Thanks for the feedback on the S1! Sounds better and better...

I might ever consider replacing the stock fan and/or adding a second. Any thoughts on that or are they pretty solid as they come?

not so sure you want to do this.  but some people have done it.

the stock fans move a lot of air. many so called quiet fans do not move a lot of air.

Terrible luck! 6 out of the last 10 blocks the CDF's are in the red. Only one in the green...

10 blocks is very little. It will happen once in a while that there are a few bad luck blocks grouped together, just like it will happen with lucky blocks.

Payouts over the last 500 shifts:

https://bitminter.com/stats/rewards

We are a small pool now and considering that fact the luck has been remarkably average. Sure we had a few lucky and a few unlucky rounds. But all in all it's very close to average.

Can anyone explain that on https://blockchain.info/nl/blocks/BitMinter it states that there are 7 blocks found by Bitminter at 2014-03-11
while the Bitminter stats only show 1 block on that date HuhHuh

It seems like Bitminter is forgetting to list its found blocks. Where are the rewards for the 6 blocks from 2014-03-11 Huh?
Are we being ripped off ?

blockchain.info is lying, not Bitminter. I asked them to fix this, but they won't even reply.

Please use this website instead: http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/

Although you can't with 100% certainty attribute a block to a specific pool, at least this site is actually trying to do it right.

Anyone got an answer for this?  I crosschecked slush, and the blocks they had tagged as theirs showed up in the stats.  More missing than there right now when cross checking against bitminter.  Also, is there a way to go back more than 4 days?
Also, Slush is about double bitminters GH/s, and correspondingly, they are showing 2x as many blocks on blockchain.info.

Ok, have a look at the block at height 290021. blockchain.info says Bitminter mined it. But at the Eclipse pool they are saying they mined it. And they paid their miners for finding it.

So there are now two possibilities that can explain this...

Either
A) Bitminter is stealing and Eclipse is paying their members for blocks they didn't find

or
B) Data from blockchain.info is.. well.. useless.

Which one could it be? Hmmm.

I advise everyone who wants reliable information to stop using blockchain.info.

Thanks for the pep talk Dr.  Needed that, LOL!  I'm gonna stick it out this time around.  Last time I left for a couple days, I regretted it. Missed out on a couple quick blocks.

Right.  Luck is luck.  It makes no difference if you switch now or not so long as both pools are honest.  Past luck is not a predictor for future luck.  When I was with slush we had periods of weeks that were super lucky and weeks that totally sucked (like this one).

Hey Doc!

Just been reading about huntercoin, it's SHA256 merge minable and based off namecoin, so it sounds to me like it would be super simple to add (Seeing as how you are very experienced with namecoin and have had one of the longer running namecoin merge pools)

I believe it might even bring a bunch of hashpower onto the pool if you were the first to add it.

Very unique concept anyway, and I'm sure we'd all love to get in on it while difficulty relatively low.

http://huntercoin.org/how-to-mine/hardware/

got no skin in the game yet, it just popped right out and appealed to me as standing out from the usual garbage alts.

Anyway, please would you at least look into it, thanks,

What a streak of lousy luck.... how about merged mining with Mazacoin?

Some premined, yes, but if it works, that'll help the guys on the "rez" (reservation), and that's a not a bad thing to do while mining.

adding a merged coin may help.  also remember that short term a small pool can have 2x or 3x the earnings.  just as easy as 2 or  3   96% percent blocks.

we should make a block about every 10 hours.   but if we pop just 3 blocks a day for 3 days that is good luck. as it would be 9 blocks in  72 hours.  instead of about 7 blocks.

I was at btcguild for a while but I decided to switch back . I have around 720gh added back in the form of 4 ant s-1's

I also purchased red jockey undershirt and t-shirt just to wear for this pool.  may the luck be with us.

Hey guys! Fairly new-ish to bit coin mining, though getting some decent hardware in now - TerraMiner IV's. What I am new to is merged mining and name coins. I have run into a bit of a snag, and I really have no idea how to address it. Please point me in the right direction if I am way off base.

I have set up my namecoin wallet on mmc-wallet.com and I have pointed Bitminter there. They have loyally been sending the coins off to my wallet, but most of them are not showing up (we are only talking a little over 1 at the present time...oooohhhh...$3.50!!), but I want to understand how I can get this resolved.

Messages to the wallet web site have gone un-answered - you get what you pay for there I guess (free).

Anyway, nmc-wallet shows two transactions, however, when I go to  the amecoin block explorer I see 5 transactions. the first and the last transactions are in my wallet, while the other three are...HuhHuh I don't know where....... http://explorer.namecoin.info/a/NDwn9qsGYZwaFZN4iVM5seP3Y8MnMDYRsg

How do I go about reconciling this? I would think they would have to be the same? How would I access the coins that are not in my wallet? It is 100% on-line.

If anyone knows, or could pint me in the right direction, it would be appreciated. I would love to learn a lot more about this and nip it in the bud before it becomes a real issue, but I don't have a ton of time to sift through a lot of irrelevant or outdated information, so I am hoping someone could help me with what they may know or help me avoid wasting a lot of time.

It would be appreciated.

Thanks.

you may have lost that money  …

join www.vircurex.com  use the nmc address they give you    they are an exchange and will let you convert the nmc to almost any other coin .

I have used them since aug 2012  the link above is non referral. ie use the link above I get no money or coin.

https://vircurex.com/welcome/index?referral_id=756-12066

use this link I get 1% of the transaction fees you generate on the site. Like when you change the nmc to btc  they charge a small fee to you and give me a small piece of it.
you do not pay extra

My nmc shows up on vircurex pretty well since aug 2012

Well, sounds like mmc-wallet.com 's screwup to me, if they are not at all helpful, see if you can export your private key(s) and import it into a local wallet like multibit, then theoretically they should appear when that synchs up.

(I have had no problem transferring into vircurex either, but use btc-e now, which is also reliable, hacks at vircurex make me nervous of them now though, change password frequently and use a unique one for that site, it's good practice to do that anyway)
