Watched the match yesterday and Barca was quite clinical. There could have been a goal or two for the home team in the first half but Barca scored their chances while Mallorca didn't.

Barca is stronger and if they take opportunities better to score goals, it is enough for them to end with a win. Mallorca had some chances but they failed to score. Mallorca did not actually create a pressure on the defense system of Barca in the match.

Griezmann is playing awful, he is nowhere on the pitch. I was against signing Braithwaithe when it happened. Especially with invoking rule to make the transfer outside the transfer window but he is playing really well for Barca. He is not as dangerous as Suarez but he is playing defense every single time. Barca always missed that defensive component from their attackers and he is bringing a lot of good stuff with his energy. Now I would start him instead of Griezmann every game and then substitute Suarez for Griezmann when he gets tired.

Griezman is another terrible transfer for Barca. After Dembele, Coutinho, Barca has another big failed transfer, with Griezman. He failed even in his early matches with Barca. I don't know what Barca saw in those players when they decided to do those transfers. Coutinho is understandable because he is from Brazil and had a great World Cup with Brazil and Barca can think he has good playing style with their tiki-taka. There is at least one thing Barca missed, Coutinho came from the Premier League, and in history there are very limited successful transfers from Premier League to La Liga.

For Dembele and Griezman, they don't have anything Barca can rely on. Transfers happened at very expensive costs and now we see how they perform on the pitch. Terrible.

Interesting article in Marca today: Zidane, his future is on the line.
In the last games before the break of the season, Real lost a lot of points in matches against Celta, Levante and other clubs.
This three-month break gave Zidane a chance to recover and rest a bit but in the end only results will decide his fate.
If Real don't win any trophy Zidane will find himself in a very delicate situation.
Do you think that in this case Zidane will remain coach of Real?

Up to today, I still don't understand why he came back. During his first term as coach he won everything with Real. Won La Liga, the FIFA-club-championsship, the UEFA supercup. won the Champions League and then managed to defend the title for two more times. At that point I had the utmost respect for him as he quit when he and his team was at their peak performance. But why coming back again? Sure he wanted to help the club he loves in a tough situation but It was almost impossible to live up to the expectations placed in him. It would be really a shame if they now wanna sack him after this season.

If Real really thinks that they have to give a new impulse and replace their headcoach after this season, I'd love to see how Pochettino performs with Real.

The Griezmann move to Barcelona was a fraud 
Anyway, it was an impressive match for Barcelona. With the return of Luis Suarez, expect Barcelona to return to their free scoring ways as compared to the time when he was off injured. There will also be less pressure on Messi.

No doubt at the moment Griezmann has not been at his best in Barca, but i still think he needs more time to improve, remember just like Coutinho was doing good at Liverpool and when he moved to Barca, he was awful too, Braithwaite on the other hand even though his not as dangerous as Suarez, I still think his good at what he does, I really enjoy watching him play, his another good CF if you ask me.

Now I would start him instead of Griezmann every game and then substitute Suarez for Griezmann when he gets tired.

Guys, Barca are top of La Liga & in a good position to maybe even win the CL. I’ll agree that the Dembeoe signing hasn’t really worked out but if Griezmann is a regular in a team that goes on to win La Liga & maybe even the CL, you can’t say he’s a bad signing.

I have to admit that yesterday barcelona were very good in the game and I was surprised that they won by 4 goals and did not concede any goals and I hope that today Real Madrid will not lose because if Real Madrid lose in today's game they are putting themselves in a very unpleasant and dangerous situation, he will practically be giving barcelona the title of champion

I am also surprised by the high form of Barcelona in the first match after such a long break. Yesterday they achieved a high and very certain victory. Or maybe Mallorca is so weak ... we'll see in the next matches. I expect a peaceful victory from Real Madrid today. However, I will not agree that in the absence of Real Madrid's victory, it will be possible to congratulate Barcelona for the championship. 4 or 5 points difference is a big advantage, but there are still 10 matches until the end of the season. So everyone's suddenly singing the praises of Messi and co after all the 3 months of lockdown doom-and-gloom haha.

Just finished watching a rather unsatisfactory draw at Athletic Bilbao -- Atleti should have lost really, if not for Oblak and his defence again. Costa too found a way to save their ass. They'll be happy to get the point playing like that.

Anyway, Real will be pressured for the win but I'm really just interested in R Sociedad getting 3 points.

Guys, Barca are top of La Liga & in a good position to maybe even win the CL. I’ll agree that the Dembele signing hasn’t really worked out but if Griezmann is a regular in a team that goes on to win La Liga & maybe even the CL, you can’t say he’s a bad signing.

But we have to agree that Griezmann is constantly failing to have impact on the game. Even yesterday when most of the Barcelona players were in top form, Griezmann was struggling to link with others. He is not your average player, he's one of the highly rated forward in the world and Barcelona paid over 100M from him. So rather than being a part of the team, he has to shine out and give value for his money. In this season so far, I only remember single game i.e. away fixture against Eibar when Grizzy performed exceptionally well.

It's true that he won't be getting that importance in Barcelona as he used to get in Atletico as far as Messi is around. But he still have to compliment strategy by playing signature Barca link-up play which Braithwaite and Ansu Fati instantly picked up. 


I am very excited to see Hazard playing once again tonight.

As a fan i'll be watching Madrid, but if I were a neutral looking to watch one football game tonight, I'd go with Sociedad vs Osasuna. A R.Socieadd hungry for a win to stay in the top 4 and a recently promoted Osasuna trying to climb to the top half of the league table... Sounds like it could be an entertaining game =)

La Liga, maybe, but the CL? Not even close. It takes only one game where Messi goes unnoticed for Barca to choke just like they did versus Roma and Liverpool 

Its not like a league game so winning or losing one game doesn't matters much. Its knockout stage and they are up against Napoli and every game is so crucial. They are still on away goal advantage but Napoli are not a side to be taken lightly. Drie Mertens is playing really good in forward position so things can go awry at any point for Barcelona.

BTW we already have seen some unexpected games in CL so can't say really if its gonna be easy for Barca in second leg as well.

I've got a 6/1 parlay that ends with Sociedad winning so I'm hoping for the outcome for sure. Plus, they were a really decent side prior to lockdown it would be very cool to see them cement their place in an UCL campaign next season!

I can't find a really good single match odds on this one but if I were without any vested interest, I'd be plying Osasuna to pip this, just almost. So far La Liga teams keeping their pre-lockdown form though!

HT and we're 3-0, it's gonna take a major f*ck up from us to blow this lead. I expected the team to look a bit rusty after a 3 month break, but we looked solid in both defensive and offensive roles, very confident and effective.

Hazard was pretty good, and Benzema, as usual, with the great assists, would rate them 8/10 so far. I hope Asensio can get a few minutes in the 2nd half.

Yep, Barca and Messi looking hella good, Atletico with the good 'ol draw (they have more draws than wins so far), and Madrid with a great performance. I'm so glad that we're gonna have La Liga action every single day next week!

I feel like there is a noble path to take for Zidane if he doesn't get fired. He did everything he could with the team but he never had to recover the team from being bad, Madrid is rarely ever bad, the team just made some bad transfers, has some players that wants out and some very old players. Right now they have a very good core good talented players and somehow with the financial fair play rules and not making any revenue at all during this period, they have to find a way to get players from other places for cheap and make them good.

I don't know if Zidane is the manager for that, but if he can, that would be something different. To have a good team and actually win something is very difficult but doable, to have a team that is not a full team just yet and actually bring them to championship is insanely difficult.

Not gonna lie , but seemed like kinda training ground match with the new venue lol. Anyway some very good goals scored in that match, especially Kroos and Marcelo one. Kroos placed the ball so well, no chance for keeper. Also Marcelo one also didn't gave any chance with the kind of power he put up with the ball.

^ Yeah they are really doing great with the ball, solid on defence which is what I am loving here. Would love to see them against some better sides: Valencia and Sociedad is up next (Will be a good test for Real Madrid)

@tomahawk9, both Barca and Real fans were concerned to see in what condition after quarantine teams will return. Now we can relax a bit, because both teams looks solid. Offcourse, opponents weren't most difficult. And Atletico is back as usual, nothing has changed in these months. Actually, there is no big surprises in this round so far, probably Valencia draw with Levante is biggest upset so far.

I'm so glad that we're gonna have La Liga action every single day next week!  

And with EPL return next week, it will be a bit strange to watch so much football every day .

Y'all complaining about Griezman, he ain't a fraud it's just that he joined Barcelona at the wrong time, Barca doesn't need him to be precise he was willing to join them at all cost and he is not in good terms with the king of the team Messi, Real Madrid would have been a better place for him to go had it been he made the right decision then, he was not really playing up to expectations for yesterday game

It's not a complaint. It's the reality my friend... and I was talking about the "move to Barcelona" being a fraud, not Griezmann himself. If he had remained in Atletico Madrid or moved to another top four of five club like Seville, PSG, Inter Milan. He would still be a very awesome Forward.

Real Madrid fans can breathe easily because Madrid won 3-1 over Eibar..  the game went pretty hard, ball possession was almost equal (Madrid 57%, Eibar 43%).  just a difference of 2 points between Madrid and Barca.  even so, I was pessimistic that Madrid was able to pass Barca and win the Spanish league trophy in this 2019/2020 season..

Anyway, while the title is a fight between Barca and Real I will be surprised if Atletico will end out of the Champions.
They can't have the luxury to miss it, especially with the COVID crisis.

It was not easy for Real Madrid to play football again after the competition was stopped for two months because of the corona virus pandemic.  That can be seen from their inconsistency throughout the game.

In the first half Madrid played fast and dominated possession to score three goals, but in the second half Eibar was more aggressive and able to keep pace.  This will be Zidane's homework to find the fitness of Madrid players in ideal physical condition.
