1581  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Old accounts still able to withdraw more on binance or just error of display? on: September 16, 2021, 11:06:28 PM
If you're wondering why your unverified account limit still hasn't changed to .06BTC, same situation. I asked binance about this weeks ago cause it's way passed Aug 23, below was their response

Fast forward to today and I still have 2BTC daily withdrawal limit. But I've only tried withdrawing small amounts there ever since the "KYC for all" announcement, anymore and I wouldn't feel safe.

From their response, this whole situation looks more of a mistake on their end, I wouldn't think my account is exempted from anything.

thanks..

Looks like it has only been a day old. I'd give it more time. It will probably be manually credited to you hence why it wouldn't be that fast. Nevertheless, you should contact support ASAP to get reassured and maybe give a heads up to them as well.

P.S. after almost half a year, it's nice to see some progress on your case OP  Cheesy
1583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you already noticed about the changing of identity verification of Binance ? on: September 15, 2021, 07:44:53 PM
That means the restriction will come from 19th oct and after that they will limit the account to use only some selected services? Such as withdraw, and order cancelation. Ok, Got it. I though it was applied since the article published. Smiley

Not exactly from Oct 19th. According from them, they will roll it out in phases from the day they published the said article thru Oct 19, 2021 (UTC) which means they will do a batch of people each time within that time frame and your account is most probably in line for it.

Existing users who have not yet completed Intermediate Verification will have their account permissions temporarily changed to “Withdraw Only”, with services limited to withdrawal, order cancellation, position close, and redemption. This will be carried out in phases to minimise user-experience disruption, from now through 2021-10-19 00:00 AM (UTC). Existing users will be informed directly with more details.

Like OmegaStarScream, you should receive an email before your account gets restricted but this is supposing no errors are made like delays, binance skipping you, etc...

I received an email yesterday asking me to verify my identity to receive a 10 USDT Cashback and if I don't before the 20th of this month, I won't be able to use my account for anything but withdrawals. Just bringing this to everyone's attention, in case you had plans to do some more trades there.

Quote
Please complete the verification process by 20-9-2021 11:59 PM (UTC), or your Binance account will be restricted to withdrawals only.
1584  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Frustration with third party KYC services in crypto platforms on: September 14, 2021, 10:58:03 PM
I can only suggest you leave the exchanges that you feel are hard to pass the KYC verification and not try to repeat the process if you are tired of getting rejected by them. We, as crypto users, have free to register on any exchange that we want and submit the document that they want but we do not have to try to use that exchange if they are difficulting the process.

It's a waste to not use an exchange if OP has already handed out their KYC info to them (unless there are other alarming reasons to stay away). Best to exhaust every option there is first, otherwise they'd be increasing their risk to identity theft and data misuse by jumping from one exchange to another every time it gets 'hard to pass'.
1585  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Frustration with third party KYC services in crypto platforms on: September 13, 2021, 10:07:54 PM
Some exchanges allows you to opt for a manual review if you can't get thru using their software, try to reach out with their support. But brace yourself cause anything manual for most CEXs would take time, not to mention replies from support are already slow.

When will my identity be verified?

The personal information and identification documents you submit are reviewed by identity verification software as well as our support agents.

If your submission is clear and consistent, your identity verification should typically take between 5 minutes to 2 hours. If, for some reason, your submission can’t be automatically verified, it will be manually reviewed. This process may take approximately 5 business days. Unfortunately, we are unable to fast track manual reviews.

If you're still unable to successfully verify your identity after several attempts, please contact Coinbase Support to initiate a manual review.
1586  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 20 BTC stuck with BASEFEX.COM [POTENTIAL SCAM - WARNING - BEWARE] on: September 10, 2021, 11:05:43 PM
but I still need to find a way how to tell him that I destroyed my trezor in anger about this whole thing. then I got drunk with friends and my best friend had the genius idea to let go and burn the seed of my trading wallet, so one day I would not have to worry about taxes and whatnot. this was a stupid idea, he's stupid, and we were drunk... we ceremoniously burnt the seed to my wallet. I can see the funds in my account but I can't spend them anymore...

Two words. Jesus Christ....

It is why at least 2 backups in diff places is the recommended although it would still be useless if you won't be able to control yourself/if someone meddled  Cheesy

something moved along, suddenly the withdrawal shows as "processed" - I can not say it's a scam anymore, the funds arrived, late but they arrived, I'll let this here for others to see there was a disruption with my experience, my brother was ecstatic

Seeing how they haven't gotten back to you after a month of waiting + the no updates on crucial times, it's still an exchange to stay away from, indeed keep the warnings. Also doesn't help that they are an offshore business in Seychelles.
1587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My hardware store now accepts Bitcoin! on: September 10, 2021, 12:04:16 AM
Grats OP  Cheesy

For additional exposure, I suggest listing your shop in online directories of bitcoin accepting merchants

and maybe add a link to bitcoin.org in your "bitcoin accepted" signage/website for those who have no idea what it is and wanna learn more.
1588  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone else have problems with Bit 49? on: September 09, 2021, 08:35:40 PM
TIP: open a scam accusation thread about them using the proper format, see: Scam Report Format and let them know about it. BIT49 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2681879) used to post in threads about them which makes me think there's a fair chance they care about their presence here.
1589  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Map on: September 08, 2021, 10:22:14 PM
There's also cryptwerk (https://cryptwerk.com/pay-with/btc/). They have a map and lists a wide variety of merchants. From brick 'n mortars, ATMs and online shops/services. There is no app but it is mobile friendly.
1590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your thoughts On the crypto trading simulator? on: September 07, 2021, 10:49:47 PM
Hold up. are you sure you were on the right website? (https://cryptoparrot.com/) cause I don't see them claiming they guarantee profits.
1591  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What's the best way to secure your Binance wallet? on: September 07, 2021, 07:09:54 AM
2FA I feel is not secure because if someone gets ahold of my phone, then that's not good. And if I lose my phone number, again not good.

What would be the most secure way where my phone or phone number being compromised would not result in my wallet being compromised?

If you're using SMS 2fa, it's time to stop. It's insecure. Easier to intercept, large amount of ppl have been a victim of sim swapping and someone around you can easily take it out of your phone.

There are different types of malware to fall into and it's possible hackers may have already gotten everything they need before you could do anything. I suggest focusing on preventing falling into malwares/scams first OP, it is better than cure Cheesy

Security a lot of times is interconnected. You have to take care of everything that could be a weakness like your devices, email, browsing habits, how you keep safe sensitive information, what you download, etc.. Try to improve your overall cybersecurity, see: personal-security-checklist but only take it as a reference, don't go blind on anything. Make sure you fully know what you're about to do cause some are not beginner friendly and might backfire if done wrong.

1593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: any bot , app , handle , does do? on: September 04, 2021, 06:25:56 PM
In case you can't find anything does those "100 binance future coins" automatically, a last resort would be to manually add the coins in anything that allows custom feed and maintain the list yourself.

like:

1.https://cryptopanic.com/ - a news aggregator that allows you to follow coins you like and filter your feed in a way that only those you're following will show up. You can also disable sources but the problem is there's no easy way to do it in bulk and they have A LOT.

2. https://www.reddit.com/ - yes, you read it right  Grin for starters, most coins have their own subreddits so just create a custom feed and dump them there.
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto P2P Scam on: September 02, 2021, 10:55:54 PM
@OP, if your country is on the stricter side, consider minimizing any cryptocurrency footprint that could be linked back to you as much as possible, some ways are:

1. avoid KYC - https://kycnot.me/ or trade in this forum
2. use coinjoin/mixers - 2021 List Bitcoin Mixers Bitcoin Tumblers Websites
3. switch to privacy respecting services - awesome privacy

As always, dyor before using anything.
1595  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: P2P Crypto Trading - Which Platform Do You Use & Why? on: September 02, 2021, 12:48:53 AM
Binance P2P services is good, but not until when there are some P2P buyers and seller who requires additional Know Your Customer (KYC) process before you get to execute the trade. I just don't know if other countries do this as well.

Some even ask for an ID which is a next level of risk. I remember reading a reddit thread about a sus trader cancelling the trade right after OP has sent their ID to them (happened on LBC) so it's a good call to skip sellers who has these additional KYCs. We don't know how the data is kept or if they actually have the right to collect 'em.

hmmm... claims to be fully decentralized exchange but relies on centralized service in order run and has the power to restrict some countries? 🥴 not a good sign.
1596  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitget exchange on: September 01, 2021, 07:49:09 PM
I was banned in main tg group today for asking about their 5B$ daily reported volume and if it's fake or not!

That's a big red flag for me. Any BGB investor needs to be very careful investing in this shady exchange!

Most likely fake. It's one of those with "massive volume but for some reason there's barely anyone who has heard of it" cases  Undecided
1597  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Can anyone share their experiences with BitFlyer? on: August 26, 2021, 09:30:57 PM
Here is the comparison while having short research between Binance and BitFlyer exchange.
https://www.cryptowisser.com/exchange/binance/vs/bitflyer/
...
Which is the majority choose was Binance over BitFlyer.

That's because binance has way more users than bitflyer which isn't surprising. Bitflyer supports way less countries, coins, has mandatory KYC and probably didn't do wide-scale promotions. The chart showed it, from 2k votes vs from 200 votes.

These user scores as a whole should not be taken into account IMO. They can easily be abused which could be as easy as changing IP address. Cryptowisser can set up a system to fight this back, but it's not gonna be perfect, some will slip thru, some will be wrongly tagged. Lastly, the reason behind each vote is not stated, who knows that one star could be their fault all along.
1598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is BaseFEX derivatives exchange still active and working for everyone? on: August 26, 2021, 12:12:59 PM
wondering when would be a good time to do a new scam accusation thread so other people clearly avoid this experience - at this point I hope it is just a technical issue though, otherwise I might have lost a substantial amount of btc to, well, a honeypot scam trap..

No idea how long has the problem persisted but seeing how there is no recent trace of them, it wouldn't be weird to start the thread now and you can always give room for updates. Although it's understandable if you wanna wait for a few more days.

In addition to previous posts:

One thing for sure is, users should be warned as early as possible. I don't think anyone should use this exchange until the problem has been solved at least. Adding a warning in this thread's subject title would be a good start.
1599  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My account was blocked how can I log into coinbase without a phone number on: August 25, 2021, 06:44:00 PM
I have already tried to restore and provided all the documents, but it is too long, I have a large flow of work every day. I rented a virtual number at sms-man.com and have already registered several Coinbase accounts. It came out cheaper and faster than buying a new SIM card. I'll write back later on quality and result if everything goes well.

I would pick the recommended but tedious way any day rather than taking a shortcut but potentially land myself to even more trouble.

Because you've already handed out your personal data to them, coinbase would just detect them if you try to verify your 2nd, 3rd, 4th... accounts using your info, and when that happens, it's not gonna end well.

Even if your purpose is to only send/receive crypto there (which you shouldn't, see: https://notyourkeys.org/) they could still ask you to verify your account and lock your funds until you do so.

I'm hoping you change your mind OP.
1600  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My account was blocked how can I log into coinbase without a phone number on: August 24, 2021, 08:29:32 PM
Can you provide more context OP? What error message did you see? I guess you can't even login to your account?

In any case, you should work on getting back your account because multiple accounts are not allowed. They have the resources to effectively spy on their users and it's only gonna get better over time hence it's not advisable to create an alt account knowing they have full control over your funds in their system + your data.

Get in touch with coinbase and see if you can work something out with them.

-How can I contact Coinbase support?

and check your emails in case you have missed some notices.
