Heard on the rumour mill that US is planning a false flag on Ukrainian territory, involving detonation of a nuclear charge and then blaming Russia so as to have an excuse to start military operations. Again, this is rumour only, but if true, it's best to be aware of it to stop anyone contemplating such a move.

@22marka: Do you jump a lot? It is said excessive jumping can lead to brain concussion and internal cranial haemorrhage. Galicians might be a test bed for such research.   Tongue

Nemo1024: reading your posts I start to think that you have huge psychological problems. Maybe you cannot stand the fact that situation in Russia is going deeper every day. Maybe you start to realize that all stuff you believed in is wrong, your government was and is using you, saying complete bullshit about the world. And maybe it is so painful to realize the truth that you continue to believe in that bla-bla you have been told - the USA is your enemy, the USA is going to attack the Saint Russia. They don’t care about you. They don’t need your degraded society, spoiled by the government.
And if you too naïve to believe that Russia doesn’t stand behind the beginning of the war with Ukraine, then, you can consider yourself to be a child with brain disorders.

Oh, and my government is not Russian, something that you'd know if you read my posts.

Poroshenko was met with more protests in Poland, from those who remember the Wolyn massacre and UPA, that are now the heroes in Ukraine.
Recently Poroshenko reported to Polish parliament on pulling Ukraine from non-block status, and today he sent an urgent law proposition to Ukrainian Rada to this effect.

Meanwhile, EU said that they don't have money to lend to Ukraine, and threatened Russia with more sanctions if Russia does not give Ukraine money for free.  Roll Eyes

Russia will respond to the US' aggressive law on Ukraine, symmetrically, but only after having observed how US implements their law. Meanwhile, US is sending Ukraine 35 armoured off-road vehicles:
http://ria.ru/world/20141219/1039261306.html

Rada's committee (unsurprisingly) supported the law cancelling Ukraine's non-block status:

Turchinov will keep an eye (censorship) on Ukrainian MSM:

The reasons why these ratings should be taken with a healthy dose of scepticism:
Belarus has better industry and infrastructure than Russia - Belarus avoided the oligarch plunder of the land that plagued Russia during the Wild 90's.
Russia has much less debt and larger gold reserve than USA. While state corruption is approximately the same (in USA it is simply legalised)
Smiley

EDIT: Another example: Norway. Rated for some reason as AAA. Norwegian krone has been following the same trajectory as rouble, peaking at the same time. Tabloid VG had a front-page article, explaining how the new high rates will hit common Norwegians. Norway has no gold reserve - everything was sold off in 2006:

"Hereditary gold that disappeared" (in Norwegian)
http://21917.vgb.no/2007/11/07/arvegullet-som-forsvant/

Yesterday, prime minister tried to calm everyone, saying that Norwegian economy is doing fine, yet even MSM journalists from Aftenposten sounded doubtful, when commenting her speech.

Ukrainian gold: A control of Odessa branch of Ukrainian central bank revealed several ingots that turned out to be gold-plated lead. The swap happened sometime in August.

http://rt.com/business/216687-gold-missing-ukraine-bank/

Quote
Cunning fraudsters have conned the Ukraine Central Bank branch in Odessa into buying $300,000 worth of gold which turned out to be lead daubed with gold paint.

Despite the blockade of Crimea (or maybe because of it, as Kiev is using it for blackmail), Russia is supplying Kiev with:
 - 9 billion kW of electricity and
 - 500000 to 1 million tonnes of coal, so that Ukraine won't freeze this winter.
All is done at Russian internal prices (in other words heavily discounted), and without demanding pre-payment (and we all know that Kiev does not pay - they steal, so this is a de-fact New Year present).

I am not exactly sure why Putin went to this step. On one hand he is showing to Malorossians (Novorossians are self-supplied with coal, while Galicians who are currently in control are beyond reasoning), who really helps Ukraine, and not just gives empty promises, like EU does. He also ensures that Malorossians and Russians in Ukraine do not freeze.

As Peskov said:

Quote
“Against all the odds as President Putin said earlier in the hard times he had never given up the consistent policy towards supporting the Ukrainian people and providing real and not eventual support, due to the critical energy situation Putin took a decision on such supplies regardless the absence of prepayment, which is the condition of making them,”

On the other hand, he prolongs the suffering - freezing people of Ukraine would have been more likely to rise against the Galician usurpers in Kiev. Those usurpers, as I said, are beyond any reasoning, and will only think that they blackmail works, and drive Ukraine even deeper into the gutter.

Meanwhile, USA plans to relocate their lethal forces from Afghanistan to Ukraine, which raises a few eyebrows:

http://rt.com/news/218067-us-afghanistan-ukraine-weapons/

Quote
Kabul is against Washington's alleged decision to transfer weapons and machinery left from its military mission in Afghanistan to Ukraine, an Afghan presidential administration official told TASS. The issue will be discussed with Obama, he added.

American specialists in Afghanistan are currently preparing US army MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles to be transferred to Ukraine, according to the information obtained by the Afghan presidential administration. The US combat mission command refuses to discuss the issue with Kabul, saying the White House is in charge, a representative of Ashraf Ghani’s administration told the agency.

But, as everyone knows, in the end US always lies:

Quote
Washington has previously ensured Kabul that the US military equipment and weapons, used by its combat mission in Afghanistan, will stay in the country to be employed by the Afghan army and law enforcement, according to the official. He added the country planned to use it in strengthening its fighting capabilities against Taliban forces in the country's south.

Until now Ukrainians went to Russia to work, using their domestic passports and without seeking work permit. This preferential treatment that applied only to Ukraine will end on the 1st of January 2015.

Ukrainians will now be required to hold a valid international passport, and to apply for work permit, which in turn entails passing exams in Russian language and Russian history. (Those Ukrainians, who are currently in Russia as official refugees will get special treatment because of their difficult position.) Given that the majority of 500.000 Ukrainian guest workers come from Western Ukraine, the result of this law will be interesting to observe. This may reduce the flow of Ukrainians into Russia by 20-30%

I wrote a somewhat wrong number of Ukrainian guest workers in Russia. Per 2013 there were about 1.5 million of those, and only 500.000 of those are legal workers (that were paying taxes). According to Ukrainian sources, about 2 million Ukrainians worked in Russia in 2008 (and another 1.7 million in EU).

The consequences of the above law is more far-reaching, than meets the eye. Not only does it touch individual migrants, it also touches the economy of Ukraine, as about 25% of Ukrainian BNP comes from the income sent home by these workers (this number is total for all Ukrainians working abroad). This indirect subsidy of Ukrainian economy by Russia is now discontinued. Ukraine will also need to produce a lot more of those international passports for those, who would still like to work in Russia legally.

Kiev continues to play with energy, at the cost of safety and people's lives.

Gas: Kiev decided not to pre-pay gas deliveries for January, so it seems they don't need gas in Ukraine. This may be a dire sign for Europe as transits might be compromised.

Nuclear power: Zaporozhje nuclear plant had indeed had a leak, with radiation levels exceeding 16x the normal level. More such disasters are expected.
http://lifenews.ru/news/147890
http://rt.com/news/218807-ukraine-nuclear-plant-leak/

And the killer-news. Yatsenjuk signed an agreement with American Westinghouse for deliveries of nuclear fuel rods, which are incompatible with the Russian standards, used in the power plants in Ukraine. Similar experiments with American rods resulted in a small disaster in Chechia, and several in Ukraine. Now, these rods will be used in even larger scale, and this may lead to many Chernobyl-class disasters in the coming months.
In Russian: http://tass.ru/politika/1681134

In English:
Moscow says Ukraine’s switch to US nuclear fuel threatens European safety
http://itar-tass.com/en/world/770082
Quote
Experts fear the sharp switch from Russian-to US-produced nuclear fuel as it could pose a threat to the safety of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, which were built in the Soviet Union era
