BLOCK        HASH

Unfortunately, it is a bit.. contentious.. to declare an "official" block for a given height.
During code updates, we often do place checkpoints for sanity, however beyond that it becomes a bit more murky.

On my personal client, I show for block# 208000:

d2ca72505c79979957573e5dd6e0bf08955e79cda57b66c2126f7cb85f200e83

Hope that is helpful Grin

woot ! We're on the same block chain. lol

See.. comparing recent blockhashes works (if/when the comparisons are done in real time). Tongue

Yup, Same as mine.  I'll have to defer to one of the more technical folks.    Another thing just for grins.  Which block are you stuck at?  Should be on the debug>info screen.  up to 208832 now.

The spinning icon sucks balls, blah blah UI problems.

The little spinning icon uses a horrible "movie" format which is terrible, I realized this a while ago before it started having serious issues. Instead of using that, I already have a spinning pixmap in the works among many other things in the next UI revamp. Some other stuff with black style will be fixed, along with the option to edit the style to your liking, as well as simply being able to use the native Qt style. Too much stuff to mention in one post =p

The UI as it stands now is just a band-aid to provide some user preference while fixing the major backend issues we wanted to address(mostly props to xploited for this). Most of my proposed inclusions were taken out of the update because of severe implications and time constraints, but I have some very streamlined things I think people will love. This won't be a hard fork obviously, but I'm not saying it'll be tomorrow.

If you have a particular request, feel free to stop by in irc and throw some ideas at me (I might not be active, but you can always leave a message).

Cheers,
tryphe

I have actually had a similar issue on my personal client.
I can't recall if it resolved itself, or if I did a restart.

Regardless, if you want to post a paste of your debug-log that might be helpful in debugging the issue.
It likely makes more sense to either post it online with a service like pastebin or send it via PM.

You may also stop into IRC @ freenode #clams.

Please try sync-ing your system clock.

On Windows you can do so by right clicking your tray clock, clicking adjust date/time, tab:Internet Time.

Q

This is very stange. When you were running the program, did it sync properly and then dropped out suddenly? What sort of connection are you using? Have you tried wiping the directory (ie delete everything except wallet.dat)? I've no idea how to replicate the error. It looks like you are maybe on a fork but the log isn't long enough to tell.

I think I remember having this one problem before on sync but restarted it and it was fine. Probably unrelated though.

the night before i started up the clam wallet as always , and left it running in the background, played a few rounds of titanfall, came back and noticed the sync was stuck at 11 hours to go ( thought this may be due to just being slow so  ..... left it on over night , woke up in morning it still said 11 hours and was on same block.

Next time i restarted the client , it never sync'd nor made an attempt at syncing ...

and no i haven't tried to wipe all but wallet yet was trying to avoid a re download of the block chain

thanx again for replies

re-sync clock.. said was successful but same problem

I see in the log you posted:

Code:
Added time data, samples 2, offset -26 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 3, offset -15 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 4, offset -16 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 5, offset -16 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 6, offset +130 (+2 minutes)
Added time data, samples 7, offset -15 (+0 minutes)

That suggests that your clock was wrong by 15 seconds. I don't know how much that matters, but I do know that time constraints were severely tightened in the most recent release.

In my log, I see this:

Code:
Added time data, samples 26, offset -1 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 27, offset -1 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 28, offset +0 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 29, offset +0 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 30, offset +20 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 31, offset -1 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 32, offset +49 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 33, offset -1 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 34, offset -5 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 35, offset -3 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 36, offset -2 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 37, offset +3 (+0 minutes)
Added time data, samples 38, offset -2 (+0 minutes)

Some peers have their clock a little earlier, and some a little later. I think my clock is right.

Can you post a new log after you fixed your clock please?

Edit: never mind - I just reached the end of the thread and see that you fixed it...
