At the end of the day , people in NXT might end up holding both NXT and burst or decide to sell half of their NXT to buy burst. Owning 50% NXT and 50% burst to reduce risk.

Improvements against the Java miner:

• At least a 5 times better performance. With a Haswell CPUs up to 14 times.
• Break and continue a plot a latter time. Please break only between writes.
• Optional asynchronous mode for writing the plots in the background. Use twice as much RAM.
• I have only access to Intel CPUs, so I don't know if it is working for AMD CPUs.
• Setting lower priority class at start up to ease the impact for foreground applications (e.g. miner)

Usage: wplotgenerator <account id> <start nonce> <number of nonces> <stagger size> <threads> [/async]
         <account id> = your numeric acount id
         <start nonce> = where you want to start plotting, if this is your first HDD then set it to 0, other wise set it to your last hdd's <start nonce> + <number of nonces>
         <number of nonces> = how many nonces you want to plot - 200gb is about 800000 nonces
         <stagger size> = set it to 2x the amount of MB RAM your system has (with async 1x the RAM your system has)
         <threads> = How many CPU threads you want to utilise
       options:
         /async ... writing plots from a background-thread for best throughput (needs twice as much RAM)

Lawl.  10 TB is NOTHING in this coin these days, thanks to the advent of GPU plotting, the equivalent of ASICs for this coin.  

I am glad I'm out of it, and my 10,931 BURST coins are waiting for a price rise to be sold, and I predicted that this coin will never get over 500 satoshis again.  So far, I have been correct for several weeks.

And WOW, a WHOLE ZERO POINT TWO PERCENT bonus to the miners? Please, whatever you do, don't strain yourself paying money to those who mined the coins for you!!!

Nope. There was a statement that said no PoS.

Proof of stake vs mining ... i don't think both is such a good idea unless it was said so at the start. Burst will remain PoC untill all of it is mined....then it kinda automatically becomes PoS(bitcoin will)

I'm trying to mine with around 6 GB of storage but I keep running into memory issues. I tried all sorts of plot and stagger sizes (1 GB to 1100 GB files, 1024 to to 8k stagger) and miners but all of the miners end up using 5 GB+ memory (paged pool) but I'd like to run the drives from another machine with 4GB memory.

You must be using the java miner, if so, I recommend switching to the C miner.

edit: I should note, that this miner is only for pool, and only works with Uray-sourced pools. Such as burstpool.ddns.net:8124

Both uray's miner and dcct & Blago's miner have the same issue. I'm using windows, though.

Nothing wrong with PoS...but i prefer the idea of reserveshare....it may be a scam, but the idea is cool(part from the 10% pa, that's too high)

Hi all,

I've setup a BURST pool at http://tompool.org:82, it appears to be working however I'm not seeing the share tally change. I only have about 800GB plotted so far but the other miner has around 6TB. Is this simply a case of low plotting power meaning the shares are too insignificant to be counted in 2 decimal places or am I missing a setting?

The best share I've seen on the pool so far is 41 years :/

Bitcoin won't become PoS, even when the block reward falls to zero. Mining will be sustained by transaction fees at that point.

There's some fundamental reasons why PoS just doesn't work in practice. I recommend reading the paper Distributed Consensus from Proof of Stake is Impossible.
