bitcoin-qt but don't remember the version (not home now)

launch your bitcoin client as usual and wait for it to load the blockchain and start up
click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
click on 'debug window'
select the 'console' tab
type:
Code:
walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 600
type:
Code:
dumpprivkey "your wallet address here"
this will return the private key, you can copy it now; ensure you clear your clipboard/history afterwards
type:
Code:
walletlock

If you never encrypted your wallet, then you don't need to do the "walletpassphrase" command. That's only needed to unlock the wallet if it is protected with passphrase encryption.
As far as the public key for dumpprivkey, that is asking what Bitcoin address you want the private key for.
To get the list of Bitcoin addresses in your wallet, you can use:
Code:
listreceivedbyaddress 0 true
or
Code:
listaddressgroupings

ty so much for your help sir

Can I still redeem Clams from my BTC wallet or it's over ?
Yes!
Clams do not expire on your BTC, LTC or DOGE address. They will be there for ever if you don't go pick them up! (Like kids at day care!!!)
Thx.
Did someone tried this ?
Quote
Dig CLAMs on Just-Dice.com
On Just-Dice.com you can type "/dig ADDRESS" to check if an address can be dug for clams. If you find one that is diggable (make sure you move the coins to a new address for your own protection) then you can dig the CLAMs by typing "/dig ADDRESS PRIVKEY". Make sure you don't use quoatations. The PRIVKEY must be in bitcoin-qt format. It will take about 10 minutes (10 confirms) for the CLAMs to show up in your balance.
Do this mean that I don't need to bother downloading the whole damn BTC + Clam blockchain ?
yup it works.

A couple important notes:

The above method does indeed work well.
It also makes it very easy for users to claim their CLAMS given they have their privKey.

It is important to note, however, that most users will receive more CLAMS if they use the conventional claim method.  The reason for this is that very few users have a deep understanding of what are called "Change" addresses.  This means that very often there are additional CLAMS associated to addresses that users have no idea that they control and own.

There is no need what-so-ever to sync/download the BTC chain, as there is no interaction between the chains.
In addition, the CLAM chain must only be sync'd to block 10k in order to see your claims/CLAMS.

For the sake of completeness:

THE CLAIM PROCESS:
Always back-up any wallet.dat files before moving, copying, or fiddling.

Optional(but recommended) Preparation: Empty the claim wallet into a new secure wallet.

  • Download and run the CLAMclient.
  • Click "File"->"Import Wallet", Browse to the wallet.dat file (BTC/LTC/DOGE).
  • Wait the client to automatically rescan the chain (may seem to be frozen, be patient).
  • Enjoy your CLAMS Smiley

The distribution was complete by block 10k.  So once you are sync'd to 10k, you will know if you have any CLAMS.

You can increase the speed of the sync by putting the bootstrap file in your data folder.

Somebody is trying hard with some script to get the price really down, but my guess is that (quite a lot of) somebody else will not be patient enough to find the bottom and will start buying sooner or later.

The client must be sync'd past roughly block 9,600 to check for CLAMS.

Here is a bootstrap download, simply place it in your data folder and start the client.

Don't put it into the subfolder. Put it into the the top level of the data folder, in the same place as your wallet.dat

Wait for the client to sync(download the entire CLAMs blockchain) first.
