An impressive debut for the spinner Gudakesh Mote as he takes 19 wickets in two test matches and having 13 in this second which give a big win to his team by an inning and 4 runs against Zimbabwe within just three days of this test match is good for them now with this they could feel better as now they are heading for the tour of South Africa where they will play two test matches as well but here in second inning while they were trailing by 177 runs fail to do as this was required and lost all their wickets quickly which is surely big problem for them in test format because they still have no enough quality and performance for this format and ICC is also not doing anything for having better performance from few weaker sides in this format which is already living on ventilator.

I wonder why Zimbabwe always want to play test cricket against the tier-1 test nations. Nothing is wrong in that, but from what we have seen, they are unable to compete in a meaningful manner. And at the same time, they have this aversion for the associate members. When was the last time that they played against some of their neighbors, such as Namibia, Kenya and Uganda? Even at this point, I am sure that Namibia will be able to defeat Zimbabwe in cricket (in any of the formats). But then Zimbabwe refuses to play against these countries and therefore we never know.

Money matters. For the Zimbabwe cricket board there is good potential to earn revenue through media rights and sponsorship, if the national team plays against top test sides. If they play against associate nations, this is not guaranteed. Also, there is always a threat of getting destroyed in the field by teams such as Namibia and Netherlands. If that happens, then naturally the question comes to why Zimbabwe is still a test nation, with access to $12 million in annual funds from the ICC. By not playing against the associate sides, the Zimbabwean board can deflect this question.

My proposal is to have multiple tiers in test cricket with a promotion-relegation system. There should not be permanent test status, especially for teams such as Zimbabwe. I am not going into too much detail, because I have already posted this multiple times. If the ICC is worried about Zimbabwe so much, then they need to revamp the admin structure and eradicate corruption within ZC rather than increasing the fund allocation.

I think I am saying this for the first time, In the bowling department India is too good. The problem lies in the batting order, especially the middle order which is basically in shambles. I am expecting Ishan Kishan to be part of the playing 11 and Bharat might get dropped. Bharat also failed to bat in the last match. Iyer is also fit so he will come and replace SKY.

KL will play at least 1 more match as the squad is announced for 2 tests and they would argue that India batted only 1 time in the Nagpur test so KL deserves another go. There is a possibility that KL might score some useful runs and cement his spot for the series, followed by more failures (that's my worry), although i won't mind if he scores runs as team will benefit.

Shreyas should walk in easily if he's completely fit and SKY would be dropped as he got a chance only because of Shreyas's injury. Bharat is fixed in the middle order for now, it was his maiden test so he should get a long rope.

We have already talked about this many times. The tier system is not going to exist in cricket in my opinion. Because all the bigger teams in cricket are going to play against the weaker opponent whenever they feel like they need to improve their confidence. And that is not going to happen if there is a tier system. That can be very bad for the big teams because then they will find themselves in fear of getting relegated. And we all know that the PIG4  is going to oppose the idea of the tier system.

The match is being played in New Zealand and they are the favorite but looking at the past performance of the English side I do not think it will be an easy task for the Kiwis. He has been scoring runs at an SR of 127%.

If Root and Pope are able to form a big partnership then we will see good results for England in this match. According to the pitch condition, I think the England team will be able to collect 380-420 in the first innings if there are no big mistakes by England batsmen.

Regularly going with 5-6 runs per over clearly shows that now Poms have no interest in a traditional way of playing test cricket, where batters used to grind all day. One can argue that under previous leadership they lost so many matches that they don't trust their defense anymore and adopted an ODI approach in test cricket. At the same time no one can deny that it's very exciting to watch and under Baz-Ben's leadership, this method turned out to be very successful. Aussies will have a tough time in the upcoming Ashes.

Looks like Iyer is playing in the next text. This should give some support in the middle order.

Number 10 and 11 were about to bat and at best they could have added extra 10-20 runs or worst zero run partnership. This whole process cost 4-8 overs and you don't want to do this when you have 300 runs on the board and have a chance to crack a pink ball under lights.

Most of the time new pink ball does a fair amount of tricks under lights, hence the declaration and it worked.
