can not overcome Bitcoin.  Cool

Of course in our world everything is possible, and as practice shows, nothing and no one rules the world forever, change must come, and the Ethereum in full good for this role, the leader of cryptocurrency!!!
