1281  Economy / Economics / Re: Does "our" world here still exist? on: June 26, 2023, 08:33:20 PM
I feel very.... confused. Does this makes sense to some of you?
Yeah, it does make sense to me. That's why, jocularly, they say written English is different from spoken English 🤡

Back to the discourse, without sounding offish, it's a common knowledge that idealism doesn't equate realism. That's the same situation you witnessed with your involvement in politics. Those with good intentions for the masses don't often do well in politics as their idealism is quickly destabilised by the reality on ground. Most often their ideals don't match the reality. One wonders if there's a secret cult where government officials are forced to enter a convenant not to do what they promise to do during their campaigns. In your own case, I saw a genuine attempt to help your people but you got overshadowed by the anti-populist tendencies of other politicians.

All the same, welcome back. Their loss is Bitcoin's gain.
1282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help and encourage newbies to grow. on: June 26, 2023, 07:19:56 PM
When i came into the forum I found It a little difficult finding my way around and could barely relate or reply to some posts but I took it upon myself to learn the ethics and norms of forum and know what it's all about.
You did well by trying to learn by yourself instead of asking questions which already had been answered a few steps away. It's called self help or DIY – Do It Yourself. Most newbies are often in a hurry to rank up that they forget the way up is down; paradoxically. Looking down and reading/researching is the key to learning.

Quote
The ideology of this post is to motivate newbies that find it difficult moving forward, cause I believe the're people that fall under such Category, feel free to drop some words of encouragement for them.
These newbies you speak of should also encourage themselves by aligning with whatever good this forum stands for instead of finding ways to beat the system. They should also desist from littering their post history with bounty reports. Those who have most of their posts in bounties hardly earn merit. That's the simple truth. There's no motivation that can work for such people.
1283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which campaign is better? Bounty campaign or Signature campaign? on: June 26, 2023, 04:25:26 PM
I think it depends on what the prospects you've for the project are. I know there are shrewd investors who lurk on this forum for projects to invest in. Such investors are going to take projects that run their adverts here more serious than projects they stumble on Twitter, IG, Facebook or even Telegram. In the past, many people picked projects they invested in from Twitter & co until they started realising most of those projects were scam. I think that sort of scared so many off investing in things they see on those social media. However, if you ever choose to make it strictly a bounty campaign; make sure to make the payment in stable coin on a weekly and not stake based. That way you will get handles that are very much active with great stats for engagement, not just accounts that will post without others viewing and reading what they've posted.
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's imagine you were the president of your country, How would your Economic on: June 26, 2023, 03:54:59 PM
The reason why I bought this topic is because of the matter arising today in the economic system, I no maybe this topic may sound like shit or may never come to pass, but let's keep that aside the way cost prices are now in some countries is like hell, so I am still asking if you were the president for a year in your country, how would you treat your country economic growth what will be your plans as the supervisor over the country and how would your economic budget look like.
The reason why I bought this topic is sometimes we merely talk about the future economic systems maybe we could just outline some key points on how you would rule your country in the future of the ecosystem.
Note this!!!!
Sometimes dreams do come to pass☑️
By "bought this topic" I guess you meant – brought. I saw it run through your comment twice.

To the issue at stake, if I became the president of my country; I would handle the economy differently from what the political leadership in my country is doing. Imagine a government announcing to the country on the day of its inauguration that fuel subsidy was gone without putting any measure in place to cushion the ripple effects that thoughtless announcement would cause. Fuel price did more than 50% that same day the announcement was made and that has remained so till date with slight price variation. For me, first thing first would be to ensure there's good transportation network and then also upgrade workers' salaries.

The second thing would be to eliminate higher denominations of the country's currency. Retain the lower ones as that will ensure physical cash transit will be reduced to the bearest. This invariably will also discourage bribery. Those who are fond of taking cash to bribe others so they can't be traced will become scared of trying such as bank transfers can be easily traced unlike physical cash taken to someone. This will also discourage kidnapp cases. Kidnappers demand physical cash so they can't be traced. If the ransom is in millions, taking lower denominations to them will make the exercise bulky and can easily draw more attention. They won't want that.
1285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: BestChange retrodrop [Claim memorable NFTs] on: June 26, 2023, 12:05:39 PM
~
maybe you often associates your wallet swapping tokens or connecting ur wallet to a DEX.
Yes, of course. That should be what happened as it's a Trust Wallet I've been using for merchandise since way back 2021. I ain't surprised getting those NFTs, anyway. However, I haven't made any attempt to harvest any of them as I don't want to open up any malware or be directed to click on links. There must be something lurking in those supposed NFTs sent unsolicitedly, I'm cocksure of that.
1286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I Recover my loss of crypto on this platform? on: June 26, 2023, 07:41:10 AM
Hay, I am New here and know about Bitcoin for the last few years but I lost many times in crypto trading. So my question is that how to trade Securely and profitably? And what are the rules and regulations for me that must follow this platform recommended some close ones will say you will learn from this platform so much and I hope to recover from the loss and get a lot of benefits and knowledge gain that is why I am very excited to hear.
To start with if anyone sends you a PM here or anywhere else, that they can help you trade or recover your losses; it's more likely they're scammers. Avoid such people. Those who are likely to help you on your quest are going to drop whatever comment or advice they've for you in the open.

That being said, now to this part of your post "...how to trade Securely and profitably?" You've to know that success in trading isn't a chance something. It comes with years of hardwork. Yes, it takes years of work. Anyone who thinks they can succeed at trading after a few weeks of work on it is only counting on luck. Such luck doesn't last before it throws them into gargantuan losses. Again for whatsoever you do, don't aim to take revenge n the market to regain all you've lost. It's a gradual process of winnings before that will happen. If you rush to take revenge, the market will most certainly discipline you again and again. Go to YouTube and watch those trading and how they're doing it.
1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: BestChange retrodrop [Claim memorable NFTs] on: June 26, 2023, 05:51:21 AM
Hehe..
Who know the value of it and i don't have this feeling it would worth huge amount.
1BTC is something we can't imagine to have worth for NFT's.
I know the flow price is 61 Matic but I ain't sure anyone among us has even sold any. I saw someone quote 10 ETH for it. No one knows what an NFT is worth until a buyer deems it attractive to negotiate its price. Perhaps, like cryptoaddictchie said I might consider his 1BTC target and then prayerfully hope a CR7 or Messi status will develop interest in mine. 1BTC won't be anything serious for them not to avoid 🤔.

On the whole, I like to thank BestChange for this novelty idea. This is the first genuine NFT I'm hodling apart from those ones sent to my wallet unsolicitedly.
1288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have been gone for a while on: June 25, 2023, 04:54:32 PM
Well, nothing of much significance has changed or been implemented from 2020 till date except the "OP" tag you see on every thread starter. It was even a fresh member who programmed that with permission from theymos. Going forward, I'm still at a loss as to why you created this thread telling us you had been here before now. I would've expected that you just post away without reliving the past since it's something you've lost hold of. I can be wrong and not know exactly what's going on or is there a catch to starting this thread?
1289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does ranking not guarantee post quality? on: June 25, 2023, 03:13:31 PM
It's been a great day, I've read enough threads. I saw quite a lot of senior/hero/legendary rank discussions, but if I'm honest, I found a lot of comments that have no value, they just write nonsense. Maybe I did too

I realize that the quality of a post is based on the knowledge of the account owner. But stupid people are still needed to continue the discussion, if everyone is smart then there will be no more discussion. So both are needed.
You're right on your observation. You should know that ranks don't determine anyone's level of intelligence, neither does the number of merits gathered over a space of 120 days which is demanded by most campaign managers as a part of entry qualifications mean quality. I've seen those without much merit but who have nice posts and contributions, the same way I've run into a couple of great newbies who knew what they were saying. Like I continue to maintain that meriting posts is a subjective thing, it doesn't necessarily mean such posts are exceptional. Only the person meriting them knows why they're doing so. It lies on individual's discretion.

Yeah, if everyone were smart and on the same page there won't be dissenting opinions and it will be boring. Just like society won't be wholesome if everyone were rich or poor. Both have to exist side by side.
1290  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 24, 2023, 04:59:08 PM
What roles does the poor play in the Economy? Answer – They run errand for the rich 😆.

On a serious note, the ecosystem isn't complete without the poor just the same way it isn't without the rich. Every society MUST have these two to be whole. The poor have always existed from time immemorial. They may be poor but there's something I've noticed with that class of people and that's their ability to spend more on food items than the rich. They say the poor pay more for stuff and that's true. Just look at this quick instance, a rich man buys whatever he needs in bulk and at discount but a poor man buys in bits and that expectedly tends to make it costlier than picking it up at once. Food stuff are typical examples of this.
1291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be a trap? on: June 24, 2023, 02:46:48 PM
is there any good analyst to give accurate results on what would happen next or to know if this is a bear trap.
No one can ACCURATELY tell you what's going to happen next in the market. Whatever anyone says is based on speculation. This industry is speculative in nature and all its activities are so based. However, that's not to say that projections made aren't going to be true. It could go past the prices or not get there. One thing that's certain to happen is that price will be on the upward trajectory because of the expected Bitcoin halving in 2024. We've seen price rally into bull every pre–halving year, and then post–halving year. I don't think there will be any exception this year and next year too. On a side note, last week on social media I saw a $10,000 price projection for ETH in the next bull run made by one crypto analyst.
1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin is not do or die on: June 24, 2023, 10:20:16 AM
Learning of bitcoin should be based on interest and not by force. If you try to teach someone about bitcoin and that person is not showing any interest, it is better that you forget about it,and try to talk to someone else who will be interested on it. Remember, no matter the effort that you put in,to teach someone who is skeptical to accept new ideas or that person feels that he is a professor or knows more than you in other aspect of life,or if he is even richer than you, will end up being a wasted effort.
What you said there is nothing short of the truth. I was a victim of such in my zealousness as I had gone on evangelizing Bitcoin to those around me as soon as I knew of Bitcoin and the potential it has. Almost all those I talked to about it were unmoved. Fast-forward to date, their perception has changed as most of them now see a need to embrace it. No one should coerce anyone into anything, Bitcoin investment included.

The challenge I always have is to convince people not to invest in bitcoin. After all bitcoin is not an investment and it is not meant to give you profit. It is a currency and if you want to introduce it to someone you should introduce it as a currency too.
Well, I don't think Bitcoin would've gained the type of attention it has now if everyone talked about it in the light of a currency which was what Satoshi had in mind (or what he told us) creating it. How do you explain something that was around $700 (at the time I heard of it) in 2016 but nearly did a multiple of 100 in 2021 if it isn't an investment? I'm talking of what's obtainable on ground and not a conceptual idealism.
1293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is next for Bitcoin? Seems like the only winners are early adopters unless on: June 23, 2023, 03:33:27 PM
I want to invest good capital but dont understand why I would do this on something made out of thin air. Sometimes seems like its a lot of fanboys just wanting it to go up and up so they can then sell to retail
You've been here since 2020, yet you're asking questions like a freshman. You first heard of Bitcoin when it was around $110, you saw all the bad press it went (it's still going through), you saw its last bull and bear seasons, yet you're still not sure if it's legit? Even at its current price at $30,000? You must be kidding, right? The same way you think the greatest winners in this Bitcoin thing are only the early adopters, it's the same way you will watch on the sidelines and others who are buying today will profit from it. Stop wasting your precious time in fear and invest now. Otherwise, a few years from now you will also rue not taking that bold step now.
1294  Economy / Economics / Re: Look for what to invest, not what to eat on: June 23, 2023, 11:11:29 AM
I don't know why some people in this platform are looking for what to eat at the moment, not know that they can invest in a potential projects that will put food on their table, and they will not lack what to eat and what to spend in future.
It doesn't work that way. One has to eat (feed) first before investing. If one keeps saving up for investment and neglect eating, the repercussions are there and will reflect on one's health. Stomach Ulcer is often around the corner for those who do such. What will be the benefit of such investment if one doesn't have good health to reap what one is sowing? Feeding (food) is one of the primary needs of man but investment isn't. There's a reason for that classification. Only a man who is alive knows he has an investment somewhere. The ideal thing is to balance one's earnings between feeding, investment and miscellaneous. However, in all of that, feeding comes first.
1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: June 23, 2023, 09:54:37 AM
Are they ashame to be a bitcoiners? or they are among the people that think Bitcoin is a scam?
Why Bitcoin users are afraid of see each other physical?
Nope, it's nothing of the first two questions there but it could fall into the third question. I used the would could because it can either of these two issues I will list.

The first is the way privacy is sermonized a lot when it comes to Bitcoin. It used to astound me when I started why those who were engaged in Bitcoin couldn't create time to meet and greet others within their vicinity apart from those they brought here or those who introduced them to this forum.

The second reason could be that most Bitcoiners are used to doing things online, their transactions and all that and will more likely feel it will be a waste of time meeting offline since they can easily achieve the same dialogue/conversations online. For instance, I find it very convenient doing my stuff from any space I find myself. I just get on my device and peruse straight away. I could even be on transit and still get something done. I believe it's same for many here.
1296  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Invest small money and get big money avoid them. on: June 23, 2023, 08:39:38 AM
Greetings my fellow Naija people.

I don't know why some people are still falling into the traps of those people that will call you for phone or meet you one on one and introduce fake decentralized investment, that if you invest #100,000 you will get #200,000 within a week.
Na pure greed dey cause am, nothing else. Nor be juju, at all. As long as people continue to get greedy, scammers will continue to thrive. A few years ago, somebody tell me sey she go like make I invest for her if the investment go fit return profit of 50% withing two weeks as I dey try talk her to buy Bitcoin and hodl. I tell am sey it was not doable, 50% was not achievable. She shockingly told me sey na dat type of investment she dey find. As for d advice wey you give your friend, na d right thing you do.
1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 20, 2023, 09:46:02 PM
While what you said is true, let's not forget that there are newbies who have impacted themselves with the knowledge of crypto before joining the forum. They only appear as a newbie in the forum not as a newbie in the crypto knowledge and exposure.

Some newbies have already gotten crypto knowledge elsewhere(social media platforms or the internet) before advancing to the stage they were to be advising other people on what to do or what to do in the crypto space. I have some crypto influencers I have been following off this forum, for quite some time, if you hear them speak or lecture you about crypto, you will marvel at where they got all the knowledge of crypto from. Such types of people can find their way through a friend that will introduce them to this forum by letting them know how the btt forum is(sharing information and lecturing people about crypto) and they might decide to join the forum to dish out their advice to the forum members in a way they can through their few posts.

Having said that, every one of us is free to dish out advice about bitcoin in a manner we can. Whether a newbie or not. We are all here to learn from one another. Being a newbie is for btt accounts not mainly on the amount of crypto knowledge to be judged with
You've salient points there. We do have users like that who already are knowledgeable in Bitcoin coming in here. However, what I don't find funny about such users is their haste to open topics and teach like there's something at stake if they don't teach. Ordinarily, one would expect a certain level of restraint from such newbies so they can observe how things are run here before displaying whatever knowledge they think they've acquired. It's even worse when such users unwittingly display their lack of indepth knowledge on the said issue they purport to teach. I think newbies shouldn't be in a haste to prove anything if they're truly genuine newbies.
1298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 20, 2023, 06:53:51 PM
What is your thought.
This "trading is gambling and gambling is the same thing as trading" kind of arguments often emanate from hardcore gamblers who seek justification for their losses as a way to get even with those who try to discourage their gambling habit. You're right about the difference in both – putting in the works in trading while gambling relies on luck. We know that in both (gambling and trading) losses and profits are made but we should also note that while one sells a product (trading), the other only sells an emotion/expectation (gambling).
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best career for women on: June 20, 2023, 05:49:27 PM
In today's society we see many working women leave their children with the workers and go to office, those children are abused by the workers.
The tonality in your comment that "those children are abused by the workers" is misleading as it tilts towards fallacy of hasty generalization. You should create space for exception because not every maid is evil.

On the topic, I think you got what Bitcoin does slightly skewed. It's never a career but it provides career opportunities the same way every inventions do for those utilizing it. Without being sexist, career in whatever Bitcoin offers is not gender based. It's for everyone.

It's a neutral asset that doesn't give a crap who you are.
I like your choice of word there – an asset, more than a currency; it's.
1300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Asset Or Currency? on: June 20, 2023, 05:15:45 PM
In your opinion, bitcoin is an asset or a currency?
To the best of my perspicacity, Bitcoin is more of asset than currency. If not, how else does one get such advice to hodl it rather than use it? It's a simple logic for those who like to act like it's currency to unravel. Fine, perhaps what Satoshi had in mind while creating it was as currency but what the globe is making out of it is asset. Check the early prices of Bitcoin and what it's today, and so many of us are still speculating that it will even do more than a double of its current ATH after halving next year. Tell, if it's not as asset in such manner; what other explanation best fits it?
