1201  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ALERT] BEWARE ABOUT PHISHING SITES on: July 16, 2023, 11:36:01 AM
Recently Arkham make a tweet about Pishing sites because they do a Airdrop to early users who join whitelist and their token is also listing on Binance Exchange in future.
With the so many phishing sites opened because of this project, it won't be wrong to conclude that it's a great project. So many scammers want to lash in on its utility and public demand for it to hoodwink investors. It's good that someone is vigilant enough to have pointed all that phishers (and many more) out. This is the simple reason people should ask for official links from those recommending projects to them and not just go to search engines to get them but themselves.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 15, 2023, 03:12:25 PM
What people are doing is to look for victims of what they (the scammers ) are not professional at and use it to scam their victims.
What the so called owners of the signal groups do is fund their lifestyle with the subscription money they get from the unsuspecting public who want to learn from them. However, it's not that profitable traders don't charge money at all but they won't always be on social media day in, day out pushing for people to come to them Ike these charlatans we're talking about do. The real profitable traders do it once in a while to teach. That's actually for the few of them who want to.

It's human nature to not value what one gets for free. So, in most cases, to get learners committed it's good to charge them money. As for trades, most pro traders rather allow others mirror them for a fee instead of writing out signals. Doing that is a distraction from the little I know about teaching and trading.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Procrastination, Buy Bitcoin And Prepare For The Next Halving. on: July 15, 2023, 12:50:37 PM
Most people who cannot make up their mind on when to buy Bitcoin are simply suffering under the delusion that somehow, sometime, Bitcoin will drop to a few dollars and then go up to 1 million USD. They are waiting to make that "golden purchase".
Definitely, such people who can't make up their minds when to buy will be left behind. I dare say that anyone who has this type of mindset isn't an investor but an opportunist who is waiting for the slightest sight of bull to cash out. That's if they eventually buy in. If anyone with such a mindset is reading this thread now, my suggestion to them is to go on DCA – Dollar Cost Averaging. With that, they get to buy in bits each time there's a slight dip in price instead of waiting for an illusive perfect entry that may not ever happen.
1204  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $120k next year - by Robert Kiyosaki on: July 15, 2023, 10:22:46 AM
~snipped~
I believe that bitcoin is capable of rising in the next 2 years, to very interesting values and even breaking its record. But I think it will be around $80k.
I don't know how you arrived at your price of $80k but what I do know is that the next ATH of Bitcoin will be more than that. In fact, I'm of the same opinion with user skarais on that. What informed my prediction is that every Bitcoin new ATH has always done more than double the previous ATH. I'm drawing experience from the ones of 2017 (when I joined this industry) and 2021. In 2017, Bitcoin ATH was slightly less than $19k. In 2021, it got close to $69k. Your projection of $80k is just slightly $11k up of the last bull run result. It's not even anywhere close to 1½ of it let alone double. Double of $69k should give us $138k. To be on the safe side, we should be expecting something between $120k – $150k at least.

Of course, this market is quite unpredictable, and nobody can say with certainty what will happen, but we have our guesses. And it's a bit on that basis, that we look at bitcoin and the market, based on the analyzes we do and what we think will happen.
True, the market is unpredictable but estimations and speculations can still be made.
1205  Economy / Economics / Re: The new U.S.-China agreement is a "forced friendship. What awaits the world ? on: July 15, 2023, 04:45:11 AM
I think China took Blinken's current visit as a sign of US weakness, which it actually is. The United States realized that it was not possible to frighten China with large-scale exercises and that the American military-industrial complex could not pull a proxy war on two fronts. You have to bend and flirt, but without much success - Blinken was received much worse in China than Bill Gates.
It has always been obvious that China is greater than the US in might. It's just that the Chinese aren't loud mouthed like the Americans who live in denial. Recent world developments and happenings have really exposed the US and revealed that she's not as powerful as she claims.

A few years before Barack Obama became the president of the US, I read one of his books: perhaps, The Audacity of Hope, or so where Obama in his flowery language exposed the helplessness of the American government when paired with China in terms of human capital development, population and a few other things. That book was an eye opener for me into the American politics and economy to a great extent.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the altcoin holders hang on until the bull run comes ? on: July 14, 2023, 06:54:15 PM
...I bought a lot at the price of $0.099 and afterwards it started to dump like hell. If I continue to hold Dogecoins, the price might be dumping even lower but if I sell them now, the losses become concrete and I'll never have a chance to win back.
A few months before Dogecoin did its ATH @$0.7+, there was a bet or so by some group of guys to pump it to $1. I want to believe that bet or pursuit is still active and there are some investors who still have that mindset that it will get to $1. That wasn't even a big feat to achieve going by the way it spiked to wipe off double zeroes. I believe Dogecoin will still zoom past its ATH when the market gets into this oncoming bull rally proper. Well, even if it doesn't get to a new ATH I still believe your entry point at $0.09 isn't that far from Doge's current price @ $0.07. It's less than three cent from it. So, I advise that you stick around and don't sell off. Greater things on the way a few months from now.
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Ripple Effect on: July 14, 2023, 03:49:17 PM
Sincerely, I am optimistic that the rulling on XRP will give a direction to those cases and in the end, crypto will win.
I'm optimistic too and I believe the courts will draw their strength from the XRP judgment to situate whatever case levelled against Binance. I think the excitement in the market since the verdict that exonerated XRP yesterday isn't for XRP alone but for Binance and other impending issues regarding whether those coins are securities or not. Precedence favouring cryptos has been set and that's the excitement we see in the market. For the first time in a long while an altcoin news also spiked Bitcoin. It's a good one.
1208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for bounties and airdrops as we near bull season on: July 14, 2023, 02:40:37 PM
One thing with many of these airdrops is that you need to becareful and verify the source. In many of these airdrops and projects you are required to download custom software to test out the project, which is very risky.

Not only that but many require you to link your wallet and might even require you to allow max spending of tokens. And if it’s a scam or phishing website you will end up losing all your crypto this way.

So always verify the airdrop to make sure it legit.
You're right. I guess www.who.is has been a veritable source to check for those phishers and sometimes YouTube too. Both have saved me the ache of getting scammed or wasting my time. What I think is the right approach is for the seekers to be patient enough to query what has been branded before them. Yes, I know that YouTube doesn't always have the complete information one seeks but it's better having something to hold onto than going into an investment blindly. Always verify. Sadly, most person don't wait to verify. All they want is to speedily dive in and grab the opportunity as if the supposed goodies can't wait any minute longer.

1214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more ETH..... on: July 11, 2023, 06:27:00 PM
~
Etheruem has really been under estimated or under priced given that it has coins under its blockchain which is suppose to be a boost in price for it.
You're right. I think so too. Looking at what ETH has been able to do for this industry, not minding whatever criticism that's bedeviling it, it's obvious that it's not really appreciated. Like you rightly observed, the ETH smart contract has done more for this industry in terms of aiding new projects to launch on its blockchain, than any other project. This has helped broaden the industry with more tokens in the market. I won't be surprised if ETH goes above $10k this coming rally. It's truly deserving of it.
1215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A portion of my clothing store's weekly profit is invested in Bitcoin on: July 11, 2023, 05:14:48 PM
Like they day in this forum, it's better to invest what you can afford to loose.
Yes, that should be the mindset of every investor. It cuts across, not just on Bitcoin. It's pertinent for you to nurture this mindset and grow with it in business because nothing should be taken as certitude and infallible, especially in the crypto industry which is highly speculative and full of surprises. It can make or mar anyone. Any cash that can be sorely missed shouldn't be put in cryptos. It's that simple an advice. Keep believing it.
1216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 11, 2023, 04:50:48 PM
So having made all this comparisons, do you think that bitcoin can be classified as gambling?
Your confusion around the subject matter is expected, coming from an inexperienced background of what online trading is. Bitcoin trading is like Forex trading where exchange of one item for another is made. It's a clear cut from gambling. A gambler only hopes to get to their dream with just cash staked to catch fortune overnight. Again, the average disposition of a gambler is that of recklessness and wildlife with smoking, womanizing, clubbing and all that. In Nigeria such are seen as acts of irresponsibility.

Quote
From my observation, people don't have much regards for gamblers, they either see them as lazy people who don't like to work, or people who want to take shortcut to get rich.
Well, you can also add the desperation part to the mindset of gamblers. I think that's even what scares people more. Anyone who's desperate can "do and undo" like we say in my local parlance. Maybe I judge this too harshly and that can simply be because of the way gamblers behave on the average.
1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: look, look, what's this on: July 11, 2023, 01:59:23 PM
~snipped~.
The encryption algorithm has been updated. I also saw it from reddit. It seems that it will be launched soon!
People should be very careful putting their hard earned money on projects like that with seemingly unrealistic blueprint. We often see all sorts of projects spring up during bull rally like we're witnessing now, going forward into 2024 because of Bitcoin halving. Most of these projects are only good on papers without any real usecase in real world. I got decieved by similar idealistic but not realistic projects in my noob days. They promised all manners of eldorado they couldn't match up to and that was how investors funds went down the drain.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoins on: July 11, 2023, 12:59:09 PM
Only if all those lost bitcoins are made available for sale on exchanges, then they can effect the price.
Even if the supposed lost Bitcoin is made available for sale on exchanges, there's likely not going to be any effect except all of it is placed on sale at the same time and that will be on a large scale. I know we're dealing with a hypothetical situation here but you and I know that these lost coins will never be recovered, never. I'm one of those who believe vehemently that there's no coin, especially Bitcoin, whose maximum supply will be same as circulating supply. There's bound to be loss due to death and the inability of the deceased to pass it on will always be there. Loss occasioned by carelessness will also be there. Remember how careless and nonchalant most early adopters were about Bitcoin because of lack of faith in the project and so not many of them carefully kept their PKeys or passwords.
1219  Other / Meta / Re: Reserved Posts that didn't Used on: July 11, 2023, 11:38:05 AM
Bounty and signature campaign managers also do that and that would be to create enough space for themselves to make further announcements if there were any in future. I think that was where the "reserved" thing started from. It then got hightened during the "first come, first serve" era of picking hunters for campaigns in 2017/2018. Then managers would just pick participants based on FCFS basis and not merit. Even when the merit thing came up, once applicants were able to meet the merit requirement they were picked based on who applied first.

Now, selection isn't that way any more. How things changed. Really, it's no big deal. Obviously, those who posted reserved and not delete it after 24hrs must've forgotten they did and that's why it's still there. It's no big deal. The mods should be able to pick such up.
1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thoughts and attitude towards Bitcoin. on: July 11, 2023, 10:37:02 AM
When investing in something there is always risk involved. I think risk is the possibility of gaining or losing something valuable.
With just that one you got the right mindset going into this industry. So many people believe it's all rosy once they invest as if Bitcoin is immune to losses. No, it's not. The only thing is that its losses are highly minimized if one makes the investment on a long term. In fact, since its creation Bitcoin has been on an upward move till date. Finding a comfortable entry point and buying is the key thing going into Bitcoin investment. I must say you picked a nice entry on the hindsight at below $18k. You're in profit now but will be in greater profit if you wait till after halving in 2024.
