I can't believe Ukrainians want to join EUSSR or RUSSR.

I think the main problem with Ukraine is too much power in the hands of politicians (as everywhere), which goes very well with rampant corruption in poor countries. I guess main issues is their constitution, that allows this concentration of power - good luck changing this with the very same politicians and the same voters, because of this significant constitutional changes occurs only after real revolutions or after wars.

You are right but the problem is that the current situation in Ukraine is a result of manipulations of Putin. The amount of propaganda being used in eastern regions of Ukraine is gigantic. People there are confused and don't know who to trust, also we need to remember that referendum should be made in time of peace to be legal.
