Rafael dos Anjos  vs.  Bryan Barberena 170 lbs

That is strange fight imho. RDA is a lightweight, currently on top7 position. Bryan Barberena is a welterweight and is unranked. I dont understand RDA future plans. This is not the first time he RDA jumping from one division to another. Getting a higher position in top of lightweight is harder (Dariush only looks less stronger than others, but he is a series of wins, he is probably a next challenger for a title fight) than in welterweight, so RDA decided to fight in welterweight, and if he looses, he wont loose positions in top (as he is not in top15 of welterweight).

Such a simple strategy to look better than really is. For real, why RDA is top7 in lightweight with such a record? His record looks more like a zebra (win-lose-win-lose-win...)

Dos Anjos fought in 170 more than 5 times after having two straight losses at 155.  He then moved down to 155 but then looks like he's moving back up again after losing to Rafael Fiziev.  As for his future plans, there's none.  He's prolly fighting to finish off his contract before retiring from the UFC.  He's almost 40 years old and he prolly wants to fight in 170 so he wouldn't have to go through a gruelling weight cut.

I think he wins vs Barbarena in a three rounder but he's now susceptible of getting KO'd after Fiziev.
1922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: November 21, 2022, 03:34:15 PM
Did anybody watch ONE FC?  Christian mother fking Leeeee!  The guy is one tough mother fker!  He just won another belt at ONE's 170 weight class in what was a really good match albiet both got a bit fatigued.

In hindsight, I think Lee's camp knew their guy could take on Abbasov as Abbasov just fought at 205 and lost and it's a huge weight cut going back to 170.  And it showed as Abbasov missed weight.  Christian Lee went in there as the fresher guy being a true 155'er moving up in weight.  So that means almost no weight cut needed for him.

Nope! I haven't watched the Live, and I am still looking for the replay of the fight, Christian Lee take the KO/TKO by getting a takedown ground and pound, they also got a Filipino fighter that is Stephen Loman, that won against Bibiano Fernandes, surely it was one epic fight but I will still rewatch the match yet,

First round Lee almost got starched but was still concious enough to go try for a TD and get his bearings back.  Around R2 both of them started getting tired but they were still going at it.  The whole match they were going at it even tho it slowed down a bit at later rounds.  But still, it was an impressive finish by Lee.

Next for 4 days we will have a big event of 2022 PFL World Championship, after 6 regular season and 3 playoff matches, now it's time for the championship. We have 7 main card, but the biggest is Kayla Harrison vs Larissa Pacheco since this is the trilogy and Pacheco haven't win against Harrison. But this time could be different. This PFL Pacheco has an amazing result as she can win via TKO.

So this is the quick card of this event:

Kayla Harrison  vs.  Larissa Pacheco 155 lbs
Brendan Loughnane  vs.  Bubba Jenkins 145 lbs
Ante Delija  vs.  Matheus Scheffel 265 lbs
Julia Budd  vs.  Aspen Ladd 145 lbs
Stevie Ray  vs.  O. Aubin-Mercier 155 lbs
Dilano Taylor  vs.  Sadibou Sy 170 lbs
Omari Akhmedov  vs.  Rob Wilkinson 205 lbs
Sheymon Moraes  vs.  Marlon Moraes 135 lbs
Natan Schulte  vs.  Jeremy Stephens 155 lbs
M. Magomedkerimov  vs.  Gleison Tibau 170 lbs
Dakota Ditcheva  vs.  K. Corogenes 125 lbs
Biaggio Ali Walsh  vs.  Tom Graesser 155 lbs

Source: https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/87841-pfl-2022-10-championships

Oof I see some familiar fighters in there.  Ladd, Stevie Ray, Akhmedov, Moraes and Stephens.  Grin  Didn't know the UFC also cut Ladd from the roster.
1923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETHW still survive? on: November 21, 2022, 03:18:09 PM
A crypto fanatic on youtube said ETH pow will survive and many projects will build on it some months ago, I don't remember his name anymore but he is a popular fellow.

To my surprise new projects are still building on the old Ethereum ( ETHPoW ), few of the projects are successful through funds raising but I'm curious what makes developers to keep building on an outdated chain.

Any thought?

I see very few people on the forum that are interested in ETHW, I have also done some research on it and can say, ETHW should be interested and put on the watchlist for the next bull season. According to some news that I know, currently most of ETHW is being held by miners a lot and retail investors have sold out after receiving the airdrop and these miners are mostly from China.

Personally, I think there will be a big pump in the future for ETHW for miners to sell and you should note that currently binance is still holding ETHW but they are not open for trading.

Be careful.  I made the same mistake during the last bull market by holding a lot more ETC than ETH.  I still made a decent amount but I would've made more if I just held more in ETH.

The thing is if you're trying to decide if you're better off holding ETH or a fork of ETH then always look at how the fork is performing against ETH.  There are ETHW/ETH charts in Trading View...  So if ETHW/ETH is trending up, hold ETHW.  If it's trending down just hold ETH.
1924  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hacker of FTX dumping ETH for BTC on: November 21, 2022, 02:49:56 PM
It is not a hack the Bahamian government are seizing their assets.

I thought that the seized assets will either stay as they were, either will be sold for fiat. But selling for Bitcoin...? looks a bit suspicious to me.
...Not that I'd mind to see a government have more trust in bitcoin than fiat. Cheesy

Lol.  Whoever is in control of those coins is def laundering them.  Why convert to BTC?  That's because BTC is easier to launder than ETH after the Tornado Cash debacle.  We can't even be sure anymore if the news about the coins held by the Bahamian government and the coins held by the hacker are the same thing.  It could all be smoke and mirrors at this point as there are some groups out there who want to steal it for themselves.

What they could do is convert to renBTC, then to real BTC, deposit to lower tier exchanges and convert to XMR.  From there it could go anywhere.

The season is over and congratulations Max. Although they became champions by exceeding the budget, I would like to congratulate Redbull separately and wish Ferrari and Mercedes a heavy loss. While it was known that redbull would exceed the budget before the half of the season came, neither Ferrari nor Mercedes could take any action. Everyone knew that Redbull would get a small penalty and get rid of it. Binotto missed the opportunity. You are the brand of this sport, you have been obsessed since the beginning of the year about the budget. Just improve your car. Do not care about the fine, look at redbull, the guys developed the car and became champions. The result is a three cent penalty. Congratulations to Marko and Horner, they manupilate f1 management easily.

Toto, on the other hand, was a smart man, but the wrong concept of the vehicle ruined all his work, otherwise he would have forced Redbull again this year. No matter how hard they tried, the train had run away from the beginning.

Ferrari must immediately part ways with binotto, sainz, strategy and the pit crew or they will be more frustrated. It feels like next year we will watch a championship between max and mercedes again. Ferrari is not in this race.

^  Yeah they blamed 'catering costs' that they didn't include as part of the spend they used to develop the car.  And sure it's prolly just a lame excuse.  But next season and with the fine and the penalty on Red Bull, if they come out still winning the next season, what would that say about Merc and Ferrari?  :/

Everybody thinks the pressure is on Red Bull but really there could be more pressure on the other top teams.  Now they have no excuse and would have to win the next season.

Can't wait for next season...  Let the memes and the banter commence.

Anyway...  England is up by three goals goals rn with a couple or so minutes left left to play before HT.  And it's really nice to see Southgate start Bellingham.  Smiley  I guess that's one leg I got winning in my parlay.

Oh and so Qatar didn't bribe Ecuador enough then?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Very disappointed to see the previous UFC fight night main event got cancelled, however the next UFC event is also fight night and it will happen on December 4 or next 2 weeks. I think the next main event would be more interesting since Thompson vs Holland is 50/50, much harder to predict. The other match is also interesting to watch: Barberena vs Dos Anjos, Nicolau vs Schnell and Tuivasa vs Pavlovich.

UFC Fight Night Quick Card:

Date:  December 3, Saturday
Main Card:  9pm ET
Preliminary Card:  7pm ET
Venue:  Amway Center, Orlando, Florida

Main Card
Stephen Thompson  vs.  Kevin Holland 170 lbs
Rafael dos Anjos  vs.  Bryan Barberena 170 lbs
Matheus Nicolau  vs.  Matt Schnell 125 lbs
Tai Tuivasa  vs.  Sergei Pavlovich 265 lbs
Derek Brunson  vs.  Jack Hermansson 185 lbs
Eryk Anders  vs.  Kyle Daukaus 185 lbs

Preliminary Card
Niko Price  vs.  Philip Rowe 170 lbs
Angela Hill  vs.  Emily Ducote 115 lbs
Clay Guida  vs.  Scott Holtzman 155 lbs
Michael Johnson  vs.  Marc Diakiese 155 lbs
Darren Elkins  vs.  Jonathan Pearce 145 lbs
Tracy Cortez  vs.  Amanda Ribas 125 lbs
Natan Levy  vs.  Genaro Valdéz 155 lbs
Francis Marshall  vs.  Marcelo Rojo 145 lbs
Yazmin Jauregui  vs.  Istela Nunes 115 lbs

Source: https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/91801-ufc-fight-night

^  Added a little more info there.  I hope you don't mind...

Anyway, that's a decent event for just Fight Night.  Make the main event a championship event and it could pass for a PPV event imho...  At first glance, it's a parlayable event with the favorites looking like their opponents won't give them any surprises.  Except maybe for a couple or so of them.  Brunson could surprise Hermansson, so will Schnell and Michael Johnson.  And prolly even Guida..?  :/

And the books have Thompson vs Holland as a coin flip.  I think Thompson is washed and Holland might look like more than a 1.50 favorite.
1928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: November 20, 2022, 03:27:29 PM
Verstappen won 15 of the 22 races. Is anyone ever going to beat that record again? Certainly at the beginning of the season, no one saw that coming. At the beginning of the season, Leclerc was still able to catch up, but after that it was over for Ferrari. It's a pity for Perez that he didn't manage to get 2nd place, otherwise he would have also taken 2nd place in the general classification. All in all, a supsr season for Red Bull, and let's hope that next season will be a lot more exciting and that Hamilton can also participate in the title fight.

I don't we could say that it's really surprsing or 'no one saw it coming'.  At the start of the 2022 season, anybody who follows F1 more closely would already have some sort of inkling that either Verstappen or Hamilton could somewhat win majority of the races with Leclerc as the dark horse.

So who watched the race?  And how was it?  I should have watched it as it was Vettel's final race but I forgot.  Lol.  I already liked him when everybody was annoyed by him and the finger during his younger years.  Cheesy  But in the end he was one of the most liked personalities in the sport.  He's a good guy.

1931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Markets pumped quick after CZ said this, but don't FOMO yet! on: November 19, 2022, 05:45:37 PM

This surely does not mean that the markets will revive so fast the way we saw during previous bull runs. Firstly Luna and then FTX have worsened everything, else we were going to see some great moves during November and December.

My take...  Great moves, nope.  But yeah I think November or December could've been a bit better for BTC if the whole FTX thing didn't happen.  But then again and I'm not trying to break everybody's bubble, but December historically hasn't really been good for BTC or altcoins.

Now I know I've been saying that the bottom could be in but looking at the chart again now makes me feel like it could go for another leg down.  Dunno...
1932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: November 19, 2022, 05:09:49 PM
^  At this point of the season, I hope something exciting happens.  Lolol.

Mercedes are just as most people expected. They are stronger from now on and they are again a big challenge for Red Bull drivers. I think we will watch another domination by Russell and Hamilton on podium. This time Hamilton might go for the win on his last attempts for a win in this season. Russell got his first career win in the previous race so he might race a little more comfortably maybe.

I'm curious about what Perez and Verstappen will do this time as well. After the recent incidents I can't predict what can happen if we see some competition between them in the race.

In the end, it's F1 after all...  And in order to get pole position and win races, you need a really good car besides having a really good driver.  That's why Mercedes dominated the sport for 8 years prior to Red Bull winning it with Verstappen last season.

Anyway here are the results for quali.  I didn't watch it because I...  forgot.  Lmao.  And I didn't really care much about it anymore and had no interest taking a little action in it as the lines really have no value.  The books have gotten really sharp.

Fialho has a lot of potential, but he's not very versatile at the moment. I remember when he went on that little mini run of wins, and was basically fighting every two week period until he got humbled. Hopefully, he's learnt from that, and put the work in training. He needs to get better at grappling, and wrestling, and not load up on every single shot he throws.

If he continues to do what he has been doing the past year, and a bit. I think he'll lose this weekend's fight. Although, I do like him, as I said I believe he has a lot of potential, which hopefully won't be wasted. I don't think he's champion material, don't get me wrong. However, he's a fun fighter, albeit a little low on the volume side of things.

Yup as a pick I got Fialho just because of the age.  Salikhov is 38 and he didn't look the same at his last fight vs Jingliang Li.  Now I know Li is higher level of an opponent but still, Fialho can pack a punch and is one tough dude.  Overall it's tough to pick between the two and the lines show it...  It's a coin flip.

Salikhov fought better competition, he has more experience but the age..  Fialho, younger, tougher but fought mostly low level guys in the UFC and lost his biggest test in Jake Matthews.  So dunno...  But is the UFC throwing him a bone by matching him up vs a guy who could be on his way out in Salikhov?

^  It's part of an overall trading strategy aka the stop loss.  Go long or short on a coin at some price then set the stop loss if the coin goes below or above some level from the price.  Stop loss placement depends on the trader tho.  Some traders like using a stop loss based on volatility while other traders like to use support and resistance levels.

And it's easy to say 'sell now' and wait for a dump.  But what if the dump never comes and ETH starts rising higher then your sell price?  Sometimes it's better to get confirmation from the market then react than to anticipate it.
1937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge can it go 1$ on: November 18, 2022, 05:29:34 PM
Doge can go 1$ many people waiting that.

Based on what?  Just because people want it to go up doesn't mean it should or it will.  A lot of people want to win the lottery doesn't mean they are gonna win.  Tell me one reason why doge shoukd go to a $1 from where we are at here.  Market sucls and doge has 10,000 new coins minted every minute forever.  Demand needs to forever grow otherwise it will drop in value.  Supply and demand rules.  No doge shouldn't go to $1.

It's getting close tho and it did out pace BTC for the last couple of bull markets with the last bull market being its biggest move to date.  I'm not saying the next bull market would surely bring DOGE to 1 USD but I don't know man, anything is possible with how insane everything is in crypto.

And who knows...  ETH could even flip BTC in market cap.  Again not saying it's a sure thing but I think it's better to be ready for all scenarios.

Anyway, FJ has a free to play bracket challenge for the WC.  First prize is 20k USD.  Not bad for a free game.  But terms and conditions apply tho, so expect KYC if you win.

^  Corey Anderson was owning Nemkov for all the rounds while the fight lasted.  He was cruising to a win.  I'm not sure if he could do it again this time tho as Nemkov has an idea what to expect from Anderson.  And that's the wrestling.  I hope Nemkov worked on his TD defense so we get to have a more competitive match up unlike last time.  If not for the clash of heads, Anderson would've been the champ.

Besides the main event and co main, the rest of main card looks decent judging from the fighters' records.

Anyway let's move forward, who do you guys got this weekend?

Do you think Ion Cuțelaba gonna make his usual "shout on opponent" during staredowns ? Cheesy

I think I am gonna watch main event and Cutelaba fight. This is going to be a hard (mentally) fight for Lewis. Spivak isnt easy opponent. Lewis has a series of two losses.

Some news: It was said Chimaev next opponent is going to be Covington, but he has signed the contract yet. Dana White said, that UFC matchmakers are considering Shavkat Rakhmonov to be Chimaev next opponent then, but they havent decided yet, should Rakhmonov have one more fight before facing Chimaev or not.

Cutelaba will look good in the first round and half of the second round then start gassing out if he doesn't finish Nzechukwu.  But the thing with Nzechukwu is he seems like he doesn't have some sort of killer instinct.  I'd pick Nzechukwu to win but I'd be wary to make a bet with how juiced the line is.  It's prolly good as a live bet after R1.  Stake has live betting now.

And nooooo!  Why do they have to do Rakhmonov like that?  Chim should fight Covington and use that as some sort of stepping stone for Chim to go for the title if he wins.  Rakhmonov should fight Burns to rank up or Masvidal to build up some hype.
