1741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 19, 2023, 11:13:02 PM
~
If they keep this up, they might get a chance for another long winning streak. They have 3 now and their next opponent will be the Timberwolves who is an offensive team. We will see how they will answer back on their offensive barrage.
It's good to see Brunson back with the team after a few games of him being out.

TBH, the Knicks are one of the most improved teams this season. From being at the bottom to now at the 5th spot. They are on a 3 game winning streak and 7-3 on their last 10 games. Their last 10 games will be a balanced one because 5 games will be on their home, and 5 on the road. The Knicks currently have one of the best road records right now in the league with 22-14 win-loss record, so them playing on the road isn't a problem unlike the Warriors who are struggling so much on the road. If there's a problem with the Knicks right now, it's Randle's shot selection and his shot attempts where the volume is too high, and he don't know how to adjust when he isn't having a good night.

Anyway, teams must watch out the Knicks team, and I hope that they will not get eliminated on the first round immediately.

Yeah, it was a deja vu, I mean like 2 seasons ago if my memory serves me right, Knicks had a good run and mostly they are the underdogs and I made a good money out of them during the regular seasons because they have that last one kick in the final minutes to close out their opponents wherein home court or away from them. But last season was different though, they struggled, but with the acquisition of Brunson, the team is now in tune, Randle have that confident again to shot although sometimes he tries to become Steph hehehe. Kings though for me as the breakout team for this season, everyone is jiving, Fox and Sabonis are deadly, and they are now on the second spot in the West.

They didn't start strong, but ended the regular season strong. And you are right, they were able to carry the momentum, as they were so dominant in the playoffs, except against Memphis, which was their biggest challenge at that time. Morant was just injured, things could have been better if he wasn't.

If the GSW can manage to climb to the finals again, it would be easy for them to win it because of their experience if their opponent will not gonna know what they will gonna do about how fast the GSW can adapt to the atmosphere of an NBA finals game. I hope they will be against the Bucks because that's the only team that can give them real trouble and the only team that will gonna give them problems. The rest of the team in the East will be an easy pawn for them. if they can get pass at their first games in the western conference easily, that would be a total disaster for the rest teams in the west because GSW knows exactly what to do to win the series.

Wow that's a strong statement.  I think golden state has a lot for work to do before they can say they would easily win the championship lol.  They aren't the same team on the road as they've been on the past and losing Wiggins is a huge loss for them, he was crucial last year to their run.

Not just Wiggins though, the second unit of the Warriors is very different from last year. They have Bjelica who can give them quality minutes while Looney and Green take a rest, this center can run and shoot from the outside. Otto Porter can also give them offense and play good defense, same as Juan Toscano Anderson and D. Lee. GPII is back with them but he is not playing though.
1742  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 19, 2023, 11:02:58 PM
I think it was basically a proof that people who do not really enjoy the banking problems that we are facing right now ended up with this type of "lets all move to bitcoin" together, which caused the price increase but it meant a lot more as well.

It meant that whenever banking world ends up doing something wrong, there are a lot of people and of course a lot of money that goes into the crypto world and that proves that people trust it a lot and want to avoid banks and trust crypto more. Definitely mainly bitcoin, not some small cap coin, but it is still good that the money goes in and increases the price the way it did, that was wonderful to see.

I wouldn't say they "trust" it a lot, but choosing lesser of the two evil, obviously, BTC and crypto will be the logical choice for the majority right now. Those who are rich and wanted to hedge their wealth and stop it from going down, they don't want to depreciate it. And then there are us, BTC enthusiast who, whatever the outcome is, whether there is banking crisis or not, will definitely be pro-BTC. And most likely the majority right now, average Joe who wants to fight inflation as well moving their assets to BTC. And so with that and other factors, I never thought that this pimp is going to continue to $28k. But here we are right now, and most likely it might be pushed to $30k until we get exhausted.
1743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 19, 2023, 10:37:46 PM
Bucks vs Raptors, Toronto is hot, but they are on the road and against the best team in the East, and Bucks is coming from a lost so they want to get back on that winning column again, so I will go with them -7.5 @1.96.

Portland vs Clippers - I will go with the Clippers here, they should be the favorite here, but I'm going on a -3.5 @1.81. Lillard though might have another big offensive night, but it will not be enough as it's tough for them to defend Kawhi and PG at the same time.

1744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin services do we need for mass adoption? on: March 19, 2023, 10:27:11 PM
"Bitcoin-first online merchants"

I think this is what we have been calling for years, to see some online business as big as Amazon to accept bitcoin as payment scheme and then see how it goes. There are a lot of websites that is accepting BTC as of now, but I think there hasn't been one as huge as Amazon in the e-commerce. Although there are news that they are going to accept it way back, but it didn't materialized. One big negative though that maybe why there e-commerce are not accepting BTC universally is that it is very volatile and this businesses needs that liquidity right away. They don't have the luxury to wait for the price to increase or even break even. So it's really a big challenge for us to see it one day BTC being accepted.
1745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Strangest Bet You Have Ever Had? on: March 19, 2023, 10:16:26 PM
Gambling or betting is moving beyond just casinos and sports to other sectors of the economy. There is a thread here on betting for the 2024 United States election, and another one for the Oscars. I have seen people bet on movie characters and all sorts of things. This is not to say that they are addicted to gambling. I think we do it for fun, as a form of socializing. While thinking about it today, I wondered what the strangest bet I had ever had was. I remembered having a bet with my brother that he would give me $80 if I could eat 5 packs of 200g of instant noodles in less than 5 minutes, and if I couldn't, I would give him $90. What is the strangest bet you have ever had?

One that I can think of, and I don't know if you guys have heard it, is what we call "ending game" here, you can read the explanation from one of our own, @goaldigger Let me introduce "Ending Game".

And then when I was a little, me and my friends will have some kind of money, we are going to guess the last digit of the plate number that will come. So it's a winner take all kind of betting, hehehehe. Just bring back my childhood memories.

And another as what @blockman said, Do you have experience betting in a spider fight? or In my town there are ants that only appear once a year and it is common for children to capture one and start a fight against others ants. Or this kind of game maybe as the OP says it's a pre WWII game, Historical Street Gambling Game.
1746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 19, 2023, 10:05:25 PM
Good news for fans of "No Mercy" Gesta, he won against Jojo Diaz, judges score the fight in his favor, Alejandro Rochin (99-91) and Pat Russell (98-92), while the other judges, hehehe, maybe he is watching other fight because the score is somewhat questionable, Judge Pam Hayashida (97-93).

I just wonder though if Ryan Garcia fought Gesta, maybe there could be upsets as well, hehehe.

In any case, good for Gesta, his career can move on and most likely fight for another day. While for Diaz, no longer the hype on his name, probably this weight for his is too much, maybe it's better to go down to 130 lbs.

That may be the reason why they cancel the planned bout between Gesta and Ryan Garcia, they smell an upset if that was pushed through.

Have forgotten to post in this thread the odds for this fight, Gesta was a very heavy underdog @6.20 ML and unfortunately, i have put a bet on this one as I'm very busy with something IRL.

Should have been a unanimous win for Gesta, don't know what fight Judge Hayashida was watching or he was paid to score the bout in favor of Diaz. Luckily for Gesta that Diaz's power punches failed to connect and he uses his jab to keep Diaz at bay.

It's either Pam Hayashida was not that impressed by Gesta's performance, or he's just biased on the fight. I mean, I know it's unfair because Gesta worked hard for it and thrived for it, therefore, he certainly deserved to win the fight by a way of unanimous decision but this one specific judge decided not to go with the flow and made the fight's outcome into a split-decision.

If 2 other judges see the fight very similar and then 1 judge saw otherwise and with that kind of lopside score, then something is wrong with the judge. I mean clearly, Gesta won the fight, so maybe he is really biased towards Diaz here.

Anyway, I believe this is the very reason why Ryan Garcia cancelled his plan for having a tune-up fight because fighting Gesta is not a tune-up fight for him anymore as it will be a hard-fought fight on his side with a big risk involved especially after the fact that Garcia is already eyeing for Tank Davis. And if ever Garcia will come out alive from his supposed fight with Gesta, I bet he will be suffering a heavy damage too and will not leave the ring unscathed.

I agree though, Ryan said he doesn't want to get injured or something that's why he opted not to go for a tune up fight against Gesta. But we really don't know, maybe he could be upset by Gesta or be put in a position wherein he might question himself again if a boxer like Mercesito will give him problems. We just have an afterthought of what could have been, hehehe.

JoJo said that this will be his last fight with promoter Oscar Dela Hoya, it was one hell of a contract with GBP, 10 years according to Jojo. He might continue to fight but maybe with other promotions if he will continue with this career. But it's going to be very rough road for him right now, 130-135 lbs is pretty much stack up with good and upcoming boxers.
1747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are We Going To See $30,000 Price Before the End of This week on: March 19, 2023, 09:55:31 PM
Why not? as you have said $28k has been breach already and it seems that there's no stopping this so called bull run that we are seeing. And this week alone, we have gain so much that we have been breaking the biggest mental barrier that is $25k. And so that next stop is $28k, which is also reach by now. So we are looking like $30k for this week and if that happens then $32k at the end of the month. So it's within the possibility, the recent bank crisis in US is what really pushing individuals, investors or perhaps just average Joe putting their wealth into BTC and so there is FOMO. They are opting to a assets that can hedge their wealth and BTC is the only one option for them.
1748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my lack of knowledge has blinded me so far on: March 19, 2023, 12:47:37 PM
To be honest, i dont understand why some ppl so mad at KYC... and would like to know opinions of who is against that, just to understand an their view.

They probably doesn't want to send their personal info simple as that, and we all know that crypto should be (pseudo) anonymous, but it has change thru the years and regulators have step up and force KYC to every crypto services, including casinos. And because at one point, you just need a bitcoin address to withdraw simply as that, no questions ask.

From now henceforth, my assumptions about KYC verification from reputable online gambling platforms have changed, I seek for answers and I find them, drop your opinions if you think I am wrong or you think this is not accurate enough.

I can understand where you are coming from, yeah, its messy and we don't like KYC, but it is what it is, it has changed a lot as I have said. They are being mandated now which is wrong, but they have to follow it so that they can remain in the space as it will be very hard for this casinos to exist without any KYC specially for big wins. So it's either you submit or not. Just for comparison though, even if you go landbased casinos and wanted to take advantage of their freebies, you will have to fill out forms and your information too.
1749  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Retracement will finally happen on: March 19, 2023, 12:29:18 PM
This is already given, the level of $20,000 is now the strong level. As on the peak of the bull run 2017-2018, the peak was around nearly $20,000.
So for now, I can consider it as a significant level because look when after we break that level this year, it's always now above $20,000 and that level is now acting as a support.

We quickly forgot that nothing is too strong to break below or above. If we think back to the FTX crash, when the market was dumping extensively on roller coasters and there was no support or resistance because of innumerable fears, we suddenly forgot all of that and turned bullish once more. Some were predicting $40k before June, but they all forgot that users have yet to see the thousands and hundreds of people who are still stuck on FTX. When the FTX continue case in court, many altcoins people have invested in end up not breathing again, the same $20k may be easily shattered.

True, but it might take some time before we can finally break it, case in point $25k, yeah we did breach it several times already but we even didn't maintain that price for even in a 1 hour timeframe as speculators keeps on selling at that price for obvious reasons of making profits. However, it's not that strong because in the last couple of days, we again reach that price and then we maintain it for good or at least at this rally. So it means the resistance is now the support line that we are holding. $27k and it will as well be as interesting as the week will start in the next 24 hours (at least Asian Time), and we might see some push to $28k. So let's see if this is going to happen or we might have to go back and retrace.
1750  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is OK to sell but is better to wait on: March 19, 2023, 12:02:52 PM
Some people will rush to sell at every slight increase. A friend was telling me I want to sell, even though my money is not complete and  I ask him of what profit has achieved investing in the first place? Investment is a like a future you keep hoping for the better.

Keep holding but he's eager to sell and relax his head from worries that is money has gone into extinction, lol. Increase you're having same such mentality, kindy advise!
Hold on and keep holding.
Time is coming when you will be excited about it.

I would agree that it's better to HODL, but if you need to sell because you need the money to settle some bills or other important matter then why not? And I guess no one will blame you for doing that, it's your money anyways so you can do whatever you want.

But there might come a time when you become mature that you are going to hold and continue to increase your bitcoin no matter what. Maybe you will have that extra money in your pockets besides your bitcoin investment, or you have some other means. And if we are talking about the current market situation, this is still a good chance to invest, in my opinion.
1751  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a Symbol of Confidence in Banking Crisis Recovery on: March 19, 2023, 11:48:39 AM
Though I am not too certain about this but something in me keeps telling this could be the results of which bitcoin price is increasing dramatically without even looking at all this event around the corner. I do sense most of the investors or customer have made a Uturn by investing and putting their resources into cryptocurrency again since they have less confident with bank, maybe they don't want any collapse anymore whereby channelling their investment to bitcoin, if this is actually true then I smell to see bitcoin at $35k within 15 to 25 days interval imo.

Most likely this could be the main reason, as investors are running away from banks right now because of the uncertainty, problem majority of them have problems with their liquidity and it takes the government to bail them out.

And with that, investors or even just average joe who have money in the bank might have been withdrawing it because they are afraid that they can't get their money on time and this banks are going to collapse. They are not looking for alternatives to put their wealth 1:1 or even make money thru bitcoin. So it's strong enough reasons for us to see buying pressures in the market for the last 3 days or so.
1752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 19, 2023, 11:22:18 AM

On the other hand, Donaire might be taking his training as hard as the last time. We all know that he was knockout by Inoue, but still though, this is another opportunity for him to remain as champion, so everything should be perfect for him come fight night.

I'm sure that experience taught him a lot of lessons, that he has to be well-prepared, as it looks like he lacked the stamina at that time. It was a very easy win for Inoue, who asked for a rematch to avenge his loss in their first game. Well, this opponent is not as good as Inoue, but he still needs to be 100% and must not be careless.

I think it's not the question of stamina, but his strategy, he chooses to go toe to toe against the best in that division and has more power. So he bet that if he could just land one good left hook of his, Inoue might doubt himself on that fight. But Inoue is as good as anyone though he was, because he fight toe to toe and doesn't matter what the outcome will be as he believed in his power. And Donaire didn't even land a good punch because Inoue is very quick and has a good chin too. Well maybe here, it will be a different strategy for him, maybe he will test Santiago and once he read him, he might go for a win or become aggressive in the middle rounds.
1753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 19, 2023, 11:07:24 AM
I'll try to predict the matches tomorrow, I'll do a parlay bet today. Magic vs Clippers; I'll choose Clippers over Magic because recently they have good run and they really upper hand in this match. The odds is just 1.32 so it is a safe bet for me. For my next bet between a matchup of 76ers and Indiana Pacers. Pacers is the underdog what I want a safe bet so I'll 76ers with 1.36 odds. Harden and Embid have good offensive rating recently and I think they have a current winning streak. My 3rd parlay bet will be the matchup between boston and utah jazz, Jazz is not doing good in these past games so I'll pick boston for a safe bet again. And for my last bet is the hot matchup between GSW and Grizzlies. We know that there is a current beef in this 2 teams so I really looking forward to this match. I'll bet in Grizzlies for tomorrow with 1.79 odds and they are the favorite ones between the matchup. My total odds are 5.13x and I'll bet $20. If I win then I can get $102.3.  Grin
I lost with my 4 bet parlay. 2 wins and 2 losses. Magic defeated the clippers with 5 points while the Utah defeat the bostin with only 1 point. I embraced the risks so I have no emotional discomfort to the $20 that I lost in the parlay bet. I'll do a parlay bet again for tomorrow, these are my picks for tomorrow's parlay; I'll pick Suns over OKC even though Kevin Durant is injured. Actually according to odds, the OKC are the favorite in this matchup but I still think Suns can win. My next bet is between the Toronto and Bucks, I'll pick Bucks because it is a safe bet even though the odds is jut 1.21. There is still chance that Toronto can beat the bucks but that chance is low especially if Giannis will play. My last bet will be the matchup between LAL and Magic, It is a important game for lakers so I'll bet for lakers and for sure there is a high chance that they will beat them. They are also the favorite team in this matchup with 1.43 odds. My total odds for this bet parlay is 3.40 x. Goods odds for me.

True, but I admire those who took risk and putting a parlay bets, however, I just bet on the Sacramento Kings and didn't to any parlay for this tonight's game. I would have to bet on the Raptors though, but I'm not sure why I didn't bet at all.

Early games tomorrow for my timezone, but will post my bet later.

There are games that's really worth to gambler for a parlays.

1755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of the world population involved in gambling on: March 18, 2023, 11:50:17 PM
And if you we are going to look at it though, everything is life is a gamble, because we really don't know what will be the outcome of our decisions that  can really affect us for good or bad. And now with the advent of technologies, gambling are now more accessible, again, perhaps this is due to the pandemic that most of us are at home and nothing to do, and for those who are really into gambling, then yeah, play in our phone and laptop and continue with it. And to some extend every sports that we love, football, soccer and basketball, sports that we love and so we beat on the outcome of it. Just shows that gambling is really universal and we all know that it will be part of human history, no matter what we say or the bad effects it can bring to the society.
1756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | Unified WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | May 7 on: March 18, 2023, 11:40:50 PM
As per Inoue:

Quote
“My next goal is to move up in weight and once again become world champion,” Inoue noted of his upcoming pound-for-pound showdown with the unbeaten Philadelphia native. “I’m sure it will be the biggest challenge for me so far, since I will have to deal with issues related to my own physical frame.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/inoue-my-next-goal-again-become-world-champ-im-sure-it-biggest-challenge-me--173180

So he is taking this fight very serious and think that this is the biggest challenge for him. Because this is the first time that he will go up in weight and will be against the champion in Fulton. Good to hear that he is still down to earth and never talk trash his opponents and even doubting if he can deal with the moving up in weight at 122 lbs. Because we are all saying that not much of a different in weight and it could really benefit him as he don't need to weight drain. But he is questioning himself. Nevertheless, his power though, might be enough to stop Fulton later in the fight.
1757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 18, 2023, 11:28:20 PM
<<<snip>>> so that they didn't knock down easier.
I've seen Ryan Garcia getting knocked down, but he came back strong and beat his opponent. However, I haven't seen the same from Tank Davis in his previous fights. That's why people are thinking that Tank Davis might hurt Ryan Garcia and he won't be able to stand up. But I see it differently; it convinces me of how strong Ryan Garcia's chin is.

Yeah, it's really a good show by Garcia when he was able to get back from the canvass and beat Luke Campbell with a body shot. So he has been tested and pass it although we can't compare the power of Luke and Tank. What if Tank hit Garcia with the same left hook, maybe he will won't get up or maybe he will, we will have to see in this fight.

With Ryan Garcia having the reach and height advantage, he should use it effectively to have the edge over a very smart fighter and KO artist. I'm pretty sure they are practicing their respective strategies to score a knockout. There's no way this fight will reach the judges' scorecards.

If he will know how to used that advantage then good for Ryan, but as Davis said, he is used to fighting bigger guys so again, gonna be interesting how the fight will go with Ryan using his height and reach and then Tank, contend with countering and looking for that one big shot that might change the complexion of the game. And so far as far as betting goes, Davis is the favorite and so Ryan will really have to play smart and have a lot of aces in his sleeves.
1758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1M Bitcoin Valuation until the end of this Bull Run on: March 18, 2023, 11:18:44 PM
Some exaggeration though, I don't think that "banking system is about to end" - yeah they fall but there are the governments to bail them out. They are already institutions, part of the pillar of good government so I highly doubt that they are going to be obsolete. It's that the world is not looking for very, perhaps it was due to the leadership or we are still suffering from the effects of Covid as the economy continue to worsen and that's why there are banks that are closing down. The thing though right now is that we have an alternative like in Bitcoin can we can really used right now as they are a hedge. Maybe we could be the winner at the end. But we will have to wait for the bull run to happen next year as how far the price will go with all the negative things that is happening around the globe, specially the failure of the banks. $100k or $1 million? it's anyone guess.
1759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why The Majority Of the Population Will Embrace CBDC's on: March 18, 2023, 10:55:39 PM
I think there is one important factor as well,

- government are going to force it's population to used their CBCD's. What I mean is that if you wanted to transact specially in government offices, then before you can do that, you should have CBCD in your hand before you can proceed with them. And so it's obvious, all the benefits is going to the government itself and not to the population with this whole CBCD thingy. And when we thought it's crypto, it's not, it's their digit that they just made it digital so that they can go paperless and there are no benefits whatsoever, in my opinion.

And they are still hyping this fight even if it is just a week away from it:

https://twitter.com/BOXINGFOTY/status/1636899331344330752

This is a supposedly video of Caleb Plant getting kicked out of a boxing gym in Las Vegas for not paying his gym fees. Not sure if this is real or what or just a promotional stunt for this upcoming fight. How can a professional boxer not pay for a gym? or maybe he has his own gym as well.  And it was said the Benavidez Sr is the one who posted this video and this is not recent.

And with this, they are not trending in Twitter hehehe.
