I'm not sure that the ethereum will overtake the bitcoin. Perhaps ethereum will grow well, but bitcoin is now a very good position for growth, because The lightning network will soon start working. Therefore, it is unlikely that ethereum will catch up with bitcoin.

I agree with you that ethereum will soon take over bitcoin in term of its market cap. Ethereum market cap is closing gap with that of bitcoin everyday and I see it taking it over very soon.

ethereum for now is a ticket-for-icos only. Bitcoin will always stay at first place in cryptocurrency world.
I agreed, most ico they used Eth platform as their starting point in this industry and an opportunity for the bounty hunters also for the investors too. Where China decided to create Neo to become the next into Ethereum due to they've found out that the concept of Eth was effective and has good result. So it maybe true but not this I think. |

Op in as much as i believe in miracle am currently finding it difficult to believe that ethereum will over take Bitcoin in the year 2018 if truly such a miracle can happen in the crypto currency. For any crypto currency to over take Bitcoin it will take a lot of things that really need to happened to Bitcoin and blockchian technology in general. |

In my opinion, it seems unlikely that Eterium will ever cost more than bitcoin, the rest of the world knows bitcoin and its demand is also more than Etherium, only a few countries know Eth, so it is not possible if Eth will surpass Bitcoin.

From my point of view ...Eth is much more efficient and easy to use than bitcoin.
Much less expensive and much faster.
So in the next future it should reach a much bigger value.
Overtaking bitcoin? at the moment sounds a bit irrealistic but who knows???

Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin, but not regarding ownership, as it does in trading and investing. But I think Rippe has more potential than Ethereum because it has increased so many times and a lot of interest. |

What you say is perfectly reasonable, as the exchange rate growth of Ethereum in 2017 surpassed that of Bitcoin, while Bitcoin grew only 4000%, Ethereum grew by almost 10000%. The impressive number of experts predicting that 2018 will be a boom year for Ethereum, though it may not have completely replaced Bitcoin.
I know it can be happen but not in near time and it will be very difficult. Talk about percentage of rising maybe etherium won but its just etherium has smaller price than bitcoin. Hiwever nothing impossible, lets see in the next future. |

I think, yes, this coin has been steadily increasing its rate even though its just a slow increase, but I think to surpass the rate of bit coin is gonna be a hard battle for ether, bit coins value is just so high up that I think no other coins could surpass that even for a whole year. But I thing ether has a great future ahead of it, as well as its investors. |

Ethereum could possibly overtake Bitcoin any time in the future as the highest value of crypto currency but it won't take over bitcoin as basis of conversion and trading when converted to paper money. Because bitcoin already established a good foundation in the market a lot of ledgers already accept bitcoin as the basis for trading.

Are you sure? for now ethereum does have a better price than other coins, but it is so much different than the bitcoin price, so I think it would be a little difficult if the ethereum overtook bitcoin, and it would take a long time until ethereum could exceed the bitcoin price. There are absolutely 0 chances for ETH to take over BTC. After all these ICO's cooldown the marketcap of Ethereum will drop down dramatically. It's not even the best platform for tokens anymore, the blockchain constantly gets clogged. There are far better platforms for tokens nowadays and people will figure that out soon.

I personally keep my conclusion that with the present price of Bitcoin about IDR 140.000.000,- and Ethereum IDR 15.000.000, It is really a small opportunity and possiblity for ETH to overtake the price of Bitcoin. The most possible one is to grow up and price may become higher and higher.
This year ETH price can rise its price gradually with the support of official authority. With no controversy and debate on this cryptocurrency, all kind of coin will grow faster and people will invest in this crypto to earn profit for their investment. In summary Ethereum will not overtake Bitcoin in the near future and the possible one is to grow together.
