1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 06, 2023, 04:10:55 AM

So in the last game it might be that Memphis wants to win this game, then OKC is in trouble and Dallas could profit from that.

I think Memphis will give the win to Oklahoma City, as it Dallas Mavericks would be a tough matchup in the the playoffs compared to the young OKC team. Despite the Mavericks winning their remaining games, I feel that OKC is still likely to make it to the play-in tournament.

This is their own fault for not winning enough games, so they may need to make adjustments next season, as there is plenty of time in the off-season, especially if Kyrie decides to stay with the team.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: April 06, 2023, 03:16:18 AM

So definitely expect a late KO or TKO in case Loma wins this fight.

That's true, as Loma might have a difficult time beating Haney if he can't land any significant punches, given that Haney is a very quick and younger boxer with high stamina. However, Loma has already demonstrated great technique against Rigo, and we may see some of that in this fight since Rigo and Haney have a somewhat similar boxing style.

Lomachenko is not an ordinary boxer, and I'm sure Haney has not faced a boxer like Lomachenko. Some might think that Lomachenko is already old, but that could be true. Nevertheless, he is still fighting and has won his previous fights, so Haney should respect Lomachenko's boxing skills. Otherwise, he might be surprised to find that he is no longer undefeated.
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 06, 2023, 01:18:15 AM
I don't think Donaire will retire as long as he can still make money. As long as he remains a champion, he will see it as an opportunity to earn more before retiring. Most boxers retire when they can no longer win and sell their fights, but Donaire's journey may be different since he is still considered a dominant fighter despite his age.
Undoubtedly, in the world of boxing, money plays a significant role. While Donaire is undoubtedly popular, he is not as wealthy as the boxers in the upper division who become champions. Therefore, he will likely take this opportunity to continue fighting and making money at the same time. The outcome of this fight is essential, as if Donaire were to lose, he may not consider continuing his boxing career.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 05, 2023, 01:10:26 PM

I don't see logic in your analysis that since both Tank and Garcia have similar powerful punches, it is impossible for the fight to finish early. On the contrary, it is that exact reason why the fight will probably finish early.

Perhaps the fight won't end early since both boxers are likely to respect each other and not engage in an all-out war from the beginning. Despite their claims of being able to knock each other down easily, both boxers are capable of delivering powerful punches. However, I believe that once they are in the ring, they will feel the strength of their opponent and become more cautious, avoiding a solid punch that could potentially end the fight.

In my opinion, the fight could still end early if it finishes within the first six rounds.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: April 05, 2023, 12:20:59 PM
We might hear more about it after the fight against Nghitumbwa, else, if there's none to come out meaning to say that he might just use that route to promote his fight and to bring audience attentions.

All he needs to do for now is to win this fight via TKO or KO if he could because he hasn't been getting real good fights since he fought Guillermo Rigondeaux and he is delayed too much because of some disqualifications before the fight. Thankfully he got the win in his last fight after a review by the Korea Boxing Member Commission if not, then his career is not looking good at the moment. He needs this kind of exposure and does his thing again to catch the fans' attention and somehow will get his chance to be Inoue's next opponent.
If Casimero's opponent is prepared to withstand his power punches, we may see a KO victory. However, we should not underestimate his opponent, despite being relatively unknown. He has a high KO percentage, which is sure to present a tough challenge for Casimero. So if Casimero wins this fight, it will significantly boost his career as his ranking will improve. This would open up the possibility of a championship fight for him in the near future.

Even if we can say for now that Casimero has all the advantage still he's camp shouldn't take this one as easy fight for them. Remember that there's something like this happen before and many thought that Pacquaio will dominate Ugas but it didn't happen, but rather Ugas totally dominate Pacquaio at that fight so  Casimero need to be more prepared for this to avoid the same like scenario since Nghitumbwa is also dangerous opponent to fight on.

That's a valid point, as Ugas has proven himself to be a worthy challenger and has already fought popular fighters in the past. However, I believe that Casimero should not be complacent and should maintain the same rigorous training or even intensify it to ensure he stays in shape and potentially secures an impressive KO win.

And regarding his popularity, it still exists but it's different when a boxer is no longer a champion.

Troy Rosario will be busy too to defend Jamie Malonzo.

Did Troy Rosario get traded back to TNT? I'm not entirely sure since the last time I checked, he was playing with Blackwater. It's possible that I may be outdated with recent events. Can you please confirm if there have been any updates regarding his transfer?

PBA approves three-team trade involving Troy Rosario, Calvin Oftana

Blackwater then shipped Oftana and Soyud to the Tropang Giga for Rosario and small forward Gab Banal.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 04, 2023, 01:02:26 AM
Tapales fight is this weekend, just check my favorite sport bookies, unfortunately, it's not yet listed.

However, I'm not going to be surprised if he will be the underdog this Sunday. But you can't never discount Filipinos in boxing. We already have the precedent in Manny Pacquiao.

Thank you for sharing this news with me. I've heard of this fighter before and I think he's a decent competitor. I would be interested in betting on him if he's listed as an underdog on the bookies. It's possible that the odds aren't available yet, but we can check a day before the fight when bookies typically list odds for less popular fights.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for a beginner, a reality in a difficult time? on: April 03, 2023, 09:57:24 PM
At this time, is it possible for a beginner to learn bitcoin, where is it better, which courses are effective?
If you have the eagerness to learn, then you can maximize your bitcoin learning as much as you can. No need to take courses, you can make a good learning even in the forum itself m. And when you think it’s not enough, then that’s the time that you will scroll all over the internet and search everything that talks about bitcoin. However, make sure that you are reading those legit information from legit sources, and not from those crypto influencers who keep on shilling their projects.
1129  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 03, 2023, 09:44:53 PM
@Smack That Ace, as an economist, savings should not only have one purpose, like you said for emergencies. It's an arguable fact, which I am in doubt of. Savings, whether for a wealthy lifestyle or not, cannot be limited to emergencies. If you work to earn a living and your salary cannot cover the cost of a car and you need to purchase one, you will definitely save to achieve that goal, or you will be deemed to take a loan and buy the car, in which case you will still need to save so you can repay the loan. There are a lot of instances to consider.

My bad, I didn't remember that. You are right, the savings can also be used for other purposes as you mentioned, not just for emergencies.

But honestly, I never thought about it, my current life, my income after deducting daily expenses and partly to save for emergencies, the rest I invest. I just thought once my investment was profitable, I would have enough money to buy a house. I never thought about saving up to buy a house because I thought it would take a long time and was too far fetched to look forward to.
Yes, saving could take a long time but it’s actually the process of saving, you have to start it early the moment you are earning, and throughout the years of saving, you will eventually make a huge amount in your account. But I believe if you save for a certain goal, the more you will become motivated to save because your savings will have it’s certain direction. So regardless if you are wealthy or not, as long as you are capable to save your spare money, then better take some time for saving, and maybe you can invest a portion of your savings later on.
1130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2years of trading! on: April 01, 2023, 06:59:39 PM
In fact, I did not finish reading all the words, many here are skeptical about links that may include downloading things, so it is better to quote part of the text here.

The advice is good, but without practical training, it will not benefit the user, as the user will link the advice to its importance after it occurs, such as not leaving your money in a central platform, he will not understand its importance unless he actually feels that his money in that platform is in danger, and therefore setting examples will help a lot.
Reading some trading books will not be sufficient enough, as you need more trading training rather than focusing on reading different books related to trading. It’s still different to experience what is like to trade when you’re in a real trading scenario so you will be exposed about the reality of what is trading all about and how can you be profitable in it. And with your experienced losses, that will motivate you to learn and improve more your trading skills, and start maximizing from profiting.
1131  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: April 01, 2023, 06:37:50 PM
Right now I prefer less risk than big profit which will automatically become big risk, in investing of course we have to have a strategy, we can try big profits but with a small value, it's too risky to invest with large values especially when we don't know what the current trend is in front of the product we choose.

You can't gain big profits if you have only a small investment, meaning big risk; big profit is also a big investment. The greater the investment, the greater the risk. I know you are one of those people that are choosing less risk as you know you can earn profit on it but only small.  We do have our own preferences, but for me, if you can balance both, or, in the case of a bigger risk, minimize the risk, then it has a high chance that you'll earn big, which is why you need to learn first.

There’s no way you can expect for a bigger profit out from a small investment, but with a bigger risk comes with a bigger profit. However, if you are not still able to go on a big investment, then start with a minimal investment first and when you start seeing profits, then increase gradually the level of your investment until you achieve the maximum investment. Risks are always there, but you can always lessen the risk and increase your profits if you have sufficient knowledge and skills as an investor.
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you got rid of to accumulate Bitcoin on: April 01, 2023, 06:19:46 PM
Some people said that selling off your properties for any reason sake is bad unless its an emergency, well I say, selling some part of my land is an emergency for me to grab some more Bitcoin, I feel like 2023 is going to be an incredible year for Bitcoin investors, I could get some more lands in 2024 or when Bitcoin makes a new ATH, what do you guys think? A stupid decision or a brilliant one? How will you take this?

Also share me what you have sold this year to buy some Bitcoin, we will still be here in 2025 and I can't wait to share my incredible success story on the forum, Bitcoin loading, 100% acquired.

What are you doing to get yours? Let's talk
I would not say it’s a stupid decision because you have decided it to gain benefits and profits in the future. For most of us here who have properties that are also not in profits, it’s better to sell them than to keep paying the taxes for long. And it’s your own property so you have all the right what to do with it. But always know that investing in bitcoin comes with risks, as you might lose them all if you are not responsible enough. That’s why always invest with an amount that you can afford to lose as there’s no guarantee to keep in profits when you are in an investment.
1133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you tell me which one you will choose and why? on: April 01, 2023, 05:58:59 PM
When talking about the safest, of course I have to say the safest in my opinion is the bank that I have been using for a long time because apart from being able to see it with my own eyes, I have no fear of saving more fiat there...
Maybe you can see the building where your bank is, but you can't see your money because it's not there. You see the digits next to your name. Your money is lent out as credit to other people. In case of a bank run, your bank, my bank, and almost all others would be in big problems. Still the money is insured, and they follow stricter regulations from services like Binance that have a history of moving around different jurisdictions after getting the boot in multiple locations.
We should not be surprised about it as banks have its purpose to lend our money to other clients so that they can make profits from it. However, I would not chose any of them as both are centralized and have give us no privacy from storing our funds. But when asked where it’s safer to save fiat , I would say it’s banks as they remain reputable over the years, unlike Binance that it could be hack one of these days and lost all our coins we saved there. With what happened yo FTX, I don’t think centralized exchanges are still reliable enough.
1134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: April 01, 2023, 05:44:08 PM
Hi!

I have heard about Bitcoin back in 2017 but never got to learn regarding about it. I always thought that crypto was a fluke and that it would definitely not be a type of transaction until pandemic happens. So, as the title would suggest, is it too late to start investing on crypto? And if not, what would be the essentials to learn on working on it?

Thanks in advance!
Your reason to not learn Bitcoin is just pretty much the same just like the other people in here who recently curious to Bitcoin. There is no late when it comes to learning something and invest on Bitcoin, you may think the price is high but you'll think the same as the time goes so you'd likely to start now. Learn about stuff regarding Bitcoin so you are more curious about it and try to take it slow because it's so easy to get lost when you invest on Bitcoin.
Yes, you would only think the same years from now if you will not invest in bitcoin right now. So do the right thing and start learning the basics in bitcoin before you decide to invest in it. After all, there’s no actually late when it comes to any investment, but if you keep missing the opportunities, you will end up regretting in your whole life wishing you have listened to your instinct and not entertained those negativity about bitcoin.
1135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: March 31, 2023, 09:48:47 PM
If a trader knows exactly the real scenario in trading, he will always think that trading is never easy and that he should exert more effort to learn trading and develop working strategies that will make him profitable when trading. If he profited on his first trade, that’s good but it’s rare to see it’s happening as most newbies are inclined to more losses than gains. And when they lose, it just means that they need more trading knowledge and experience as it might open new opportunities to make their trades profitable.
1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 31, 2023, 08:52:46 PM
True, sometimes I am also very unwilling to exchange the Bitcoins I have into fiat, like what I did was wrong, but I have no other choice, because most of my assets are in the form of Bitcoins and whenever I really need money I will exchange them. But if I have stablecoins, I usually prefer to pay using stablecoins, and if I have extra money I will usually invest it back into Bitcoin.
This means that all of our major transactions are still reliant on fiat. We always think about the future value of Bitcoin which makes us uncomfortable spending it but instead, we use to convert it into fiat money which is just the same. We just realized that we are not yet ready for the said adoption because internally, we are not prepared. In reality, people had come to the crypto world not because they want to buy Bitcoin and use it for payment but rather because they come here solely for investment purposes.
Certainly, people need crypto so they can make it as an investment and when they start making profits, eventually they also use it to invest more and grow their expected profits. That’s why people crave for bitcoin, not because they want to have more funds when this bitcoin converted into fiat, but because they want to maximize their investment so that in the future when bitcoin price is at its peak, they will be able to enjoy the huge profits that bitcoin can give.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 31, 2023, 05:26:44 AM
TBH, it's good that I didn't bet on the Bolts in Game 3 because the odds are attractive, but this time, I'm thinking that the Bolts will force a Game 5 with a win in this game. This time, I might put a bet on the Bolts. Cheesy
While it's certainly possible, I don't believe there will be a Game 5 in this series. TNT has been dominant in the last two games and is determined to win. I'm not sure what kind of adjustments Meralco Bolts can make at this point. As long as TNT's import continues to produce his usual numbers, it will be challenging to stop them, especially with their strong outside shooting.
You'll never know as PBA are good at fixing games, I think the game between the SMB vs Ginebra was supposed to be fixed, unfortunately, Gray did not follow the script and he keeps shooting, there should be a game 4 like this one, but Ginebra are just too good that they cannot hide their talents.
Forget about it, it's nothing new to those of us who consistently gamble on PBA games. We can't complain because we are well aware of the risks, and our focus should be on ensuring that we bet on the right side.

Regarding this game, I believe that TNT with the spread is the right side to bet on. Otherwise, the spread wouldn't be so high, especially considering that Meralco is in a do-or-die situation. Additionally, I think this will be a low-scoring game, as Meralco has been struggling with their shooting.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: March 31, 2023, 04:55:52 AM
That Akaho fight is very disappointed for us and for Casimero, I mean if Akaho decided to continue to fight then we will see Casimero's beast unleashed again and maybe he will really win by knockout. But Akaho robbed us when he quit and although the ruling has overturn, it leave a bad taste for us fans.

I don't understand how that fight leaves a bad taste in you where in fact Casimero turned Akaho into a punching bag that day. Aside from that, it was a KO win by Casimero after the review. That fight is not a disappointment as that win made him ranked 8 by the WBO.

Moving forward, in this fight, the same approach as what he did to Akaho should be shown by Casimero or much better in order for him to be recognized as one of the best contenders for the title. If everything goes smoothly, we will see Casimero again in a title match.

Perhaps he was disappointed with Akaho's actions, as instead of defeating the best warrior, Akaho acted as the best actor. This resulted in Casimero not being declared the winner of the fight. Cheating has no place in the sport of boxing, which is meant for strong competitors. Cheaters tarnish the reputation of the sport.

However, it's time to move on and focus on the upcoming fight. Hopefully, Nghitumbwa won't take any tips from Akaho.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most likely category of people to become Gambling addicts. on: March 30, 2023, 10:00:59 PM
In summary, just don't introduce it to anyone that you know that are not capable of controlling their emotions because you'll never know on up to what point they can control themselves.

Because the time might even come that you'll be the one to be blamed by those people whom you've introduced gambling. That's not a new story and there have been cases like that they were blamed and made it looked bad because they've just introduced those addicted gamblers to gambling.

Avoid being the trigger of others that may fall into gambling addiction if you don't want to get involved and be blamed for.
Be responsible enough not to attract people in gambling particularly for those who may think that gambling can be a good source of living. If they do, they will always want to try their luck gambling most of the time and end up losing all their funds. And for people who may gamble just for fun, don’t be too confident that they won’t develop addiction in the long run. Gambling is very addictive, if you’re not good at resisting and controlling your urge, you will always fall for gambling addiction even if you will keep on saying that you only gamble for fun.
1140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it best to have a personal trading strategy? on: March 30, 2023, 09:45:48 PM
I'm seeking to know if having a personal trading strategy has been able to enhance your trading profitablity and if you really keep to a particular strategy that worked for you even when it seems it's failing you later on and for how long do you stick to this strategy?
If you do not have a trading strategy, how would you then make profit consistently? Every successful trader have strategies they are using. But you have to make sure that your strategies are working for you. If not working and see trading not easy, better to move to holding. But all successful traders have trading strategies which are helping them to make profit.
Trading needs particular strategy to make it work and successful. That is why a good trader should have its own personal trading strategy that works and suits to the market condition. Otherwise, he will have a hard time profiting from trading and stay sustainable in the market for long. However, in times you see your strategy is not working anymore, then start upgrading it and then retest it again and see if it’s still working. If not, better to develop a new one that suits the market condition well.
