Due to my own cause, I can't access the Web UI.
What method using CLI can I check for blocks found/balance?
I really like this coin concept, not giving up.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Logo submition for Burst:

I like that one the most so far, maybe the front needs changing or colors to be perfect, but I'm no artist.

Also, is there a way to make a plot on an external drive, but without putting pocminer on it so I can just have a single instance of pocminer on my main drive?
Wasn't sure of the command to state the location of the plots folder if not default.

What height are we at? I don't have any confirms so want to be sure it is working right.

I am at height 645 with 110'000 unconfirmed.

That sounds about right. I hear it takes forever to get them confirmed.
Mine get confirmed really quickly, and I only have 20,000?

Are you sure they are confirmed? Mine look like they are available but they are not. Open the send dialog and see if yours are actually available.
Yeah, they are.

Are you sure? I thought I read earlier that it is about 4 days to confirm. Go to dashboard, click on more info on the account balance tab. It shows all of my coins unconfirmed at this point.

I assume everyone else shows the same?

Mine shows unconfirmed when I do that. I think it is a bit unclear as to what is actually available.

But if you click that more info link it will tell you.

Found my First Block after 3h on my 30GB test plot. Smiley
Now I'm going to create more plots.

How long can i mine on one plot?

What size hdd did you do that on? What is your run generate bat command line conf?

My 36gb test plot its on my ssd with
-Xmx2000m 0 140625 1024 2
My next plot run on my HDD with 1TB free volume.
 -Xmx1500m  0 512000 1024 2

But i have no idea how long i can mine on the plots.

I have idea either how long you can mine on the plots or if they just get written over to mine again.

What's the -Xmx####m used for? What does a lower/higher value effect mining?

My miner runs with -Xmx750. I think the Miner is primarily dependent RAM?

That's not bad. A HDD should definitely be included in the logo.

The Xmx is heap size. Basically what it means is that the java VM that is created always allocates that much space. It doesn't necessarily use it but it reserves it.

I am only slightly familiar with heap so please correct me on the definition if I am wrong.

I have an idea about fast plot generation, will test it tomorrow when my 4TB drive comes in!

BTW: BURST-HLDE-XC5P-AYXL-7P49P found 2 blocks in a r0w (#644+#645)

Is my external IP actually supposed to show up in the 'peers' section of my wallet? Because if so, I'm doinitrong.

Can anyone shed some light on this? There's definitely some people in peers. Wondering if I should actually be showing up in there.
I suppose I'm currently mining as my miner is submitting shares, so I'm not sure whether I should actually care about this.

You don't need to be, but more peers is better for the network. If you want to make sure you show up for others, make sure you put your external ip in conf/nxt-default.properties, and forward port 8123 to yourself in your router if you have one.

I think we have so many questions, some are answered, some repeated and some unanswered.

we need to create some FAQ, maybe dev can put it on the first post, these are the questions i collected, please answer or improve it so later maybe dev can compile it into single FAQ and put it on front page

  • 1. What is Burst unique features ?
  • 2. What is Proof of Capacity?
  • 3. How do I increase my mining performance ?
  • 4. Where is the source code ?
  • 5. What is the difference between Nxt based wallet and regular bitcoin-qt wallet
  • 6. Which one is my public key?
  • 7. Which one is my private key, and how do I backup it?
  • 8. How do I know when i am mining correctly ?
  • 9. Can i use multiple hard drive for mining?
  • 10. what is plots, scoops and nonce-range?
  • 11. what kind of component that affect mining performance ?
  • 12. which one is better, single 1 TB drive or dual 500 GB drive ?
  • 13. can i just copy my generated plots, and use it somewhere else ?
  • 14. is there a mining pool ?
  • 15. why there is no logo ?
  • 16. Can the password be changed without restarting the plot creation?

This is a good idea, I'll fill this out a little later.

Yeah, difficulty is getting insane. Not that long ago I noticed I got a 686000 deadline on an almost full 2TB drive.

plot generation is a interesting concept of this coin ... it grants a fair distribution at this point, cause nobody can instantly use e.g. 40tb for mining ... even with 12 threads running, it will take weeks to enable such a capacity for mining ... therefore everyone has the chance to grab a block. only way to increase the generation speed is to use more cpu-power ... and thats nice at this point.

and imagine all the other effects this plot generation may have ... if you take this serious and setup a few tb, you can not instantly switch to clone or something ... kind of user 'binding' ... who would leave or not mine if initial costs are payed :-)

so ... think twice ... would it be a good thing making these plots faster ... there is always a bigger fish :-)

I will be curious to see how difficulty plays out. If the coin hits an exchange at a good price I am sure a HDD arms race will start. (lol)

Unless another coin comes out using the same algorithm I would think most people will continue to mine this one. There isn't much cost associated with mining once you are set up.
