For Bivol it makes more sense to fight Canelo first and then fight Beterbiev, Canelo supposedly wants a rematch and this means a lot of money for Bivol against an opponent he dominated clearly, if Bivol is willing to go down a division this also benefits him as in the case he were to lose he will not lose his title on the light heavyweight division and he will still retain the right to fight Beterbiev for the undisputed, while at the same time it gives both parties more time to agree to a date and a venue for the fight to take place.

But Bivol is not about money. He fights for the legacy that's why he skipped fights with no bearing.

If we remember, when Canelo loses to Bivol in their first encounter, a rematch is being followed up. But Bivol seems not interested and will only fight if there's a big bearing that will add to his legacy. Money, of course, matters but Bivol wants to add some title collection to his possession.

Either way, Bivol facing Canelo or Beterbiev is a good watch for us boxing fans.

Better to deal with it while he's still young, adding more legacy to his career also adds the value of his name, achievements is really something that will keep you being targeted by well-known challenger, I see where money will be when Bivol win again against either Canelo or Arthur that's something that will be worth to wait if you are a good fan of speed and strong fighters.

Let's wait for what fate will bring to him as he continues to chase for more titles/belts under his name.

The fight is now ongoing between this two, I haven't beat on this fight as co-main event.

But so far it's very close in my opinion as of 6 although Makabu was down already in the 4th round.

Could be fitting win for Badou if he wins this fight in this comeback, and say that "he has that chance to become the first Muslim to win a title in Saudi". So let's see how the fight goes.

Maybe that is the initial goal of Bivol, to fight for legacy and not the money. But when he upset Canelo, for me it seems his outlook in boxing has chance too. Specially when you hear that he is willing to go down to 168 lbs and fight Alvarez. Doesn't make sens though for me, except yeah maybe there is the belt of Canelo in the line, but still if he is for the legacy then he might as well fight him at 175 lbs, his division and because that's where he beat him in the first place. Maybe Hearn advise him to take that risk to go down because he will be offered huge money in the table, in my opinion.

Mayweather is getting it pretty bad in the news today for the lack of people showing up to his last fight.  That's sort of embarrassing and shows that people aren't really willing to pay to see him fight anyone no matter where he goes.  A long ways from the hype of the Conor McGregor fight.

I'm awaiting the results of the Tommy Fury and Jake Paul fight now.  I didn't go crazy but tossed a few in for Jake Paul.  I like his troll act and think he's put in a ton of work to be able to compete at such a high level and knock out legitimate athletes.  I look forward to seeing him continue to try and get to a world title.

But round 10-11 was completely dominated by Badou and then referee stop the contest already by the 12th.

Yeah, I read that Jack Badou won the fight with 12 round TKO and was dominating the fight. It was a good decision by the referee to end the fight early because Makabu is unable to continue and even if he is able, he will only receive more punishment and it is obvious that the fight is already won by Badou unless of course Badou gets knocked out.

And now we are just waiting for the result of Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury.  I am still thinking why does people booing Jake Paul?

Jake Paul is supposedly be the villain role? remember when fans used to boo Floyd as well because they all wanted to see him lose? But those are the fans that go to live events, spend thousands of dollars to watch them in the fight and hope that they get knockout or get a L on that record.

The fight is still ongoing though, so let's see how this goes, and who is going to be knockout as for sure, both of this boxers are going to be tired as the fight goes on.

Maybe Hearn advise him to take that risk to go down because he will be offered huge money in the table, in my opinion.

I think regardless, Bivol is capable of dealing with Canelo either in 168 or 175.

As long as there's a title at stake, that is already a good reason for Bivol to boost his confidence to win as in the first place, he really wants to collect titles.

According to some rumors though, the fight with Beterbiev will be the possible next in line for Bivol and that will probably happen this year. Personally, I'd rather want to see that first before taking Canelo in their possible rematch.

I encountered a Facebook post from the sports page that John Riel Casimero is now ranked #5 in the Super Bantamweight in WBO.

But checking the current rankings, he is still not ranked by the WBO and still, only WBC ranked him. I don't know if that's just a made-up article lol.

I would be happy if that happened since Casimero is now getting an inch closer to a possible title match.
With so many fights that will happen this year, I am sure his rank will go higher as they are all focused on defeating Inoue. New blood, they may want to have a taste of him.
Luis Nery didn't waste the opportunity to go up the ladder and defeated Azat Hovhannisyan in a TKO and now he is getting near the tile.
Casimero, as I checked my favorite rankings website is just below them.
Very soon he will be up against the top contenders and a possibility for his aim to fight Inoue or getting back his championship title.
That's interesting, if given a chance Casimero will not waste any to bring his name back on top, though it's a new division but the good thing here is he might have that chance to fight Inoue, if both will continue to win on their respective upcoming fights the chance that we might see negotiations between both camps is very possible.

Patience is a virtue here. If we hope to see that time will come for both of them inside the same ring, it's really something that might take place.

This move to a higher weight division will be good for Casimero because he had problems in weight cutting before in bantamweight. However, he might wait for a very long time before he can get his opportunity to challenge the monster hehehe. Inoue has his ambition to unify the championships of the super bantamweight division and be the first fighter to do it. This implies that if he is the winner against Fulton he will accept the rematch then he will challenge Akhmadaliev for the unification. It also implies that also this fight will also have a rematch clause.

Casimero should also first prove himself by challenging Fulton or Akhmadaliev if they lose twice each against Inoue. The problem however is Inoue might go higher again to featherweight.

He should forget about the monster Inoue though, he had his chance but he blew it already. The first thing that he should do is to capture a belt here. He is now on good position as he bolster and go to rank 5 in the WBO.

Let Fulton vs Inoue fight each other, and then fight the next highest rank that is available to him.

Probably just 2 fights and he will be in for a world title again, regardless of how it is.

Agreed. Casimero has nothing to offer Inoue except if he is holding a super bantamweight championship. However, you mentioned that he is ranked 5 in WBO. Stephen Fulton is the champion of the WBO super bantamweight division and Fulton is scheduled to fight Inoue already. I reckon he should challenge someone with a high ranking in WBA or IBF then challenge Murodjon Akhmadaliev the WBA and IBF super bantamweight champion hehe.

That's what he really needs to do and it will all come to his promoter whether they have some way to give him the chance to fight the champion in the other belts association. It's not that hard for him because he can really fight those champions as long as given enough time to train and fix his skills to get back his confidence. His last fight was a joke and the guy is frustrated right now, he really needs to fight a real boxer to regain his honor. He still has a long road to getting a chance to fight Inoue and he needs to regain his popularity a well by completely beating his next opponents.

Yes, I think he will stick with the WBO, I mean he got his highest ranking is just one fight at this weight class, Luis Nery will be a good fight for him and they have been calling each other even before goes up to 122 lbs, as far back as 2020, after his win with Duke Micah.

Quote
Nery, who holds an unbeaten record of 30-0 (with 24 KOs), reportedly referred to the Filipino as a log meant to be chopped down.

So this is going to be a slug fest, and hopefully they can schedule it this year.

Same with you. I also wanted to see Beterbiev first before that possible rematch against Canelo. Whatever the outcome, Bivol still has that shot to bring his name up if ever he failed to snatch Beterbiev's belts. He still has a win against Canelo and if the promoters will hype the rematch for sure, there are still people who will support and watch the fight.

It will be at the hands of their promoters. Either way, it's still going to be a big fight for Bivol.

Mayweather fight with no one, recently he fight with Aaron Chalmers aka MMA fighter, the fight wasn't scored because each of them can't knocking out each other. I think Mayweather seems to have lose his hype, but many people are still cheering McGregor and Jake Paul, this might because Mayweather isn't a funny person.

The match was end with Tommy Fury win via split decision, we will see a rematch sooner or later, Jake Paul will mad and take the future fight in serious.

Since there's a possible upcoming match for Donaire, I've just seen this news but it's not about him but her wife, Rachel. Maybe I would just share it here.

I sort of think that both the Mayweather and Jake Paul stories might be coming to a close. You might see a rematch or a fight with KSI, but I don’t think McGregor will fight him now that he’s lost. Unless maybe McGregor loses his comeback fight and decides to give up on fighting to do something else. With the shine off Jake’s record now, I think he’ll probably stop being a story in another couple of fights.

Right, but he offers an explanation, the fight was not promoted as expected and they were just like 1 month of doing the social media promotions. In any case, it might be that Floyd is losing his ground now.

And the bad news is that he says he hurt his hands against Chalmers, although he has history of broken arms in the past, and with his age, it might take time to heal and it will be brittle the more he fight, he is nearing 50 years old.

Selling a Bivol vs Canelo rematch won't be hard since they showed an entertaining fight in their first meeting. That's how great fights are made, and boxers and promoters can make a lot of money at the same time.

Wait what, Canelo vs Bivol's first meetup is an entertaining fight? Cheesy

The hype Canelo just turned into a punching bag for Bivol and overall, did not become entertaining to watch as Canelo wasn't even able to give a good fight.

But regarding marketing the rematch, definitely, it will be sold out even without the media will hype it because of the reason that Canelo is popular and one of the recognized top boxers right now and Bivol also established a big name after beating Canelo.

Agree with you. It's not that his body does have the capability of quick self-healing providing the fact that he is aged now.

But if he is serious about getting into a quick rehabilitation, the technology today is somehow good and there are ways now to actually give a quick recovery for an injury like that. We have to wait then for the progress and what will be the probably next move by him.
