I had that for a while, but it's not having a negative affect on BTC earnt. I'm averaging over 1 BTC per GPU per day (410 - 420 Mhash/s per GPU). Been like that since yesterday morning.

All miners working perfectly at the moment.

What would be useful is if we had each worker's hash rate on the table, as they do on BTC Guild. You can then tell at a glance which workers/miners are playing up.

How is the price-per-share calculated and how often does it change?

It's (50-fee)/difficulty
Recalculated after each difficulty adjustment

+1

lol

I'm very happy with the service provided. Excellent pool Smiley

I've been wondering about PPS and Prop. What would happen if PPS were to be dropped ?  Is PPS fair to the pool ?  Is prop fair to the miners (being prop I'd say an emphatic YES) ?

You are making those 2 coins more because we had 35%+ better luck in last 24 hours, not because of zero fee :)

Too bad I was having those connection problems in the last 24 hours. Now it works again. Smiley
Also, right before my connection problems started, I found a block for deepbit. After having earned less than 5BTC total from mining. That's luck of course, but now I consider my choice to use pools a bad choice. Grin It's too late for me to start soloing I guess.. As I probably won't find another block within the next couple of years. Cry

The fact that you have found a block in pool doesn't means that you would find it in the same time solo. It could take more time or less time, but each round is different.

UPDATE: the problem is solved.

  • If you still can't connect to the site or the pool it means that you are using wrong DNS server. I would recommend using Google Public DNS, it will work fine in cases of server failover or DDoS protection activity.
  • 4.06.2011 at 00:00 UTC pool's fees will be enabled again

Looks like Yahoo.com mailserver doesn't accepts mail from deepbit. I know about this and will do something soon.

All working fine again here.  The site came back and I could check my balance (using guiminer) but couldn't connect for new hashes.
I restarted my router, as per the kind advice in this thread, and all is back to normal.

Well done Tycho and thank you  Smiley

Site Has been fine for me all day.

I had a suggestion for you Tycho.  It would be GREAT if we could put a small nickname next to each worker. I keep getting them all mixed up.

This was another problem.
Good DNS was needed to use new pool's address.

I'll use another server for sending e-mails soon, but can you please send a note to your mail service support about being unable to receive mail from "no-reply@deepbit.net" ? May be they will add it to whitelist faster.

Does anyone know of a way to limit the videocard usage to like 50% or so in guiminer? I'd love to be active in this pool, but my 4870x2 just can't take the heat (seriously!).  With the fan at 100%, I'm very quickly reaching temps of 90-95C when mining with even just one gpu. I'd love to run both but it would undoubtedly destroy my card.

Yes. I've cleaned out the video card. I do so every two or three months anyhow, and I don't see temps higher than 55C playing games, and not usually higher than 50C at idle.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Make sure you use a chassis with a fan at the front that can actually pull in some nice cool air. A good large 120mm at the back top is also needed to vent out air.

Otherwise you'll just have your GFX slowly heating up the air around the card and it'll continue to make it hotter and hotter and no GFX air cooling solution can help you in that situation.
