Apparently, we buy NXT as we buy stock from a company. So 1 NXT== 1 Vote is more reasonable. 1 Account == 1 Vote is nonsense because account can be created freely and rich people always can split his account into lots of small accounts. 1 NXT == x Vote is also impractical. we can't decide which NXT has more weight. yes, give rich people more power is not democracy, but is the way a real company run.
Well this is not a company, you bought no shares from no shareholder. if 1 acc= 1 vote is nonsense, then 1nxt=1vote is even more.This excludes everyone at all. Do not get shareholders and stakeholders mixed up now  What you are saying is: "ok, with 1person=1vote so many accounts can be created and i do not know how to avoid this, so ill go ahead and hide it under the carpet, and forbid voting for everyone who is not a millionaire." There have been interesting ideas on the table. 1 zillion Nxt = 1 zillion votes is not one of them. If you are going to rig the system from the beginning, dont rig it towards the millions, rig it towards the newcomer in the market. |

My theme would be slide after slide: Bitcoin problem, NXT solution: currency distribution, blockchain bloat, PoW arms race, 51% attack, block confirmation speed (10 min vs 1 minute), transactions per second (1 currently / 7 max for BTC, 10,000 ultimate goal for NXT), etc. etc. etc.
Excellent strategy rickyjames! All you need to emphasize are instant transactions, earning coins from forging, anonymous messaging, and soon an anonymous marketplace - why on earth would anyone want to stick with Bitcoin?!  Don't go totally negative...people are gonna be shifting in their seats by around the 3rd negative anti-Bitcoin point. Emphasise NXT's strengths, not Bitcoins weaknesses. Make sure that the concept of NXT as an ecosystem, not purely a currency, comes thru strong. Roger. If I am selected as a speaker, one thing I want to do for sure is throw two or three boxed Raspberry Pis into the audience during the talk. "NXT nodes! Get your cheap NXT nodes!" Focusing more on the green angle of NXT. As everyone worthy of attention knows: global warming is a increasingly serious issue on this relatively small planet of ours and so everyone is looking for energy efficiency. As most of us NXTers already know: NXT requires almost zero energy compared to altcoins. At first this might not seem like a big deal because "How much could the other altcoins really consume anyway?" To which the sad truth is: A LOT. A LOT even in the global perspective. There are some math here: www.bitcarbon.org which shows just how ridiculous Bitcoin mining and all mining coins really is. They are like the coal/oil of cryptocurrencies while we are the future solar/fusion powered clean crypto. This is a ever increasing big issue in a world that is desperately looking for ways to save power. How can Bitcoin/Anycoin be the future of economics if it relies on 19th century like primitive technology that ruins our planet? It can't. We should really start pushing this angle and perhaps even donate to some green projects to really make our mark as the environmentally friendly futuristic currency. Should we make a video about this? I think so. Where we outline just how ridiculous the energy consumption of the coins are compared to NXT. Someone over at nextcoin.org calculated that NXT is ~2000 times as energy and cost efficient as Bitcoin. That is HUGE Global warming is an issue for idiots, the science is lousy, and the people touting it are usually a**holes. More importantly though, the crypto-currency community leans heavily (very heavily!) toward the Libertarian crowd. We will turn off the biggest part of the potential converts if we start sounding like Democrats or European politicians. If there is one issue big government loves more than global warming it is difficult to tell. And if there is one group who hates big government more than Libertarians it is equally difficult to tell. Stop it already with the "green" emphasis. Please. |

Let's so not get into a debate about Global Warming. Not even slightly. We will waste way too much time, got better things to do. Energy consumption and energy conservation is important, offsetting emmissions is very PR friendly and can be a great USP for NXT if played right. Thats it. I know its tricky, but lets leave some of our personal opinions/beliefs at the door. |

Maybe this is a wise recommendation, since there are so many people who don't believe in global warming and so many people who believe in global warming. This shouldn't get in our way. The people who don't "believe" in global warming choose to ignore about 97% of the science community. Global warming is a scientific fact by now. Don't really see why we should care about them. Anyone who thinks global warming is a fact has not studied the issue. What they have done is watch MSNBC or European politicians say that it is a fact and accepted that as gospel. But that doesn't matter for now. What matters is the Libertarians hate big government. Big government loves global warming. Libertarians make up a huge portion of the crypto community. Are you getting the math here? Sigh...probably not. Why do we want to bring in a polarizing political issue into the middle of this? Mention that this coin doesn't mine and waste all of that energy? Fine, but leave it at that. |

These won't work. They are easily defeated by splitting your wealth over several accounts. |
