Pakistan's highest success in ODI cricket

After winning the fourth ODI match against New Zealand, Pakistan secured the number one position in the points table in ODI cricket for the first time. Pakistan has never been able to reach number one in the points table in ODI cricket before but after winning four ODI matches in a row in New Zealand vs Pakistan ODI series, Pakistan managed to achieve this huge feat.

Babar Azam's brilliant batting and Usama Mir's brilliant bowling helped Pakistan achieve this in the fourth ODI match. In the last ODI match, Babar Azam managed to score 107 runs off 117 balls and Pakistan's bowler Usama Mir took four valuable wickets with 43 runs in ten overs.  Congratulations to Pakistan.

After consecutive 4th victory against the newZealand in ODI series push Pakistan rating to the top of the ICC ODI ranking and now pakistan is officially leading ODI ranking team. But now to stable his position Pakistan need victory in 5th ODI of the series too because currently they are just few inches away from Australia who is currently on no 2.

Bowling of Pakistan was already good and we have seen very tight bowling in t20 world cup. There was big problem in batting for Pakistan and now they improved their batting also. Every batsmen are looking in good foam especially Fakhar Zaman, Rizwan and Babar azam. A new young star salman is very good all-rounder. he impressed me with both balling and bating while Iftikhar blow are available every time when need. This team can chase any target and can defeat any team.

Apart from T20 cricket, Afghanistan is also achieving a lot of success in ODI cricket. Especially the way their bowling line-up is developing is undoubtedly commendable.

Pakistan has climbed to the first position in the ODI Cricket Rankings. It is indeed a matter of pride for Pakistan cricket. I have never seen such a ranking  position before. However, although Australia and India have the same rating but they have played more matches than Pakistan. The New Zealand series has been good enough for Pakistan to reach this stage. Pakistan chances of securing the series with a 5-0 win look promising as they have already won the first four matches. It's great to see Shahdab Khan back in the playing eleven as his presence will add depth to Pakistan's bowling attack. New Zealand winning the toss and electing to bat first may prove to be an advantage for Pakistan, as they have a strong bowling attack that can restrict the Kiwis to a low total. I believe it is a big achievement for Pakistan to perform so well. But at the same time, New Zealand is going to think that they did not have the full strength available in this tour. That's why they lost so badly. Now of course they are going to give importance to the world cup. IPL is not anywhere near as important as the world cup. Intention clearly was to play IPL not to try new players. IPL gives too much money not only to players but to boards also. In the end its a win-win situation for everyone.
Meanwhile 5th and final ODI is underway. NZ after winning the toss decided to bat first and they playing watchfully today. After 15 overs NZ are 72/1, Tom Blundell was the only wicket fell so far. Looks like NZ are trying to save wickets to score runs towards the end of innings.

For some reason, I really think that New Zealand honestly does not care about losing the series. But there should certainly at least try to avoid the Whitewash.

Strange thinking is that when a team is not interested in winning the series why would they be interested to avoid a whitewash ? Rather if a team has such an approach they should not tour for the series and bring a bad name to their country.

Now coming to today's final match, New Zealand have won the toss and they have decided to bat first. They have scored almost 72 runs in the first 15 overs and lost only one wicket. Will Young is playing at 42 and these young batsmen have survived the early spell from Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf. Mohammad Wasim too one wicket though.

I think NZ team has started well in this final match but it's too early to say if they will be able to win today or not ?
