1001  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a bubble anyway? on: June 24, 2017, 07:35:31 AM
I don't think that we are in a bubble because if we are in the bubble then the price will just collapse and a lot of people now are not comfortable with their holdings. Cryptocurrencies in the top 10 of coinmarketcap are not bubble because they work hard on their project or updates for that place and we all know that they are all decentralized so there is no control that can be able to happen and they are all just basing in the demand of the users that will add more market capitalization and will boost their rank.

Bubbles don't burst immediately. They take time to expand and one day when you least expect it, the bubble pops. It is impossible to say when.
So the fact that the market hasn't collapsed yet doesn't indicate that we don't have a bubble.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [Worrying]Whales setting up wall all over the market currently on: June 24, 2017, 07:32:54 AM
If we always buy and sell looking at the buy and sell wall, all our markets will be manipulated so bad one day Cry Cry Cry
We should invest into projects with good prospect instead?

It is tough to do 'fundamental analysis' on the crypto world. Currently, all altcoins have risen in the crypto bull rally.
When the bubble bursts, the good coins will go down as well. The shit coins will be wiped out.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 24, 2017, 07:28:54 AM
Roger Federer has just won 2-0 against M. Zverev and is in the quarterfinals at Halle.
Now he has an easy draw to the final: quarter-finals against Mayer (134th atp), semi-final against Khachanov or Rublev.

Federer is improving his shape to be 100% in Wimbledon, where he will be the big favorite

Roger Federer has reached the semi-finals, with a straights set victory over Florian Mayer. He will face Khachanov in the next round.
He really looks in good touch for Wimbledon.
1004  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can be a great store of value. Not for small transactions. on: June 20, 2017, 04:49:55 PM
Yes, Bitcoin was meant to be an investment from the start, like gold but digital and with limited supply. Given the fees Bitcoin will never be used for micr-transactions. An alternative way may be to use an altcoin with low fees and fast transaction time, but that would be a long way to go for many to start adopting it. Smiley

But things are changing, nothing is ment to, stay still and so isn't the Bitcoin. This issue with fees will come to the place and people will figure out that certain adaptions are needed. I'm afraid that altcoins will never become so popular and have so real and practical use and value in real life like Bitcoin.

People have figured out that changes are needed; the problem is that they can't agree on what.
And the urge to stick to consensus might just result in things getting worse.
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 20, 2017, 04:47:30 PM
Johanna Konta looks to be in good touch for Wimbledon. She has reached the semi-finals of the Nottingham Open.
She is the British #1 and people will expect a good showing from her in Wimbledon.
Konta has had a good season so far but I dont think she's got what it takes to win a slam. None of the British WTA contingent do(as of now). It would be nice to see some brits do well in Wimbledon though but, sadly I dont think any brit being in the best of form right now. Hopefully Jamie Murray in Mens doubles brings something home. Andy Murray seems to be struggling a little since the time Clay season started and Grass being really quick surface, doesnt help defensive styled players.

Tennis players hardly seem to have any rest! Konta is back in action at the Aegon Classic.
She has defeated Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko to advance to the second round.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 29 things that are wrong with Bancor on: June 19, 2017, 03:47:47 PM
http://hackingdistributed.com/2017/06/19/bancor-is-flawed/

Great article about the total shitshow that is Bancor.
Personally if I owned any of this coin I would dump it the minute it hits the exchanges.
My prediction is that it makes money at first, slowly drops as people realize its not a needed service, then burns to the ground when the shoddy code is exploited and becomes the next DAO.

I'll be sitting on the sideline for this one.

The fact that they raised so much money so quickly, with no workable product makes it suspect. The only reason why $144 Mn got invested is because there is an ICO mania going around.
Better not to take undue risks with this one.

Johanna Konta looks to be in good touch for Wimbledon. She has reached the semi-finals of the Nottingham Open.
She is the British #1 and people will expect a good showing from her in Wimbledon.
I am looking forward to watch her too . Wimbledon never fails to entertain us and hope the home-players play well which makes it more entertaining .

She is looking better and better. She has reached the finals of the Nottingham Open with a straight sets victory. This is her first finals in grass court and will be nice practice for Wimbledon.

I'm also watching her as well. It will be historic if win the Wimbledon this year. She is world no. 8 and I think she can vastly improved her rankings if she win at least a Majors this year. And yeah, I just read that she just reached the finals of Nottingham. She will face either Croat Donna Vekic or Czech Lucie Safarova on Sunday

The final is against the Croat Donna Vekic. Johanna Konta looks to be in good touch.
She has broken Vekic's serve early in the first set and should be the favourite to win this game,

You guys expectation went wrong in this Nottingham event Johanna Konta lost her finals against Croat Donna Vekic. Yes as you told she played well in the 1st set and she won that set by 6-2. After losing this set, D. Vekić played a fantastic game she won the 2nd and 3rd set by 7-6 and 7-5. Neck to neck game finally D. Vekić won this Nottingham title congrats.

The result was a shocker. Vekic is ranked 70 in the world. She came back strongly after losing the first set to Johanna Konta.
After Konta lost the tie breaker in the second set, she seemed to be under pressure all the time.
1008  Economy / Speculation / Re: How far off is the next bear market? Will BTC and altcoin bear market coincide? on: June 19, 2017, 03:36:34 PM
Am I the only one that is reminded of the dot com bubble right now? I mean, I have the feeling all these amateur day traders are getting into altcoins and that they're going to freak when they actually have to deal with a bear market. A lot of greed, market looks very vulnerable to me. But how far off is the bear market, and will it his altcoins and bitcoin equally, or just altcoins? How much steam does this bull run have left? Part of me thinks this is just round 1 of the bull run.

I don't think the next bear market is far away. Both Bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies will go through a bear market. Though I think alts will be more severely impacted. They certainly have risen disproportionately in the bull market.
1009  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-16] Top German Banker Warns Cryptocurrencies Could Precipitate a Finan on: June 18, 2017, 04:02:29 PM
Bankers trying to spread fear about cryptocurrency. Their motive could only to be ensure that regulatory framework takes out anything which could be unfavourable to them.
If they really fear cryptocurrencies could precipitate a crisis, they could begin by derisking their balance sheets and ensuring that they don't gamble with other people's money.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETC/LTC is now so overvalued on: June 18, 2017, 03:53:10 PM
I think they areboth overvalued because of the uncertainty surrounding Bitcoin scaling issue, when this is resolved I can see both prices correcting back to normal. This is a good time for both Ethereum and Litcoin bagholders

Sound like we have a Bitcoin bagholder here  Smiley
You can still get on board this train brother

Bitcoin bagholder?? People who bought bitcoins at any price are probably sitting on profits now! I wouldn't call them bagholders.
Of course, the only thing they can regret is missing the altcoin train. That train has probably left the station now.
1011  Economy / Economics / Re: If USD falls on: June 18, 2017, 03:49:20 PM
There's generally two ways to look at the relationship between USD and btc. The first is that bitcoin has intrinsic value indpendent of USD, so if the USD falls, btc (while indpendently stable) will "appreciate" in value relative to the USD. An offshoot of this is that the failing dollar would send people piling into btc, which would push the price up. The opposite of this view is that it's excessive wealth created by the stable value of the USD that creates the wealth necessary to allow people to speculate on bitcoin, and if the world's most stable currency failed, people would flee the riskiest assets in a massive flight to safety, which would tank the bitcoin price.

Personally, I fall into this second group. The failure of the dollar would tank the world economy, bitcoin included, which is the king of speculative assets. People will flee speculative assets and pile into traditionally safe assets, which would include gold, silver, and probably the Euro and Yen as the remaining stable fiat currencies.

The question is whether Bitcoin is seen as a truly speculative asset or is it seen as an alternative to gold. If people feel that it could become an alternative to gold, then those fleeing USD in search of safety might be tempted to buy bitcoins.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My feeling right now on: June 18, 2017, 03:18:06 PM
Here i what I'm thinking is about to happen. Total marketcap doesn't seem to past 111 000 000 000$ mark, so it seems like no more new money is comming right now. I don't think everything will crash, but shitcoins or very average coins that offer nothing new will crash hard.

So take some good decision now, because it will not be as easy as it been last couple month for profit.

A lot of new coins are generated through mining and new money has to come in even for current price levels to be maintained. The  market does look ripe for a correction. Of course, a lot of coins have risen up for no good reason. These will be wiped out.
1013  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can be a great store of value. Not for small transactions. on: June 18, 2017, 03:13:25 PM
Looking at the present situation the price of bitcoin is not that good for small transactions. Recently I too experiencd it personally when made a small transaction where 1/10 the amount was paid as transaction fee. With higher volume transaction this won't be happening.

Small transactions have nothing to do with the price of bitcoin. It's more about the issue transaction capacity per Block.
SegWit will bring some short to midterm improvement here.In the future Layer 2 implementations like Lightning Network, Thunder Network etc. will be inevitable. A small blocksize increase of 2-4mb may be possible as well. But not much more as the base layer has to be as much decentralized as possible. Yo can build centralized and decentralized services on top of a decentralized base layer but not the other way around!
So with layer 2 implementations small transactions, micro transactions will be possible again what the price of Bitcoin will be.

Unfortunately, there is no consensus even on small blocksize increases. If you look at the extent of centralization, it is not going to change just because the blocksize is increased marginally. However, increasing the transaction capacity would result in the price rocketing.

1015  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc reached the bottom for this week , correction and retest 3,000 $ ? on: June 17, 2017, 03:58:09 PM
Correlation is under way! It has not make a correlation yet. The price will test $2,800 before pull back to around or below $2300. Getting to $3000 soon need a strong fundamental issues and a heavy pump. I desire to see price above $3000 so I can make good return on my investment.

I think you are talking about correction, not correlation.  Grin
I agree that we might see a lot more volatility before we break $3000 again. In any case, long term holders need not worry.

1017  Economy / Speculation / Re: No need to panic guys! Here's why... on: June 16, 2017, 03:56:19 PM
If BTC price goes down we can get more coins! Come on baby make it $500 I won't mind!

If BTC price goes up...  Grin to the Moon of $100,000 we go! Be patient... your patience will be granted

You guys need to be more optimistic about Bitcoin in general..

Now that is a positive attitude toward Bitcoin.

The drop on Bitcoin's price is literally an opportunity for some investors in order for them to buy in at a low price. Everyone that can afford to buy Bitcoin wishes to see a massive drop in order to get on board cheap.

The picture of $10,000 per Bitcoin is possible, however, the question is when exactly.

It is not a price where investors should rush in. Even after the correction, bitcoin is still worth more than what it was worth a month back.
That is the extent of Bitcoin's rise.  Smiley

1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do People Invest Into DOGE? on: June 15, 2017, 03:09:03 PM
People are diversifying their investment and they even bought doge. Doge is an old coin that is still active today. Recently, there is a popular trend that they are reviving old coins, tokenizing it or relaunching it. The interest grows on this old coins so with doge.

Diversification for the sake of diversification is pointless. Doge is an expansionary coin, and its value will get inflated away.
There are plenty of other coins that you can buy and hold.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: June 15, 2017, 03:03:20 PM
Should appreciate the tail ender batsmans of Bangladesh. They did well and got Bangladesh to a competitive score. Bangladesh have a chance of pulling this off if they take early wickets but Dhawan and Rohit are in great form and can withstand any type of bowling. Interesting match..

India have gotten off to an extremely strong start in this match. Although Dhawan couldn't score a half century, their run rate is brisk and it looks like they will chase down this score quickly. Bangladesh can only win this match by taking quick wickets.
