Cambodia has won the gold medal in men's section of South East Asian Games 50-over cricket competition. They defeated Malaysia in the finals. Cambodia had no nationals playing for them, while a few first class players from India and Pakistan were present. Malaysia had a 100% native squad. Thailand finished with the bronze medal, after they defeated Indonesia in the 3rd place playoff (both the teams had 100% native squads). In the women's competition, Thailand and Indonesia have moved to the finals and Malaysia and Cambodia have progressed to the 3rd place playoff.

Ireland - Bangladesh

I am looking forward to Bangladesh vs Ireland series. Today the first ODI match of the series is going to be played in Chelmsford. The Bangladesh team is in very good form now in the ODI format. In the last two series, Bangladesh dominated and won against England and Ireland. The players of Bangladesh did a great performance. However, series two was Bangladesh's home match. And the Bangladesh team at home is always strong. However, this series against Ireland is going to be held in England. England pitches generally provide more support to pace bowlers. And so I am waiting to see how Bangladesh players perform on such a pitch.

Despite some early setbacks Bangladesh put up a decent total of 246/9 thanks to the impressive performances of Mushfiqur Rahim 61 runs and Nazmul Hasan Shanto 44 runs. Ireland needs 220 runs in 45 overs with 8 wickets in hand the match is still up for grabs. It will be interesting to see how Ireland's batsmen handle the pressure of the chase. Bangladesh's bowling department will have a crucial role to play in the rest of the match H. Muhmad and S. Islam pick up 2 wickets. Bangladesh may win this match their chances are 80%. Overall it promises to be an exciting match of cricket. The current score of Ireland is 27 runs lost of 2 wickets in 5.1 Overs.

I would not call a target of 247 runs a bad target. Because the bowling line-up of Bangladesh is now strong enough. But if Bangladesh would have been able to give a target of more than 280 then they would have been able to dominate the match. If Ireland's batsmen are able to bat responsibly and stay at the crease, they can win today's match.
At the end of 10 overs, Ireland's batsmen collected only 39 runs. But they lost two crucial wickets to Paul Stirling and Balbirnie. Tector and DOheny are now at the crease. If the Bangladesh bowlers pick Tector's wicket quickly, I guess Bangladesh will win for sure.

I know there is no point speculating who could have win the match in case the match was not abandoned but since Bangladesh batted first and have already put runs on the board, i rekon that they would have better chances of winning that match and they would consider them unlucky as the rain hit the match and the play was not possible.

The middle and lower order from Bangladesh played very well and due to this , they managed to score a good reasonable score. Mushfiqur Rahim scored the highest 61 runs among all the batsmen.

I agreed about Bangladesh performance in first ODI of this series because they were in well control and have good chance for taking lead with their performance but sadly rain prevent them from doing this but now after watching this match I have feeling Bangladesh can win this series because they are having well-adjusted for the remaining matches if we have no more rains in this series with most chances things can go for the draw of the series as well because rains are having their own agenda which is not controlled by anyone.
Even Bangladesh top order struggle but experienced middle order done good job at the end, and they were able to score 246 runs with after setting this target their bowlers were also done good job and take few early wickets which were helpful for them in this first match.

The Docklands Stadium (now known as the Marvel Stadium) is one such facility. But such stadiums are extremely expensive. The Docklands stadium cost some A$460 million to construct. And there are plans for another round of redevelopment, which will cost some $225 million. The Melbourne Renegades use this facility as one of their home grounds for the BBL (matches are played using a drop-in pitch).

We often see matches being abandoned due to weather. ICC should check the weather report and then select the venue. Or reserve day. Keeping reserve days is very costly. However, it has become very important now. However, if you select the venue by looking at the weather report, most of the matches will not be abandoned. If one or two matches are abandoned in the series, it affects the players very badly. Players' performance is likely to deteriorate, players lose confidence. And so ICC should work on this issue.

The West Indies Cricket Board has agreed to a 3 match ODI series against United Arab Emirates. This is what money power can do. West Indies will never schedule a match against teams consisted of native players, such as Scotland, Nepal or Namibia. But then, UAE and USA are the blue eyed boys of BCCI as well as the ICC. The matches will be held in Sharjah sometime next month, and will act as preparation for the ODI World Cup Qualifier. All of the matches will be played in D/N format and will be completed before the start of the qualifier tournament (18th June).

I understand that it is very unrealistic to actually think that Bangladesh might actually reach the final of the world cup. But I think there is a chance.

Teams can't be underestimated, because the improvement among different teams were really big. I'm sure this will make the playing members confident playing for the team. Maybe this is unrealistic, but in recent days cricket we were able to see unexpected results. Little by little the progress can be seen on these teams scoring pattern. For now the average have turned to be 250+ run.x

Almost everyone managed to score in the first match except Litton Das. Litton Das has not been able to show any performance in international cricket for a long time. If we look at the last England and Bangladesh ODI series there was no dominance by Litton Das but his poor performance in every match affected the team greatly. From that situation, no change is still being noticed. Although he is a good player for Bangladesh team but his consistent poor performance poses a big danger for the team.
