I don't understand the point in excluding Jasprit Bumrah for the squad for 4th test match. He is not a part of the T20/ODI squads, so there is no excuse to rest him further. And India should not become complacent here, as their slot for the WTC final is not yet confirmed. At this point I would have preferred going with an unchanged squad, rather than replacing Bumrah with Umesh/Saini/Siraj. This is a big match, and the team needs to realize that they can't lose it.

Maybe BCCI is looking for a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. If Jaspreet Bumrah is not in the squad or is injured, it is important to know who will be a worthy player for India instead. India has won two matches. Even if they lose the last match, the series will be a draw. They will not lose the series. So maybe BCCI has decided to give a chance to someone other than Bumrah.

Because of this reason Indians got tag of "Good players of spin". Although current batch is not good as it used to be. Because i have noticed them getting knocked out against the part timers in every format couple of times. Root's recent performance with the ball is another add on in that list.

Warne and Murali got wickets in seam friendly wickets and so does Anil Kumble when playing outside Asia. The reason Warne and Murali did not find much success in India is because of the batting line who always dominated spin but we cannot say the same with the current crop of players.
 
Warne debuted against India and Ravi Shastri scored a double century in that match and attacked Warne all over the ground and players like Laxman, Dravid, Tendulkar, Azharuddin and Ganguly were great players of spin and no spinner could dominate a batting line up like that.

I wont be surprised if India goes into the match with an all out spin attack, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar along with Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel but i doubt Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar will get any major role in the match as Washington Sundar got just 4 balls to bowl in the last match and he picked one wicket and i thought they should have given these youngsters more chance in spinning tracks to build their confidence.

Kuldeep had a ton of opportunities to perform in the past which is why I don't think this is unfair at all. Axar is performing well currently and that is what matters. The DD dude reminds me of Chahal in many ways.

Well said. Peterson, Vaughan, Cook etc should be embarrassed of themselves for complaining and whining about the pitch. Am not a big fan of tests personally, but I enjoyed watching this one from start to finish.

My favourite part was Bairstow getting bowled spectacularly right after surviving an LBW decision. 0/2 was madness and the commentators lost it.

It would be great if India replace Ishant Sharma with a spinner and India going in the match with an extra batsman and 4 main spinners and Ashwin, Axar Patel, Sundar and since Jadeja is injured and we can go with Kuldeep in the team. In the past India used to play with 3 and 4 spinners and no one complained about that and every team will play according to their strength and there is nothing wrong in it.

As I mentioned earlier, I am OK with 1 pacer and 3/4 spinners. But I believe that 7788bitcoin wanted to go with an all-spin attack. I don't think that going to a test match without any pacer is a good idea, especially when there are no part-time pace bowlers in the Indian squad. I have seen many occasions when teams in SENA grounds went with an all-pace attack. But even in such occasions, they had at least 2-3 part timers who could bowl occasional spin.

I don't think that going to a test match without any pacer is a good idea, especially when there are no part-time pace bowlers in the Indian squad. I have seen many occasions when teams in SENA grounds went with an all-pace attack. But even in such occasions, they had at least 2-3 part timers who could bowl occasional spin.

The Indian pace bowlers bowled a total of 11 overs in the third Test match, 19 overs in the second Test matches and the only match India used the fast bowlers was in the first Test match and England won that match and we know how the pitch is going to behave and with that clear why you need to include the fast bowlers if they are not going to bowl.

Well.. the fast bowlers bowled considerable number of overs in the first test match. The third test match was an exception and I don't think that we'll get a similar type of pitch in the fourth match. Ever since I started watching cricket, I have never seen a team deciding to include no fast bowlers in their playing XI. I have seen teams going with no spinners, but going without pace bowlers is unheard of.

The match is held in the same ground not sure the reason for it, because could have had 4 venues like for 4 matches which is generally the case. And now we know that the test match might not last more than 3 days or max the result should be on the 4th day. Also winning the toss and might want to bowl first since Indian in second innings were completely batting in a different way than the first innings and were better in timing the ball as well.

The pitch for the third test match was used only for two days, but by then it had disintegrated completely. I disagree with you on toss. It is still having a huge impact on the outcome and if England wins the toss, then the match is going to be very competitive.

I don't see any wrong even when team go with 4 seamers so i don't mind if team going with 4 specialist bowlers. Just imagine Jadeja, Ashwin,Axar,Sunder/Kuldeep bowling in India in same match along with only 1 seamer. Indian lower batting order would get strong too.

Kohli bowls part time spin nowadays, just like other Indian batsmen. The norm is that being an all rounder is the responsibility of the bowlers, and not the batsmen. I see a few bowlers working hard to improve their batting skills, but the reverse is very rare. The batsmen don't want to spend much time and effort in improving their bowling skills. Can't blame them. With such a powerful bowling attack which India possess, they may never get an opportunity to bowl even if they improve their skills.

And also the pitch will behave to the Indian condition which means you can't expect pace and seam like in England, so if they want to win the match on other grounds then they should prepare themselves to play at my condition. Indian batsmen too played there more comfortably than Eng so they were ahead of ENG this time. Probably the captain will choose the correct playing XI for ENG this time.
