New Zealand batsmen are not able to play well. Although Devon Conway played well, no other batsmen could support him. Devon Conway remains unbeaten with 66 runs. And at the moment, New Zealand's collection is 127 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.

It was clearly Australia's session but one Ashwin's over turned this session into a shared one. Lunch would taste much better now.

This won't be an easy test for both teams, expecting a tough fight.

Warner, Labuschagne. Experienced batsmen like Smith, Travis Head and Alex Cherry did not play well today. Each of the batsmen mentioned is Australia's most important player. And fans expect a lot from them. But their performance was very bad. Usman Khawaja was dismissed for 81 runs. Peter Handscomb scored 36 runs and Pet Cummins scored 23 runs now batting. Australia collected 199 runs after losing 6 wickets. It seems that Australia will lose all the wickets today. If Australia collects less than 300 runs then they will be badly beaten in today's match as in the first match. But if they collect more than 300 then the match will be competitive.

Based on the top order performance the winning probability of India will increase. Australia's bottom order helped to score good runs. Thos runs will sure to play big part in this test match. Indian bowlers were good to grab wickets and end the first innings on day 1. Australia opening was good amidst the fall of wickets at regular interval. Much expected Smith who used to perform well against India didn't score single run. India have begun it's innings and lets see what happens end of the day as they're at 13/0 after 6 overs.

Regularly going with 5-6 runs per over clearly shows that now Poms have no interest in a traditional way of playing test cricket, where batters used to grind all day. One can argue that under previous leadership they lost so many matches that they don't trust their defense anymore and adopted an ODI approach in test cricket. At the same time no one can deny that it's very exciting to watch and under Baz-Ben's leadership, this method turned out to be very successful. Aussies will have a tough time in the upcoming Ashes.

Isn't it better to score quickly by losing some wickets rather than scoring slowly by losing quick wickets? England has batted in the aggressive style against New Zealand in the first innings. England has whitewashed New Zealand in 2022 test series by playing in the aggressive mode. I think we are going to see the repetition of that series again. New Zealand is in under pressure now by losing the 3 wickets quickly.

you are right England's batsmen played well in the 2022 Test series and managed to win every match in the series. And in this series too, we are seeing the same kind of gameplay from the England team. The pitch is not batting-friendly. So England's batting was quite good. Since the pitch is not batting-friendly, now teams should aim to score runs by any means.

As long as the English team succeeds in this, these things will proceed. The idea of doing experiments is also a good one since many people around the world are no longer interested in test cricket. By playing ODIs style, they have changed this format. So far, England has done a fantastic job. They took six wickets of New Zealand because of their approach. Honorable names on my list of bowlers in this match are Ravichandran Aswin, Sir Jadeja & Shami. I think the Australian team should humbly bow down and give the BGT to the Indian squad rather than going through such humiliation every day in every match.

KL Rahul is still batting. I think tomorrow he will play tomorrow to prove to Venkatesh Prasad that he is not a product of favoritism. If not then he should accept that he is and should resign as a Vice Captain like Chetan Sharma did as Chief Selector today. I am sure the team management would accept his resignation and then a new Chief selector would easily drop him in other upcoming series/tournaments regardless of him being a Captain of an IPL tea.

Improvement was there from Australia compared to the first test match, but still they have an uphill task with them at hand. Usman Khawaja also did his part in the fightback. There is no reason to think that the pitch only helps spinners. On this pitch, Mohammad Shami managed to take 4 wickets in just 14 overs. So if the Australian bowlers perform well they can control the match. But that seems unlikely. Because Indian batsmen are in very good form now. Had the Australian players managed to score more than 300, the match would have been competitive. But Australia scored only 263 runs. It was a very low collection against India. However, if the Australian bowlers managed to pick up 3/4 wickets in the first session tomorrow, the match is likely to be competitive. Or we will see the dominance of Indian batsmen in this match as in the first match.

Today was the first day and four more days of play are remaining. Australia is experimenting with a combination of one pacer and three spinners. Spin worked somewhat well for Australia last time, when Todd Murphy was able to trouble the Indian batsmen. This time they have Matthew Kuhnemann on his debut in addition to Todd Murphy (who is playing his second test). Can these two inexperienced spinners trouble the Indian batsmen? Indians are considered as the best against spin. If this strategy is successful, it will be a big boost for Australia.
