True when they called about the fire. I can see in the miner stats that the fire was already 1 hour going. So they where all sleeping ;-).  and stupid me trusted them with all this equipment. That's my big mistake. But again, I can't turn back time. No one hurt and a lesson learned.

Man, you are VERY passive for losing a ton of money and profit. You must be some rich kid playing with mom's money or never earned the money yourself? Usually when you earn money and lose it, it hurts a lot more then when just given to you.

I have patient with your weekend trolling, started after I didn't agree to a deal you requested privately.

I don't have patient for your inappropriate and wicked comments here and before.

Guy

I don't think I used the message system here in months. I think you got the wrong dude, also my comments aren't even near being wicked. I've seen a lot worse.
I was referring to email exchange we had few months ago regarding SP10. I really don't care about your posts as long as they're dealing with hardware ROI, Spondoolies-Tech, etc. Keep posting them.

Your remarks towrads cowboyminer are wicked. Maybe there are worse outside this thread, but it's not an excuse.

Guy

Yea, I get it. But it just gets me pissed when someone puts all that money into something and doesn't do it properly. No fire suppression at all? If it was malicious, yea, I feel bad, but everything still could of been saved if there was fire protection in place. It's like when someone doesn't wear a seatbelt when driving a car and gets into an accident and hurts themselves. Of course I have empathy for that person, but I'm still angry as all hell because they should have been wearing a seatbelt. Ok, back on topic.

I finally saw some large photos of the SP20, looks pretty nice inside, clean and neat. Does that have just one fan? Is it very loud the other SP models? This unit seems to be made for the home, so my dad is asking me about if it is loud or not. Is it tolerable to be in the same room with it and have a phone conversation?

its pretty loud , unless you are in a cool enough area where you can run the fans at 60% its loud.  You should be able to hold a phone conversation though just raise your voice a bit

i just woke up to 920 gh

reboot failed - 2 power cycles failed to remedy

miner is once not mining

yellow led is blinking 2 times..

UI is unavailable - Myminer.io does not see it

This is an SP20?

My dad is really interested in buying one (which he will force me to get one too) but I don't want to be playing around with it all the time. Just plug it in, input my pool and that's it. Do you think it is a hardware issue or software?

It's not a home mining machine despite its description. If you want to keep your Dad happy don't buy one.

price is still too high, there is no roi here.

Hardware = $800 (including power supply)
Profitability decline per year = 0.1 (only <8% decline per period, very conservative)
Power = 1200W @0.15

Still come back with a negative $ after 12 months. It's basic math, i dont understand why people continue to buy those overpriced hardware, host them, run them, when they wont make any money for you.

I just went over that with my dad, that he has to pay the electricity on this one (not hosted) and buy a high quality PSU which would cost about $200 for a good one. He's now bummed like a little kid, but so am I. Buying mining gear together keeps up talking and in a good relationship.

Get an s3+ or the c1

Similar price/gh, similar efficiency, but very reasonable volume. Could run 1-2 in the corner of a room and barely be noticed above the noise of a desktop pc or desk fan

The sp20 is perhaps a better product, bit not if noise matters

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

I cannot express how glad I am I sold my SP20 immediately for exactly what I paid for it given they have 0 regard for those who purchased early (as show in the lowering of prices 1 week after delivery without equal compensation to early supporters).

Great hardware, shitty management.

The hardware was actually shit too, hence why they had to stop selling it to sort the problems out.

Is this for real?

Lowered the price 1 week after delivery, but shipping is one week later so that makes it 2 weeks. Also you should know by now that mining hardware price is always going down. I don't think you were expecting the same price until the end of the year.

The hardware was actually shit too, hence why they had to stop selling it to sort the problems out.

They had issues with shipping, not with the actual hardware, but yes feel free to spread your anger/shit here.

This is the first time I have ever seen SP lower prices. And it wasn't a little at a time, it was just one big drop. I could be mistaken about them lowering prices, but I don't remember. Old age starts to melt away brain cells.

The mechanical problem with the SP20 was completely solved. We've tested and confirmed.

Can you expand a little in layman terms what the problem was? I'm considering buying a few, but have been holding out due to this.

Thanks  Smiley
In previous revision of the SP20 mechanical kit, the hashing boards may shift during transit due to the fact that they were not secured enough inside the box.
Most of the customers that were encountered the issue were able to solve by simply opening the box and press down the hashing board.

Has that issue been resolved for when they are being shipped out and bouncing all over in the back of a delivery truck? You mentioned what happened and what users did to resolve the issue, but never mentioned has the underlying problem been resolved?
Thanks.

If i remember correctly, they dropped the price on sp-10 very drastically as well ..and it was also in stock.
however, you are probably right re 40% being the first.

If its "in stock" why do you have to wait 10 days before it ships.

SP always build to order AFAIK, and the SP20 is no different.

How much for an SP20? I guess around $110-$120 for a 1 month contract?

On another front, just checked my SP30's and one has an ASIC error. Not too cold in there, input temps constant since setup at around 20°C

Got this in Asics Stats

Ha!

Im sat considering the same, my decrepit jupiters will be shutting down in a week or 2...

but i just woke up to this sp20 hashing at 957 again...8 more hours semi-downtime.

A quick save in the settings brought it back up but i plan to be away for xmas, so can do without the ballache.

@ SPTech - Is there any possibility of these ones being a bit more stable?

What's reason the hash rate goes down?
