All we need now is the S1 upgrade kits to be announced
Then I will become a happy multi-terahash miner.
How does it work? Would it just be replacing the S1 blades with S3s on the existing S1 frames (without the shroud)? Would a fan be included in the upgrade kit since the S1 only came with one 12038 fan? that would be nice if that controller would run an s-3 blade the beeping issue would go by by

I placed an order for 2X Batch 4 S3s and paid in full... and my order does not show as receiving payment though the tx has confirmed many times and I have checked the address I sent it to and it is the same as in the email.
I have emailed and messaged them about this and no response.
PLEASE RESPOND I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY ORDER!

This often happens, it gets sorted out eventually. I hope so... I could have ordered from Zoomhash but it is $570 a pop + shipping so... I am hoping I didn't just lose 1.3 BTC ordering direct.

Also it seems that discarded shares ## are higher on ghash and btcguild than on eligius (personal observation on the same miner by rotating pools).

With the frenzy on these boards today to buy from these guys, what makes you think you just lost your coin? I would chill until things get sorted out. Because if you can't afford to lose that money, you might not have needed to make that purchase in the first place.

When I ordered my Batch 1 S3's, it took a little while for the whole transaction to process. It'll all hash out in the end ...

I realize they are busy... so I am not freaking out about it... just concerned. Never did I say I can't afford to lose anything... in fact... its pure profit off a $20 rental a few days ago that paid for these so they are essentially free and then some... a treat to myself for jumping on a hugely profitable coin launch yet again. EDIT: And as i type that... email goes off... Bitmain confirming order and payment... EXCELLENT! Thanks for putting my mind at ease... I await my S3s eagerly and will love them as much as I did my S1s!

Yeah, I have one that is great at 440g using 218, but the other one I had to bump up to 225 to get it to 440. Otherwise it would just sit around 415.

Lots of people got their coupons, but has ANYONE received their refund? I got the auto email response for querying the Bitmain website a day ago but no refund yet.

Received my S3's today and set them up this evening. The first one has no lines in the 'ASIC status' but the second one has a single line in it's 2nd 'ASIC status':
00000000 00000000 00000000 000000-0
Both are running off an EVGA 1300 Gold PSU using two PCI-e cables each.
I took the lid off the second S3 and took the heat-sinks off and cleaned up all chips re-applied a small dot of thermal CPU paste, reassembled and the 'ASIC status' was initially all clear and then after a couple of reboots the line re-appeared in the 'ASIC status'. Any suggestions?
The first S3 has ~421 and ~420 GHs running at stock frequency of 218.75.
The second S3 has ~475 and ~419 GHs running at same stock frequency.
They've only been running for half an hour.

you can reboot the second one with the gui reboot option. if the _ sticks change the freq to 212.5 both of my miners won't mine well at 218.75 they have 1 or 2 constant _ but both are good at 212.5

Just received 1/2 of my S3s order today. Apparently the other miner was last scanned in Hong Kong and DHL has since lost track of it. I'm sure they'll find it, but...annoying.
As for the miner, I have all hour 6-pin connectors hooked up running from a 12V server breakout. Fastest speeds so far have been 430GH at 218.75. Any frequency higher than that is detrimental to performance.
Is there really any need to use all four 6-pin inputs?
Anyawy, here's hoping DHL gets my second Ant here tomorrow!

On a related note, I'm moving my entire operation to a DC next month, and have the most tolerant and patient wife in the world.
Did this 6 months ago and glad I did. Details anywhere? Thinking about this myself, since I had an army of S3's in batch 1, and just ordered an army more in batch 4. Good old-fashioned Google web searching, making some phone calls, talking to some people, going out and getting tours of data centers. Ask them, "I need x kWh of power with minimal internet bandwidth requirements. How can you accommodate my needs ?" I looked at a lot of places too. I recommend choosing one where you have 24/7 unescorted access. Usually this is smaller datacenters. Also - know that if you say I want a 30 Amp circuit most will only let you use 80% of that or 24 amps. Makes a big difference in calculating what you need.
