Just a question for my understanding

the best shares from my two card rig are

20210420 20:28:53 [ OK ] 188/188 - 126.13 MH/s, 69ms ... GPU #1 | 144.16 G
20210420 20:31:49 [ OK ] 189/189 - 126.10 MH/s, 79ms ... GPU #1 | 10.23 G
20210420 20:35:12 [ OK ] 190/190 - 126.12 MH/s, 70ms ... GPU #1 | 176.38 G
20210420 18:47:38 [ OK ] 129/129 - 126.13 MH/s, 71ms ... GPU #0 | 1.68 B
20210420 18:58:55 [ OK ] 138/138 - 126.12 MH/s, 65ms ... GPU #0 | 1.05 B
20210420 19:43:25 [ OK ] 158/158 - 126.13 MH/s, 73ms ... GPU #0 | 3.57 B
20210420 20:12:39 [ OK ] 177/177 - 126.12 MH/s, 63ms ... GPU #1 | 9.59 B
20210420 22:29:37 [ OK ] 275/275 - 126.14 MH/s, 72ms ... GPU #1 | 1.41 B
20210420 22:52:53 [ OK ] 293/293 - 126.13 MH/s, 62ms ... GPU #1 | 4.21 B
20210421 01:25:19 [ OK ] 407/407 - 126.14 MH/s, 63ms ... GPU #1 | 2.35 B
20210421 03:38:58 [ OK ] 503/503 - 126.14 MH/s, 52ms ... GPU #1 | 1.53 B
20210421 06:31:33 [ OK ] 622/622 - 126.13 MH/s, 61ms ... GPU #1 | 1.31 B
20210421 07:33:52 [ OK ] 664/664 - 126.15 MH/s, 64ms ... GPU #1 | 1.52 B

That mean the best share has a high from 9.59 B ~ 9.590.000.000 Huh
If i are right, i have a long way to hit the diff from 6.98 P
Ethereum Difficulty: 6.98 P (6,982,581,527,136,356.00)

That means the short version "G" and "B" in long format and what will come at next "P"?

Best regards
Willi

"B" thing is a bug and was fixed in 0.20.1, please update T-Rex

Hi. Could you please run this test build and let me know if the auto-fan works for you https://www.dropbox.com/s/9lb0zaubniy9qru/t-rex-0.20.1-win.zip?dl=1 ? Thanks.

Hi, it does work now, but miner reports every fan adjustment which is super annoying...

Thanks. That was a test version, the official release won't be spamming like that.

I'm receiving an error when trying to mine ETC with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB. I've already increased virtual memory to 20GB. Appreciate any advice here!

TREX: Can't find nonce with device [ID=0], GPU #0], GPU #0: not enough free memory to mine ethash at epoch 409
Warn: Miner is going to shutdown
Warn: Watchdog: T-Rex does not exist anymore, restarting.

I'm new and just trying to learn to mine as a hobby. I'd really appreciate any guidance here. I tried to follow tutorials and troubleshoot it myself but couldn't get anywhere. Thank you!

ETC or ETH? You can't mine ETH with GTX 970. As for ETC, use one of the ETC-ready bat files that come with the miner as a template, and replace the wallet address with yours. Good luck!

Hi @trexminer!

After running T-Rex v. 0.20.0 for 9 days (non-stop), it restarted with the following warning: "T-Rex has a problem with GPU, terminating...", after which it recovered and continued to mine.

No invalid/rejected shares, no invalid PoW solution, no other errors, etc. What are the most common reasons for this error in particular?

Thanks in advance!

Is it usually a problem related to defective riser, or do you mine with just one gpu without riser? in this case it may be a problem with the gpu or drivers.

Hey! Thanks for replying. I have a rig with risers, but I haven't received this error in a long time (months). When it happened before it was related to high OC. I'm thinking it could be the OC settings yet again, but since I've dialed them down, now it needs time to recognize that they're too high, hence why it takes many days before it happens.

Unfortunately, T-Rex doesn't say which GPU it has a problem with. If it did, I would've tried remedying the problem more precisely.

Thank you for the input though. I'll have in mind the riser suggestion!

Hi. It's not possible to use --mt 1-6 on my 1060s anymore, they hang. It's stable on 0.20 (and earlier). I have 1.5 MH less without --mt

0.20.0
How do I write so my 3 gpus are underclocked differently in windows?
I saw that I can add OC settings in this new version but I have 3 gpus that run on different settings

Hi guys!

I installed an older gtx1070 into my rig beside three 3070 cards.

The 30 series cards' power consumption seems to be fixed - while the 1070's keeps jumping up and down resulting in this graph:

http://www.kepfeltoltes.eu/images/2021/04/24/117wobbly.png

I'm using sufficient PSU of 1200watts, Afterburner to limit pwr.

Is this fine, or something is wrong with the 1070 card?

Many thanks for any input/help!

Yeah? Cos 0.20.3 does spam fan adjustments exactly like that test version))

Quote
Note: fan speeds are limited to [5%; 95%] range in auto-fan mode.

Most of pascals' fans can't spin properly at 5%, you should lower minimum limit to 0 so they won't go crazy spinning/stopping when below target temp....

ps there is also hashrate fluctuations when mining FIRO(dunno, mb when mining any other algo as well - I'm just mining FIRO now). There hasn't been any and so often as now in 0.20.3

pps also shares-per-card now shown only for current session, if miner restarts only total shares at top would remain, per card will start from 0 again. It wasn't like that in previous versions and I think its preferable cos you can compare how card performs with other cards. Ofc there is a "summary" but its not that handy as when you can just see this data on the main page.

Good day. The latest release mentions "Performance degradation on Pascal and Turing GPUs", what does this mean in practice?

My rig has 304 MHs which are always correctly reported.
My rig is running 24/7 for several weeks now.

My average hasrate is always only 293 - 295 MHS.... why is that?

Is the miner fee (1%) and the pool fee (1%) already substracted there?

T-rex does not report actual h\r based on shares you submitted, only what cards report. And it doesn't include fees obviously. It reports shares per minute only. If 295 is what t-rex says you have, than its you supposed hashrate. If 295 is what your pool says then it's what you actually have(all fees included).

No.. the cards and the Miner report 304.
But the real average 24h shown in the pool is just 295.

And that‘s the case for weeks now.

So wehre are the missing 9 mhs?
Fees?

Is T-Rex gonna implement the "Absolute Core Clock Setting" for Turing and Ampere GPUs?

HiveOS had an update recently which added that feature and it lowers power consumption anywhere between 9 to 30W depending on the card. From my understanding the Absolute Core Clock is a feature present in the architecture of the GPU so it should be possible to add it in the miner, right?

On ETH I never got h\r on the pool side close to what miner says cards are giving me(excluding 2% of fees) with t-rex. It is usually -5% or more.

You are missing some fundamentals here that would clear this up. Nothing is being stolen or gone missing.

Your miner hashes at a certain speed, that is the reported hashrate. This is what is displayed in the miner output, and most pool dashboards also show a "reported hashrate" that mimics what your miner is reporting.

You actually get paid based on how many VALID shares you submit to the pool. This is displayed in your pool dashboard. Sometimes called "effective" or "actual" hashrate. It's simply measuring how many shares you submitted over a period of time (usually an hour). This will go up and down throughout the day based on the LUCK of the shares you are mining and the number of STALES \ INVALIDS you fail to submit to the pool. If you have a bad connection to the pool you may have higher stales, if your rig is too overclocked it may produce invalid shares, both of these are shares that will NOT be accepted by your pool and will affect the "actual hashrate" of your rig. Your miner fee will also affect your actual hashrate as the miner will not be producing valid shares for YOUR wallet during that brief period of time.

Many of the pool dashboards also show an "average hashrate" which is just taking the average of your "actual / effective hashrate" over a sliding window of time (usually 24h).

Sometimes your actual hashrate will be above your reported hashrate. Sometimes it will be lower. Given enough time (days, weeks, thousands of shares), with 0 stales, and 0 invalids, and 0 miner fees, your actual hashrate would come very close to the reported hashrate of your rig.
