Another 69 runs needed, with a minimum of 15 overs remaining. I can see the Australian bowlers getting more defensive. The target is perfectly achievable for India, but they should be careful not to lose any wickets. Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins are bowling very economically, so the Indian batsmen may be looking to target the other two bowlers (Hazlewood and Starc). I have a feeling that Rishabh Pant may be able to give India a win here.

Damn now situation is pumped up for everyone... New ball Pujara gone and Pant attacking Cummins and Hazelwood. T-20 feelings taking over here, I hope people stop saying that Test cricket is dying. Last hour, Last 15 overs and series is still alive. 80% -20% India Aussie need only couple of wickets then they could fancy their chance.
69 runs needed only.... IPL mode? Indian fans, fingers crossed please
BC MC Mayank Aggarwal I think Pant will wait for until there are like 5-6 overs remaining so that there is no risk of losing the match and then he will unleash the IPL mode. We still have three pure batsmen to bat and Mohammad Siraj we have seen can swing his bat in the air too. So even if the tailenders could play 5-6 balls each chances are we won't lose the match. i think Mayank Aggarwal's wicket was too important if he would have stayed until now India could have tried for a sure shot win until now. I don't know how much trust will India lay on Thakur and Sundar but I see a clear series victory for India.

I am shocked by the way in which India counter attacked, i thought they will look to draw the match, now they just need 24 runs to win the match and 6 more overs minimum to go and this Test series just established why 5 day match is necessary rather than reducing the days. It is one of the most nerve racking series in a very long time as both team battled it out and a huge respect to all the Indian players as they fought till the end.

This great come back by Indian team 15 run from 30 balls. It is still possible for Australia to draw the match but the way Indian batsman are playing I think the match is now being controlled by the Indian players.

Just 10 more runs needed and Washington Sundar gets out. Australians may think that they still have a chance in this match. History is in the making at Brisbane. India still has 4 wickets and 4 overs remaining to reach the target. What they need to do is to make sure that no rash shot is being played. And most importantly, Rishabh Pant needs to keep the lion's share of the strike.

Who would have thought. 10 runs from 4 overs. Pant still ON..And a FOURRRR..!! The Aussies aren't gonna forget this match and this series for a long long time to come. The way India resisted and just carried n despite injuries, nobody had given a chance to the Indians. Amazing team effort and Amazing game of cricket this one. WON!! India wins the Border-Gavaskar series trophy while Australia lose their first test at The Gabba in the last 28 years. Historic..!!

And finally.. India wins the match and the series. Such a historic win. A lot of people had written them off even before the series started. Michael Vaughan predicted 0-4 sweep in favor of Australia. I am sure that he will be having egg on his face right now. Now this series will present a lot of challenges to the Indian selectors. Are they going to stick with Rahane as the captain? What about Saini/Siraj/Natarajan. Who are going to be dropped for the next series when the regular players are available?

I did say last night that if the rain cleared (which it did, turning into a fine day) that India would go on to win the game (and the series)
Congratulations to the Indian team and their supporters.

World Test Championship points table looks really tight. Right now, four teams are in contention for the final at Lord's - India, Australia, England and New Zealand. For India, the next series is at home and that gives them an advantage. I guess all the other teams are having away series. BTW, I would love a final between India and New Zealand. That looks probable as well, looking at the points table.

There was a totally unexpected victory. I'm not sure if anyone thought India would be able to win today's match. At least I didn't think India would win. Great strategy, and great batting. Although Rahane could not succeed with his bat, he succeeded as a captain. I don't know if anyone would like to see Virat Kohli as captain after this series. However, today's match was very exciting. I am happy to enjoy such an exciting Test match.

What a game from India. Australia could've never thought of such a win. With three wickets and 18 balls left means, India has reached the score in about 87 overs. During the first innings Rohit Sharma gave a good start whereas Gill fell very fast. In the second innings Gill have given a very good start which has strengthened the team performance from the very beginning. Defeating Australia and winning the series on their home ground has made India once again reach the first position on Test Cricket Points Table.

Pant, Gill, Takur, Saini, Siraj is everywhere but people forget to appreciate the effort from Pujara, he also one of the reason for Indian batsmen to keep their batting style up the mark since he was holding the one end like a wall for nearly 40+ overs. Actually, I missed the live game just waiting for the highlights to see how the game went on the day 5.
It is not a simple win for sure because 6 main players got injured but still the new bowling team managed to destroy the fortress of Aussies.

No more abusive word for Damad ji, even if we are not winning next T-20 World cup. Haha really. India did well to break the record at Gabba that they were proud of. India beating Australia at their home is really something. Also India were without their key players but still they managed to defeat them. After all the controversies- i.e sledging, australian fans abusing, and so , young players did well to keep aside all the frustrations and shut their mouth right at their home. Gives off wonderful feelings to fans... Love it
Was just curious about this- There was lot of questions asked about Pujara's slow batting style. What do you think about it? I've seen people praising such styles a bit when it is a tight situation and that playing style comes in handy if we are trying to get out of losing situation, but do you think the reaction could go opposite if it goes other way if a target seems pretty much achievable but somehow it goes towards draw? What do you guys feel as a cricket fan.

Pujara is essentially a test batsman and that is one of the reasons why he never plays in IPL. One thing that almost everyone ignored is the fact that Pujara had hardly played any cricket before landing in Australia. Ranji season for 2020 was called off, and his last competitive game before the series was the 4-day match between Saurashtra and Bengal, which was played on 9th March 2020.

Cheteshwar Pujara was playing the anchor role, he was hit in the body multiple times and i am sure he is hurt but he stayed in the crease so that the difficult phase of the match is taken care and that is more than important. The most impressive thing is that i consider this as the greatest win from India in the history of Test cricket with a really young team. Full credits goes to Ajinkya Rahane.

Previously even I said about having a dedicated captain for the test which will also help Kohli to perform better as a batsman than a captain. I really like aggressive captaincy from Kohli but it won't work most of the time when it comes to the longer format of the cricket. Anyway, the chances of moving the test captaincy are really low but if it happens then it's better for team India.

However I don’t expect Kohli to simply surrender Test captainship, but if he was keen to be relived then Rahane should be named as the next captain for team India in the test format.
