Hey I just got some great news i had one miner that was only getting 6/16 asics so that is getting replaced too and the tp-link so they will send me two replacement boards and a new tp-link free of charge but is there someone in the EU who has a miner with a broken  hashing boards so I can keep mining the 70gh/s with the damaged boards or just a controller board i could buy psu's myself....

I'm in the Netherlands btw...

[edit] nevermind they sent me 2 hashing boards not 2 full modules

The only way I ever got 100% uptime was with 1200. And that's how I keep it now. Even at 1250, the fans go crazy and it shuts down eventually.....so 1200 is my lucky number. I runs about the same or a little more than an antminer.....about 190 gh/s. I'll take it....no headaches or downtime at all.

Do these miners require a stratum address, or will an http address from a p2pool be just fine?

So, has anyone with these btmine units actually gone up to 1600 MHz?  I saw it was mentioned earlier, but I'm not sure it wasn't just suppostion, especially with other similar clones only running 1250 or 1300 MHz.  Right now I'm happy with 1500 MHz running solid for 2 days straight.  No high error rates or temps.  But, if I'm throwing perfectly usable cycles on the floor, well, I'd rather not - comes from my SETI/BOINC/Prime days...  Wink

1600 OC stable but HW rate goes up to 10% and 1028w from wall.

1500 OC is the sweet spot 961w from wall. Under 4% HW error and hashrate stays around 230GH/s

I think it's very important to have good power supply. You will also save easy 100w electricity with it.

2x Stock PSU @1400 = 946w from wall. @210 GH/s
-edit- Stock PSU settles to 999w after 1 hour
2x Stock PSU @1500 = 1060w from wall and they will blow out at some point dont wanna try.
2x 1kw PSU @1500 = 961w from wall. @230 GH/s
2x 1kw PSU @1600 = 1028w from wall. @+230 GH/s 10% HW errors not worth it.

For those who dont know PSU will perform better when not tortured full. So you will save 100-150w Electricity by getting good PSUs

NEXT coming from Sikke: Watercooling 101
(i have watercooled CPUs from 1999. i put AMD Duron 700 --> 900Mhz)  Roll Eyes

That did the trick. But isnt this dangerous ? No overheat protection ? I have temp1 at 21° where does that come from as i have only one sensor...

This is for you. You can get the unit very silent  Cool simple to install. Temp sensor still works as safety backup for overheating. 70c @ cgminer will shut down.

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/water-cooling-kits-for-Avalon-II-BTC-miner-BTC-200Gh-s-miner-BTC-mining-machine-BTC/1578317468.html

Has anyone tried to buy and install the watercooling kit?

Thx 4 the temp sensor tip: my miner was stopping the fans after replacing the tp-link module....

BTW: Anyone want to buy a fully functioning  ava2 with one extra spare hashing board? I'm in the Netherlands

I have watercooling kit on one unit. Its nice but noth worth it.

You will find broken blade by touching the chips with finger, when it wont hurt its the broken unit.

thx for your advice Smiley

hey I can't get my hashing board loose from the module heatsink how have you guys managed to get them loose? And do I need thermal paste to reattach the new one? It's the third one in the row, so do I need to take the 4th off first? they just seem to be really well stuck to the heatsink...

Any help much appreciated!!

Hello

You will probably need to remove the fourth one to remove the third.  They are adhered by a thin rubber "heat transfer" material.  Remove this and use plenty of cpu thermal paste when you put it back on, it will cool better.  You would really be better off fixing all boards with thermal paste while you have the unit apart.

It's getting way too hot to run mine in my house, too.  Anyone want to buy mine without power supplies?  With reasonable cooling, it runs fine at 1500 MHz (even 1550 MHz), with no bad modules.  Make an offer in private message, or wait until I put it up on eBay.

I have one unit I would like to sell. US only please.

Always ran at 1400 clock with HW errors under 2%, kept fan setting down around 50-70. 215 GH/s stable. Original PSU's were used on a 220 outlet.

PM with offers.
