Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I'm trying to understand how did you measured that.
How do you know that those "lost" shares are not counted in the current round that isn't shown in history yet ?

That's like asking a mugger to leave some cash in your wallet.

And reduce the fee for PPS, there is not so much risk when blocks are coming in so regularly thanks to this pool being the largest.

7% is the minimum possible PPS fee for our pool, it can't be any lower even in the "compensation" case like this.

"None" is expected if...
1) You are using PPS mode (it's just not shown, but added to your balance).
2) This block was too short
3) There was no connection between your miner and the pool at that moment.

Im using Prop mode.

If I look back at my statistics, at least 50% is "reward none". Is that normal or is something acting up?

Thanks for the fast reply.

Quick question I switched to btcmine.com last night and I am on track to get 20 BTC today with my 7 GHs.
My question is that I noticed on deepbit I was getting 24 coins for 6 GH but once the difficulty changed I dropped down to 16 with 7GHs.  Was this because of the DOS attack or is something wrong with the pool?

I'll switch back in 9 hours after I confirm 20 BTC in 24hrs but if I don't get 20 BTCs I will move back to btcmine.

BTW I only go proportional and what I like about btcmine is it's Top Miner list.  I'm number 2 on the board.

 Grin

http://btcmine.com/toplist/

I use to be a software pirater for BBS back in the day they had the top uploader stats and I loved seeing my name up on the list.  There is something to be said about competition.  After all the bugs are worked out can this feature be added?

The amount you get in a given time frame is based 3 things:

1: The fees of the pool.

2: Your hash rate.

3: The number of blocks the pool finds.

Two of these are fixed, those being #1 and #2: #3 is down to luck. Due to the laws of probabilities #3 is not important over time. However, if you take a sample size as low as 24 hours #3 plays a large role. It would be foolish to base you decision on luck rather than to base it on the known factors.

I can't publish user's e-mail address, so it would require them to set a special nickname for this. Otherwise it's possible.

Of course difficulty jump caused the decrease in the rewards. Also the DDoS protection that i'm currently using in causing some connection problems - that's why pool's fee is removed.

So some users are getting blocked -- caught in the dragnet, as it were?
Are you able to somehow identify the legit users, and filter out just the DDoS attack? Or is it basically impossible?
