Quick warning to anyone switching out the PSUs. You must have at least 60a on a single rail for this to work. I have now blown four PSUs trying to get this thing working. It just swallowed up two 750w 53a PSUs.

I have two 650w corsair PSU's with 52a output. Should I try those or just buy some more with 60+ amp output?

Nevermind I just did some more reading. Im going to order bigger PSU's. Sucks I just got my btminer today, now I gotta wait a couple more days for the right psu's to come in.

Do you guys think that they flashed the memory on the TP cards to the point that a hard reset will just get it back to the settings they shipped it out as?

Five hours in and one of the stock PSU's went up in smoke. Didn't leave it on to see fireworks.

Now all my units are back off again till more PSU's come in.

You can change default gateway by clicking the Network tab, clicking Edit on the Lan. Change the IPv4 address, gateway, broadcast to your networks subnet.



I have 192.168.1.1 for DNS since that is my internet connected router (rather than 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.0.1).

It's not. Blade unit was loose but undamaged as it was nicely stuck with other heatsink. Avalon chips are other side of that heatsink they were fine and undamaged. Only Case was bend the fan is eaven working OK. This case is really soft material it wont need much of a hit to bend like that. DHL had something to hit the parcel.

Material cost for this miner is very low.. that psu is 30$ in China. Case is worth 5-15$. Chinese can make this with 400$ once Avalon price goes down.

I just used hand force to pull the case somewhat straight and propelly fixed the blades. The unit as good as new and hashing ok stock speed for few hours.

I prefer FedEx. I do receive computer parts from UPS, but FedEx is the best in tracking details and speed (more expensive )

Could someone post the dimension of the fuse, or what SMD package they used?  Also do they have any number printed on them to help identify what they are?  I ordered a few of these miners so I might as well order some spare fuses. 

Thanks for digging into that problem.  Hopefully the ones I get will be OK but better to be prepared.

Here's all I have on the fuses I pulled:

Surface mount, two square solder pads on the underside of each fuse.

Length 3.4 mm
Width 1.66 mm
Height 1.25 mm

Markings "8 0"

That's all there was.

Is that enough for you to tell us the appropriate replacements?  If so, what is the next higher current?  I'm presuming DigiKey would be fine?

Thanks for the info.  That would probably be a 1206 (3216) sized fuse then.  I tried looking at some manufactures to figure out what the rating would be.  I have not found any matches though.  The 80 probably represents the rating however the various manufacturers do different codes, there is no standard.  And it does not mean 80 Amps.  I asked BTmine for the rating, hopefully they will let us know.  

Took a trip to Fry's last night and picked up a Weller student solding iron, some lead free solder, a soldering braid and a little kit with tweezers and other little pokie things.  I'll hopefully have time to remove some fuses tonight.  Any advice for someone who hasn't soldered since circuits 101 class taken about 20+ years ago?   


Also - I contacted BTMine about the low hash rate, and they seemed to be very eager to help sort out this issue.  I guess I'll try removing/replacing the fuses first and then go back to them for more help if needed.

3 of the boxes came in from the 1/06 order the other was from my original order at the end of the year.  Any tips/advice would be awesome.  If just pulling the FUSE1 and laying solder across it then I can do that easily (and would prefer it vs putting another fuse on LOL).  I want to make this a fast downtime fix as I've battled to many other issues recently.

Hello all. So I received my the unit yesterday. DHL works on MLK day in the US. So at the start i was able to get connected to the machine. I was able to connect from my laptop to the unit via supplied IP address. I followed the direction that was posted via Antminer interface it was the same interface. I then changed the IP to DHCP and connected it to my router. I was able to access the unit after plugging in random IP address to firefox. I went in and added my pool information. I reset and the machine was not hashing at all. I went through the interface and found a list of items that had enable/start/ buttons on them. I went ahead and clicked them and now I can not connect to my unit at all. I pressed the reset button located on the TP-link board but it is not working.
I saw somewhere that someone connected it via USB but not sure what they connected it to. Would I be able to plug this into a Raspberri Pi? On top of that one of the PSU blew. Will this unit still work if one of the PSU is not on? I don't see why it would not. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this damn thing to work. Thanks ahead of time.

Ouch, you should not have randomly enabled things (which you know now) - some of them even warn you that you might lose connectivity, etc.  Also, the TPLink reset sets that device back to stock settings, so you'll have to go to its default IP address now.  You should also be able to connect the USB port to a computer (yes, a rPi counts) running CGMiner/BFGMiner and running the Avalon directly - in cgminer, it'll show up as AVA0 if it was compiled with "--enable-avalon"

Given that output, cgminer is not running at all.  I had that a couple of times when something was wrong with my configuration - double-check the servers, ports, workers, and passwords as a start (btw, your pools need to have the "stratum+tcp://" before the network address).  The default info after your pool info should look something like this:

Now that I've got all the modules working, I've been running at 1500 MHz consistently for the last 24 hours.  No problems at all for me, no reboots, no anomalies.  Did not mess with the fan settings, and am running temps of 34/45 and greater than 96% efficiency.  All

My hash rate is only 230+ ish GH/s, but for now I'm running over homenet/powerline (net over home powerlines) since I don't have a reliable wireless repeater/game-adapter, and I can't get the built-in wireless to work (I can set it up as others have described, and I get good signal (1 room away), but once I unplug the wired connection I just can't get in - that's my next nut to crack with this thing).

Check the back-plane. One of my modules back-plane had a bad soldering joint that was shorted. That worker was hashing extremely slow like yours.
