1041  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cryps.space-new web-space for communication in crypto-industry! on: December 27, 2018, 10:16:27 AM
At this point it doesn't really look interesting to me.
Why even post it, when it's not going to be launched for another 44 days?

Also, the image on the home page doesn't load and you literally have no design on that page.
It's not like you even have a revolutionary idea or anything like that. I for one wouldn't even think about donating when you have nothing to show for it.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: According to Yahoo Finance, Waves is fastest public blockchain in World. on: December 27, 2018, 10:07:29 AM
I'm not too sure about that, the article does not mention exactly how fast the confirmation times are.
Frankly, the article reads more like an advertisement, since there's almost no editorial input.

The only thing we're getting are claims made by people who are involved with the project itself.

Steem and EOS both have confirmation times of just a couple of seconds.

Source: https://www.abitgreedy.com/transaction-speed/

How does that compare to Waves?
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino review on: December 26, 2018, 03:14:38 PM
It's only a good idea if you can offer some unique insights and valuable editorial content.
There are already tons of casino review websites out there and most of them only exist to get more affiliates to the creators of these websites.

Is that your plan? Or are you going to skip adding affiliate links altogether?
1044  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 26, 2018, 12:12:10 PM
Yeah, they're actually not approving many accounts right now, it's better to just pay a small fee to create one through either Blocktrades or AnonSteem.
Then it's instant Smiley

Thanks for the payment, no worries about the delay Wink
Although I secretly hope it was an alcohol induced delay (meaning you had a great party!)

No need to answer that Tongue
1046  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 25, 2018, 02:35:22 PM
Thanks for the feature on your Twitter account! I'm still going to write that article soon, possibly tomorrow.
First have some family obligations because of the holidays, you know how it is Wink

Gave you a follow and retweeted your post.

Also consider creating a Steemit account for yourself, be sure to mention it when you do, then I'll add you to my auto-upvote queue.
1047  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone here active on musing.io? on: December 25, 2018, 01:28:44 PM
For blockchain-based Q&A platform, it's great (at least for general/common question).

However i prefer choose Quora, Stackexchange or BTT for technical-oriented question. I've searched for few question such as What is the state of Bitcoin's lightning network right now? & Is the growing size of Bitcoin blockchain dangerous ?, and frankly the answer is shallow unlike answer on Quora or stackexchange.

Hmm yeah now that I'm taking a look at musing again, the first 2 questions I saw about cryptocurrency - apart from maybe the first answer - the responses are significantly lower in quality when compared to Quora. Not just shallow, typos jumping out at you, and generally just very unhelpful responses. There's a regular too... he answers by listing the Top 10 on CMC and his is the top 5 most voted answers. That type of impression kills the site's reputation. Worse, he's not the only one doing it and those similar lists get voted.

The thing is, it could turn into something great, but like I mentioned in my last post on this thread, there are some really glaring issues that need fixing first.
I'm hoping for them to come out with an update that basically prevents people from earning for writing low-quality replies.

I've brought this up in a few posts of mine on Steemit, but Musing did not respond to them yet.
It's got potential, but they need to work on their presentation first.

Might have been a little bit too positive about it in my previous posts in this thread.

Also @buwaytress I share your concerns about Steemit itself.
As long as bots run the platform, it's basically useless as a social media website.

My hope is that Steem Inc will slowly start selling all of their shares in the platform and let the community take over.
The mismanagement of the platform is hugely their fault IMO and once new Steem interfaces start popping up, the bots will no longer be an issue.

There are already people working on building dapps that completely erradicate any posts on which bots have been used.
Which is a step in the right direction.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggest me some gambling site on: December 25, 2018, 12:01:36 PM
If you're planning on playing now during the holidays, might I suggest you try out Crypto-Games.
They have a pretty awesome Christmas promo going on, enabling you to win some additional coins by hitting certain bet-ids on their dice.

You can try out their service for free with the faucet or you can instantly make a deposit to start playing right away.

They've been running their casino successfully for years now and are very active on the forum.
Any question you might have, they can answer in the chat on their website or on their thread on the Bitcointalk forum.

Check out their promo thread here:

1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the Bitcoin's business plan and responsible people behind it ? on: December 25, 2018, 11:14:34 AM
I always find it so weird when people refer to Bitcoin as though it's run/owned by a single entity.
OP, you have quite a few posts here in the forum, I don't get why you're talking as if you don't know that Bitcoin is decentralized.

How can anyone be responsible to make Bitcoin work? Different companies and entities might have a financial interest to 'make it work', but I would never call it a responsibility.
Very weird phrasing...
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live Betting vs Online Betting on: December 25, 2018, 10:45:09 AM
I don't know which one I prefer actually, both are pretty fun in my opinion, but in a different way.
When I'm on holiday, I do like to go to the casino sometimes, just because most of them have a pretty fun atmosphere and you usually get free food and drinks.
Nothing beats sitting at the roulette table and sipping on some cocktails...

On the other hand, with online gambling, especially at cryptocurrency casinos, you know exactly how much the house edge is and you know that the casino isn't cheating you.
So it really depends, both can be fun.
1051  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎅Crypto-Games.net 🎅4 Years Old 🎅LARGEST wagering contest 🎅Christmas presents on: December 24, 2018, 09:44:25 AM
Time go go hunting for those additional rewards!

1052  Other / Meta / Re: When my account rank will change? on: December 22, 2018, 04:49:19 PM
I still have something to add that hasn't been said before @ The Pharmacist

OP, you should really focus on writing more quality replies, take this reply of you as an example.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5056407.msg47730711#msg47730711

Here you quote the entire god damn Original Post and add a bullshit reply of 3 words.
Going through some of your other replies, I see the same behavior.

You should make more posts like this one:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5079906.msg48439366#msg48439366

Although you could argue that it's not really an interesting topic, but at least you put some effort into it.

Edit: Locking the thread would be a good idea indeed, I know I was changing the subject, but OP might learn something.
1053  Other / Meta / Re: Alternatives to Permabans for plagarism on: December 22, 2018, 03:57:37 PM
I'd personally leave it as it is now, keep the permaban.
Plagiarism is just so easy to avoid, in almost all cases it's a deliberate action of the user and should be met with the harshest punishment possible.

Now, I do understand that there might be some cases where the user didn't intend to plagiarize and merely forgot to post a source link.
Those cases are pretty easy to spot though, thus before issuing a permaban, mods should be absolutely certain that the user's intent was to plagiarize.
1054  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 21, 2018, 09:42:20 PM
Good tip, didn't notice that at first.

Changed it to: https://www.clica.net/user/daan

Now it's a bit more readable Smiley
1055  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 21, 2018, 09:10:49 PM
I didn't receive the e-mail notifications, since they were turned off by default.
I've turned them on now though.

I personally wouldn't mind if they were turned on by default, since I'd want to know when someone supports me.
That's definitely not considered spam IMO.
1056  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 21, 2018, 08:45:15 PM
Aha yeah, I was a bit confused.
Refreshing the page itself didn't show my deposit, but clicking the little refresh button next to my balance did the job. (probably something with the browser cache)

It's working pretty good, I have to say. I'll write an article on Steemit about your service, probably next week or so, I'll let you know when it's published.
https://steemit.com/@daan

And thanks for being my first subscriber! Wink

Edit:

I'll look at this some more tomorrow and i'll probably build my page a bit more.
Really cool project, I'm a big fan!
1057  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 21, 2018, 08:33:13 PM
Yup, received it and sent it to my other account, same e-mail address, but with an 8 between my first and last name Wink
Just made the deposit, waiting for confirmations.

Here's my creator account:

https://www.clica.net/user/1102583103

How many confirmations do deposits need before they show up in your account btw?
You might want to add that information somewhere.
1058  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 21, 2018, 07:50:33 PM
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, like eternalgloom said, the price in dollars will be to attract people that doesn't know too much what is a bitcoin, it's more for easy undestanding / conversion.

Eternalgloom, the address you sent me is your BTC address? I tried here to check on blockchain and appears to be wrong: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qltpzzzyglvtqttxe2wk7zdd0njr4u2xt5g4m9x

I'll send you some Bitcoins so you can test (I already tested it with 3 accounts, I can subscribe to your page if that's the case), and you will see how it works, what do you think?

It's a Bech32 segwit address, blockchain.com doesn't support that Wink

Normally you can send it using most wallets, I personally use Electrum.
If it doesn't work you can also use this, but I'd spend more on fees Tongue

Edit:

Yeah or you can just support me directly, I'll give you a review afterwards Smiley
1059  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Alternative to Patreon? Clica.net, a membership platform based on Bitcoins on: December 21, 2018, 05:30:09 PM
Some general feedback

1. Please accept other major coins like ETH/Doge along with Bitcoins.
2. The website is nicely designed but still lacks the professional structuring. This is important because your project has potential and you don't want someone else to do it better than you.
3. You said the prices will be displayed in dollars why? It's a Bitcoin-based platform and you should motivate people to get used to bitcoin units.

I don't quite agree with points 1 and 3.

1. It's not bad to just start out with accepting Bitcoin exclusively, this is obviously a new service, he doesn't have to accept multiple cryptocurrencies all at once.

3. Nothing wrong with that. It's just easier for people. I imagine he also wants to attract regular users; I personally don't even want to do the calculations myself anyways.
Besides with the volatility being so high, it also makes sense to use the fiat equivalents.
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF you were/are living on BTC/Crypto. Is buying mining equipment dead? Take Poll on: December 21, 2018, 03:35:26 PM
@Searing

I would think that it's fairly difficult to calculate accurate average rates for the US, since the prices would be very different, depending in which state you live.
Haha, at least you still have your node running! There should be more people like you Wink
